1 THE TOKHEIM WWC T1 CALCULATOR

Tokheim’s World Wide Calculator (WWC T1) is a technologically advanced
measuring system built around a central microprocessor. It is scalable and
configurable to drive the most demanding hydraulic configurations and options by
means of a user-friendly interface. Connection to a filling station point of sale
(POS) is possible through data communication. The complete range of calculator
functions are covered in detail in the separate WWC T1 Set Up & Maintenance
Manual. This manual only covers the basic programming tasks to be performed by
either the Station Manager or a Tokheim approved technician.

The dispenser can also function as a standalone unit whereby information is

transmitted to the WWC via a keypad (refer to section 1.1).

1.1 Using the Keypad for Configuration

The keypad is the interface between the Station Manager or Technician and
the fuel dispenser via the WWC T1.

The keypad can either be:-

•Infra-Red Remote Control keypad (IRK)
(connected via IR sensor on calculator door)

•User Access keypad (UAK)

(connected via cable to a dipnet connection on mainboard)

•Internal Configuration keypad (ICK)

(located inside the calculator head, pre-wired into
mainboard)

The keypad allows the user to access the following functions of the WWC:-
•Configuration e.g. selecting standalone mode or console mode, entering
Issue A

product names, setting delay timers etc.

Note : Ensure nozzles are correctly stored in nozzle boots before entering the
configuration function or any other programming operation.
•Information e.g. reading of information such as totalisers, error codes etc.

1.2 Basic Keypad Functions
The keypads can be used like standard remote control units by pressing on
preset programming keys. The keys on the IRK, UAK or ICK are identical
and perform exactly the same functions when connected as described in section
1.1. The UAK and ICK have additional Function keys which are not covered
in this manual.

2 MODES OF DISPENSER OPERATION

The dispenser can be programmed in different modes of operation depending on the
function to be performed. There are two main modes of dispenser operation:-
• Console Mode (the dispenser is controlled by the console)
• Standalone Mode (the dispenser operates independently of the console)

Note : Console settings will always have priority over standalone dispenser settings.
e.g. If a standalone dispenser is programmed with unit prices then changed to console
mode, these prices will be lost and the dispenser will default to the console unit
prices.

In order carry out the basic set up of the WWC, the dispenser must be placed in
standalone mode. This procedure must only be carried out by Tokheim authorised
personnel.

2.1 Application specific requirements

Prior to placing the dispenser in standalone mode, the following
communication protocols require the connector to be unplugged from the
comms board:-

WARNING : TURN POWER OFF BEFORE COMMENCEMENT.

•EPS, IFSF, Tatsuno, Dresser, Tokheim (older versions only), M3000
• Logitron - via remote switch on the GPI inputs
• EIN, 82D (latest versions only) - via adaptor on mainboard, where fitted

All other protocols do NOT require the communications to be disconnected

(Dunclare, EIN, 82D, AUT, Tokheim (latest version only), ZSR, Kienzle ER3,
Kienzle S&B).

Note : Remember to turn the power back ON again after disconnnection.

2.2 How to Change the Mode of Dispenser Operation
The Configuration Function must be accessed in order to set the mode of
dispenser operation i.e. standalone mode or console mode.

Note : In certain protocols, this process must be attempted three times in

succession before the dispenser can be placed into standalone mode.
