Fuel System Design Data Sheet for the Alstom Gas Turbines GT13E2 and
GT13E2 MXL within the Single Cycle Power Plant Zawia Extension
The scope of the present document is to provide a reference containing data relevant to the fuel system, necessary
for auxiliary systems interfaces purposes.
Standard design data for the fuel system valid for every GT13E2 gas turbine are given together with other data,
depending on project specific conditions, e.g. site conditions (ambient temperature and pressure ranges), fuel gas
composition and options implemented.
In this document performance data are calculated for GT13E2 MXL. The data for GT13E2 are similar or less
critical. In addition the maximum possible mass flows at base load are provided in case the engine will be operated
with M-rating (increased firing temperature)
The pressure loss calculation is based on the hardware configuration of the fuel system, shown in paragraph 6.
The figures given in this document are valid for fuels within the limits given in the specification:
HTCT 71 284 Rev.D Fuel specification for Alstom Gas Turbines equipped with low emission EV burners

2 PRESSURE DEFINITIONS
System design pressure:
Maximum allowable pressure in the system. This pressure is resulting from the rating of gas system hardware
(pressure class of piping and valves etc.) and it is standard.
1
A content more than 3% by volume requests appropriate material changes in the fuel system. Above 0,015% content of H2S, the fuel gas has
to be preheated to avoid condensation. If fuel contains also water vapour much lower H2S concentrations are corrosive.

Fuel Gas Filter Skid at piping interface (MBP10/721): 31.1 bar a (ON HOLD)
From contractual point the fuel gas pressure level available on site is high enough, therefore the fuel gas pressure
dependency on ambient temperature is not required and not implemented for Zawia Extension project.
On the contrary reduced Control valve KVS values are required in order to reduce the available pressure to an
acceptable level being no Reduction Station installed. Since gas is not yet available on site, changes in supply
pressure and gas composition are expected.
