A raised vehicle which has not been properly secured can cause serious damage.
▶ Only use jack stands with adequate rating.
▶ Verify that jacks and jack stands are fault-free.
▶ DO NOT work under or around a vehicle until it is supported on jack stands.

1 Position the axle.


2 Install the screws on both sides.
3 Install the washers and nuts on both sides.
4 Install the screws.
5 Install the washers.
6 Install the nuts.
Note

Use new parts.

7 Torque tighten the nuts.


Tightening torque
V-stay rod, nut 750 ±120 Nm
Tightening torque
Required material
TORQUE_WRENCH 88890150

8 Install the screws on both sides.


9 Install the spacers on both sides.
10 Install the plates on both sides.
11 Torque tighten the screws on both sides.
Tightening torque
Spring plate, screw 85 ±15 Nm
Tightening torque

Required material
TORQUE WRENCH 88890149

12 Connect the connectors.


13 Install the cable ties.
14 Install the hoses.
15 Install the pipe.
16 Connect the front side of propeller shaft.
17 Install the screws.
Tightening torque
Transmission, screws Screw M14
160 ±20 Nm
Required material
TORQUE_WRENCH 88890150 1 pc
Note
Always use new screws and nuts.

18 Lift the axle.


19 Raise the vehicle.
20 Position the jack stands.
Note

Ensure that the handbrake is applied.


21 Connect the rear side of propeller shaft.
22 Install the screws.
Tightening torque
Transmission, screws Screw M14
160 ±20 Nm
Required material
TORQUE_WRENCH 88890150
Note

Always use new screws and nuts.


23 Install the wheels.
Required material
WHEEL EQUIPMENT 9999676
24 Install the nuts.
25 Remove the jack stands.

26 Torque tighten the nuts.

Tightening torque
Wheel, nut Tightening sequence: 1-10
Tightening torque
650 ±75 Nm

27 Install the cap.
28 Remove the wheel chocks.

29 Install the fenders on both sides.


30 Lock the straps on both sides..
31 Install the drain plug.
32 Torque tighten the screw.
Tightening torque
Drain plug 80 – 100 Nm

TORQUE WRENCH 88890148
33 Remove the filler plug.
34 Fill the oil into the differential.
35 Install the fill plug.
36 Torque tighten the filler plug.
Tightening torque
Fill, plug, screw 80 – 100 Nm

TORQUE WRENCH 88890148
37 Connect the nipple (A).

CONNECTOR 9992976
38 Fill with air.

Conditions
● If the vehicle is equipped with ADR.
▶ Turn on the main switch.

Check the pneumatic system pressure.
Tech data
Pneumatic system, minimum pressure 7 – 7.5 bar
Note

Ensure that the handbrake is released.

41 Perform this procedure when the condition below is met.


Conditions
● If the pressure is less than the specification.
▶ Fill the pneumatic system.
42 Tighten the screw.
Note

Ensure that the screw is fully tightened.

43 Turn the screw 270° anti-clockwise.


44 Install a wrench on the screw.
Note

Use a piece of paper on the screw to lock the wrench.


45 Apply the brake 20 times.
Note

Ensure that the system pressure is according to specification before each


application of the brake.
Note

The wrench shall move only clockwise. If a different movement is detected, the
brake lever must be replaced.

46 Apply the brake 10 more times to set the clearance.


47 Remove the tool.
