1 Apply the handbrake.

Position the wheel chocks.

A raised vehicle which has not been properly secured can cause serious damage.
▶ Only use jack stands with adequate rating.
▶ Verify that jacks and jack stands are fault-free.
▶ DO NOT work under or around a vehicle until it is supported on jack stands.

Place the jack stand under the propeller shaft.
4 Remove the screws.
5 Disconnect the propeller shaft.
6 Lower the propeller shaft.
7 Install the tool.

8 Remove the screws.


9 Install the tool.

Remove the companion flange.

Place the jack stand under the propeller shaft.
12 Remove the screws.
Note

Mark the holes where the screws are mounted.


13 Remove the bracket.

14 Remove the rubber cushion.


15 Remove the bearing.

16 Remove the dust cover.
17 Install the dust cover.
18 Install the bearing.
Required material
HOLLOW DRIFT 9992608
19 Install the rubber cushion.
20 Install the bracket.
21 Install the screws.
Note

Ensure that the screws are installed at the holes marked.

22 Torque tighten the screws.


Tightening torque
Propeller shaft guard, screw 175 ±30 Nm
Required material
TORQUE WRENCH 88890149
23 Place the flange.
24 Install the screws.
25 Install the tool.
Required material
COUNTERHOLD 9998570
26 Tighten according to specifications.
Tightening torque
Intermediate bearing, screw 105 ±15 Nm
Required material
TORQUE WRENCH 88890148
27 Apply a bead of sealant around the tip of the screws.
Required material
Glue, tape, sealant and locking fluid
28 Install the propeller shaft.
29 Install the screws and nuts.
30 Torque tighten the screws.
Tightening torque
Transmission, screw Screw M14
160 ±20 Nm
Required material
TORQUE_WRENCH 88890150
Note

Always use new screws and nuts.
