EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE INTERVIEW ANSWERS:

1. How do you respond to failure?


 I should respond to failure by recognizing it as an opportunity for growth and learning, reframing it
as a temporary setback, being resilient and persistent, seeking feedback and support, and learning
from my mistakes. In short, respond to failure with a growth mindset and a positive attitude towards
learning and development.
2. What makes you angry?
 I get angry when people are disrespectful towards others. I value kindness and respect for everyone,
regardless of their position or background. When I see someone being treated unfairly or
disrespectfully, it makes me angry because it goes against my personal values.
3. How would your previous co-workers describe you?
 My previous co-workers would describe me as a reliable and knowledgeable team player who is
always willing to help and contribute positively to the team dynamic.
4. Tell me about a time when you had to work closely with someone you didn't like.
 One time, I had to work closely with a colleague who had a very different working style than mine,
which created some tension between us. However, we were able to overcome our differences by
focusing on our shared goals and finding common ground. We communicated openly and
respectfully, and we each made an effort to adapt to the other's working style. In the end, we were
able to complete the project successfully and even gained a newfound respect for each other's
strengths.
5. How do you respond to feedback or criticism?
 I respond to feedback or criticism by listening actively and openly, without becoming defensive. I
take the time to reflect on the feedback and identify areas for improvement. I ask questions to clarify
the feedback and seek to understand how I can improve. I take constructive criticism as an
opportunity to learn and grow, and I use it as a motivation to improve my performance. Overall, I
strive to be receptive and open-minded when receiving feedback or criticism, and use it to improve
myself both personally and professionally.
6. How do your greatest strengths benefit you both at work and in your personal life?
 My greatest strengths are my ability to communicate effectively, my strong work ethic, and my
adaptability. These strengths benefit me both at work and in my personal life by allowing me to build
strong relationships, take on new challenges, and overcome obstacles. In my professional life, my
communication skills enable me to collaborate effectively with colleagues and clients, while my
strong work ethic helps me to stay focused and meet deadlines. My adaptability allows me to adjust
to changing circumstances and take on new roles and responsibilities. In my personal life, my
strengths help me to maintain positive relationships with family and friends, take on new hobbies and
interests, and navigate life's challenges with resilience and determination. In short my greatest
strengths benefit me in all aspects of my life by helping me to build strong relationships, achieve my
goals, and live a fulfilling life.
7. What areas do you need to improve on right now.
 I am always looking for ways to improve myself both personally and professionally. At the moment,
I am working on improving my time management skills and my ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
I am also working on developing my leadership skills and becoming more confident in my decision-
making abilities. I believe that by focusing on these areas for improvement, I will be able to become
a more effective and successful person both at work and in my personal life.
8. When you start a new job, how do you adapt to the different working environment?
 As a person, when I start a new job, I adapt to the different working environment by being observant,
learning from my colleagues, and asking questions. I take the time to understand the company
culture, the team dynamic, and the expectations of my role. I am open-minded and willing to learn
new skills and techniques to be successful in my new position. I also make an effort to build positive
relationships with my colleagues and to contribute positively to the team dynamic. I believe that
adaptability, observation, and a willingness to learn are key factors in successfully adapting to a new
working environment.
9. How might you be misunderstood by others?
 I believe that I might be misunderstood by others if I don't communicate my thoughts and feelings
clearly enough. I tend to be introspective and thoughtful, and sometimes I may not express my ideas
or opinions as clearly as I would like. This can lead to misunderstandings or misinterpretations of
what I am trying to convey. However, I am aware of this tendency and make an effort to
communicate clearly and effectively. I also make myself available for questions and feedback to
ensure that others understand my perspective.
10. How does your biggest weakness hold you back at work?
 My biggest weakness is my tendency to take on too much and sometimes struggle with time
management. This weakness can hold me back at work by leading to stress, missed deadlines, and a
lack of focus on my priorities. However, I am aware of this weakness and actively work to manage
my time more effectively. I prioritize tasks, set realistic goals, and delegate when necessary. By
doing so, I am able to minimize the impact of this weakness on my work and ensure that I am able to
deliver high-quality results on time.
