6. This will open ‘CAD Format Settings’ window which contains three fields
x Input Files
x Units/Side
x Extra Match Conditions
7. In ‘Input Files’ field Browse for the CSV format CAD file
8. After Browsing one extra field ‘Format CAD File’ appears in the same window
11. The CAD file appears in the ‘Part Of Input File’ box, select the order of input files by giving the no.
of each column (If ref. designator, part no, package, X,Y & R are in the columns 1,2,3,4,5,6
respectively then fill the same nos. in the text box of ‘Order’ in front of the each information asked
13. You can see the layout of the PCB now, but the dimensions of this layout is not correct
14. From the ‘Edit’ drop down select ‘CAD Objects’, this will open ‘Modify CAD Objects’ window
17. Select ‘PCB Objects’, select the text box of ‘PCB Fiducials’

18. Enter the X and Y coordinates of 1st Panel Fiducial with respect to CAD origin and click on ‘+’
button now enter the X and Y coordinates of 2nd Panel Fiducial with respect to CAD origin and click
‘+’ button and so on (Please add maximum fiducials available with you)
Please note Don’t Press ‘Enter’ or Don’t click ‘OK’ button at this stage
19. If you have BAD marks, enter the coordinates in text box of ‘PCB Badmarks’ with respect to CAD
origin in the same manner as in ‘PCB Fiducials’

20. Use ‘Circuit Objects’ field if you have Circuit Fiducials or Circuit Badmarks in the same manner as
explained above

21. Use ‘Circuit Definitions’ field to enter the 1st block repeat value (X,Y and R) in the text box X, Y, and
R respectively and click ‘+’ button

Now enter the 2 block repeat value and click ‘+’ button and so on now press Enter or click OK
button
22. Save the file in two formats ‘*.Gencad’ and ‘**.Cad2Cad’ by selecting the drop down of ‘Save as
type’ and close the Cad2Cad application
23. Saving the file in Gencad format will create two files *.Cad and *.Pnl which later on will be used as
the input file for PPS Pro
25. from the ‘File’ drop down select ‘Preferences’ this will open ‘PPS Pro Preferences’ window which
contains six fields
x General
x Part Data: Select ‘PSI File’ radio button and browse for your PSI file
x Factory Data: Browse for your ALE file
x CBDoc
x Scripting
x Optimizer: Select ‘Run Time Balancer’ radio button
Click “OK”
27. First in the ‘Location:’ box browse the location where this project should be saved
28. In the ‘Name:’ text box enter the name of the Project and click ‘Next’
29. In the ‘what features would you like to include?’ check box field select all except ‘Import bill of
materials’ & ‘Set machine origins’
30. Select the line which is created in ALE file in ‘Select the project’s line:’ dropdown and select the
unit of CAD file in ‘Select the project’s units:’ dropdown and click ‘Next’ and then click ‘Finish’
31. The Window now contains seven fields:
x Select Files: In this field click ‘Copy Files…’ and browse for the Gencad file (*.CAD and
*.PNL) created by using Cad2Cad converter and click ‘Open’ and then click ‘Next>’
x Import Data: You can see the two files just copied, click on ‘*.PNL file’ and click ‘Import…’
now in ‘Import Gencad’ window click ‘Import’ and click ‘Close’ then click ‘Next>’
x Select Products: Click on check box ‘View’ this will open ‘CIMBridge Graphical Editor’
window which is called as ‘MDF’ file
In the ‘set’ dropdown of this window select ‘Board Thickness…’ and enter the thickness of
your PCB in the Blue Pane and press ‘Enter’
Now from the ‘File’ dropdown select ‘Save’ and close the window now change the value in
the ‘Side’ dropdown from ‘Both’ to ‘Top’ and click ‘Next>’
x Verify Data: In the ‘Show’ dropdown select ‘Packages’ and click ‘Verify’ the status of all
should be a blue tick mark instead of “?”
If the status of the packages are “?” then select that package and click ‘Modify…’
Now select the ‘Alias’ radio button and alias your package with the closest package and
click ‘OK’, now you can see a yellow rhombus instead of “?”
Click on ‘Save’ button and repeat the procedure for all the packages with “?” when done
click ‘Next>’
In the ‘Show’ dropdown select ‘Parts’ and click ‘Verify’ the status of all should be a blue tick
mark instead of “?”
If the status of any of the parts is “?” then click ‘Add All’ and then press ‘Save’
x Program Machine: You can see your product name with all the machines in the line
Right Click on any of the machine in line and then click ‘Settings’
Click ‘Settings’ enter the value ‘1500’ in ‘Max. Run Time:’ text box
Click on the radio button ‘Good’ and press ‘OK’ again click ‘OK’
Select the check box ‘Enabled for programming’ click ‘Make Default’ and press ‘Close’
Now click ‘Program All’ and click ‘Optimize Cell’ and wait for the optimizer to start.
