1.0 INTRODUCTION

1.1 INTRODUCTION

The essence of life is water. A residential plumbing system is used to supply water services in
a house. This proposal is about house plumbing systems which can help us in understanding a
design, purpose, work and modification of the piping system. A complex network of pipes
including hot and cold water supply lines, fixtures, appliances, drain pipes, traps, vent pipes,
water storage tanks, etc. make up the home plumbing system. It is either hidden within the
walls or running along the walls

1.2 OBJECTIVE

• To capture and dump wastewater from the residence in an effective manner.

• Plumbing equipment, supplies, and craftsmanship must meet quality requirements.
• To guarantee that the material is completely safe for use at the anticipated operating
pressure, temperature, corrosion, and erosion

2.0 BACKGROUND STUDY

The goal of this research is to ascertain how the plumbing system in a home operates, and as
such, we will examine the point at which a pump is used to transport water from a large
reservoir (the storage tank) to a smaller reservoir (the bathroom, kitchen and laundry). Pumps
work to raise fluid pressure from low to high by absorbing the fluid energy that is provided to
them via a revolving shaft. Some big and small losses must occur in a pipe system; these losses
are known as "loss coefficients," and they must be incorporated in the calculation for
determining the pump's operating point.
3.0 PROBLEM STATEMENT

To calculate the energy loss and all the parameters in water flow the changes or the parameter
of these components are should be bold:
i. Vary diameter size of pipe
ii. Different shape of connecter pipe
iii. Types of flow in the pipe
iv. The viscosity of flows

5. CONCLUSION

We can conclude that we managed to finish the assignment completely. This is done due to
our group commitment and skills to solve the given question. We also learnt to apply
theoretical knowledge into redesign our own pumps with certain parameters. The theoretical
knowledge includes the manipulation of fluid energy by using pumps. Also, we learnt that a
portion of energy is lost due to resistance of flow which is called head loss due to friction.
The condition of the inside of a pipe also has an effect on the head loss. The rougher it is, the
higher the thicker the layer of non-moving or slow moving liquid near the pipe wall. With the
increase of fluid velocity meaning an increase in friction losses. Afterall, we need to be aware
that this solution and value are obtained approximately due to some factors such as the
mistake of using formula or miscalculation. In the nutshell, we experienced working with
each other to solve the problem given.
