GLD20:Google Sites Pathways Culminating

You will be required to prepare a personal Educational and Career Path Culminating Project. This is an
opportunity to make some plans for your post-secondary education or training, and possibly a specific
occupation in a field of work that you may be interested in pursuing one day.

GOOGLE SITE
Create your website:
● Head to your google drive and select “CREATE” and then “SITE”. Name your site “your first name, your last
name, careers”
● Create and name all of your tabs (see below, 6 in total)
● Make sure that your Google site is available to anyone in the PDSB so that we may access it.
● Check out the rubric now, and as you proceed.

Please organize your Google site into the following tabs:

TAB 1: HOME SCREEN


All about you! You’ve learned a lot about yourself over the semester. Make sure to include the following
(but not limited to):
● A summary of your personality tests that are relevant to you (i.e., 16 personalities, My Blueprint
surveys, true colours, etc.)
● Anything else that might “WOW” somebody who doesn’t know you such as;
○ Awards and certifications
○ Interests and hobbies, etc.

TABS 2 & 3: PATHWAYS 1 & 2


● What high school courses do I need in order to pursue each pathway?
● How do you get into the pathway you want to pursue?
● Are there fees associated with this process?
● Are there important dates/deadlines associated with your program/pathway?
● Provide two different opportunities within each tab. (i.e. 2 different opportunities per pathway)

What are some pathways I can explore?

Apprenticeship, University, College, Talent (Arts, Sports, Etc.), Military, Certifications for Workplace.

TAB 4: FINANCIAL LITERACY


● What are the costs associated with each opportunity (i.e. enrollment, tuition, books, etc.)?
● How do you plan to pay for your postsecondary opportunity? (i.e. OSAP, RESP, bank loans,
scholarship, bursary, grants, etc.)
● Provide 2 examples of scholarships/bursaries/grants that I would be eligible for.
● Provide a pros vs. cons list of staying at home as opposed to moving out - minimum of 3 per
category.
TAB 5: STARTING CAREER (JOB)
Now is the time to learn a little bit about your dream career. Create this page with the following
information:
● Provide high school course plan (screenshot MyBluePrint)
● Provide a job description:
○ salary & wages
○ 5 duties of the job
○ work environment
○ 2 potential job stresses
● Make connections between tabs 2 & 3 to your selected job.
● Any additional certifications to fulfill the requirements for this job.

TAB 6: LIFE GOALS


It’s important to know what will fulfill your values and make you happy and satisfied in the long run.

● Map out a 10 year plan (i.e. goal salary, vacation/travel/experiences, family,


property/investments, etc.) -Include a minimum of 5 goals
