1 Apply the handbrake.

2 Position the wheel chocks.

Alternative 1 / 2
▶ Turn off the main switch.
Alternative 2 / 2 ‒ If the vehicle is equipped with ADR (European Agreement Concerning
the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road).
▶ Turn off the main switch.
4 Put the axle stands in place beneath the axles.
Note

Ensure that the parking brake is applied.


5 Remove the wheels.

6 Remove the wheels from the other side of the vehicle.


7 Mark the position.
8 Position the jack stands.
9 Position the jack stands.
Note

Ensure that the parking brake is applied.


10 Support the springs.

11 Tighten the screws.

Remove the screws at both sides.
13 Remove the plate at both sides.
14 Remove the nuts and washers.
15 Remove the clamps.

17 Remove the nut and washer.
18 Remove the stud.

Clean the contact surfaces.
24 Install the stud.
25 Torque tighten the stud.
Tightening torque
Spring cradle, stud 100 ±35 Nm
Required material
TORQUE WRENCH 88890148
26 Install the rubber bearing.
Note

Use a new part.


27 Install the cradle.
28 Install the rubber bearing.
Note

Use a new part.


29 Install the cone.
30 Install the washer and nut.
31 Torque tighten the nut.
Tightening torque
Spring cradle, nut 900 ±35 Nm

32 Install the springs.

33 Install the clamps.
34 Install the nuts and washers.
Note

Do not tighten the screws.


35 Align the spring.
Note

Ensure that the springs align to the centre of the cradle.


36 Remove the tools.
37 Install the plates at both sides.
38 Install the screws on both sides.
Note

Do not tighten the screws.


39 Torque tighten the nuts.

40 Remove the jack stands.


41 Torque tighten the screws.
Tightening torque
Spring plate, screw 85 ±15 Nm

42 Install the wheels.

43 Install the nuts.
44 Remove the jack stands.

45 Torque tighten the nuts.

Tightening torque

650 ±75 Nm

46 Install the cap.
47 Remove the wheel chocks.
