1 - Crankshaft sprocket
q Contact surface between sprocket and crankshaft must be free of oil
q Can only be installed in one position
2 - Tensioner for toothed belt
3 - 10 Nm
4 - 42 Nm
5 - Tensioning lever
q Fit washer → Item underneath
6 - 42 Nm
7 - Washer for tensioning lever

8 - Tensioning roller
q Fit washer → Item underneath
9 - Flange bolt, 75 Nm
q Use counterhold tool -3036- when loosening and tightening → Fig.
10 - Camshaft sprocket for inlet camshaft (right-side)
q To remove and install, first remove toothed belt from camshaft sprockets → Chapter
q Remove using two-arm puller -T40001-
11 - Toothed belt
q Mark the rotation direction of the toothed belt with chalk or felt-tip pen before removing. If the
belt runs in the opposite direction when it is refitted, this can cause breakage
q Check for wear
q Removing → Chapter
q Installing (adjusting valve timing) → Anchor
12 - 10 Nm
13 - Coolant pump
q Removing and installing → Chapter
14 - 10 Nm
15 - Toothed belt cover (rear right)
16 - Toothed belt cover (rear centre)
17 - Toothed belt cover (rear left)
18 - Gasket
q Renew
19 - Camshaft sprocket for inlet camshaft (left-side)
q To remove and install, first remove toothed belt from camshaft sprockets → Chapter
q Remove using two-arm puller -T40001-
20 - Washer for tensioning roller
21 - Flange bolt, 75 Nm
q Use counterhold tool -3036- when loosening and tightening → Fig.
22 - Idler roller
23 - Toothed belt cover (bottom)
q Remove vibration damper prior to removing
24 - 10 Nm
25 - 45 Nm
26 - Spacer sleeve
27 - 200 Nm +180° (1/2 turn) further
q Renew
q Do not lubricate with oil

q Use locking pin -3242- when loosening and tightening

q Screwing in locking pin -3242- → Chapter

Loosening camshaft sprocket

– Use counterhold tool -3036- when
loosening and tightening central bolt.
