The chart shows the proportion of donation contributions by Canadians of

different ages for the years 2000 and 2015.

In common, the ratio of Canadians gave more money to charitable

organisations in 2000 than in 2015. However, the donor rate didn’t stable among
all age groups in terms of trends over time.

In 2000, the proportion of Canadians made charitable donations reached the

highest point of nearly 40% in the 35-to-49 age group to a low of 20% in the 18-to-
24 age group. By 2015, these figures had slightly lower at 34% and 11%
respectively. The rate of donors among the population aged 25 to 34 went down
sharply around 4% between 2000 and 2015.

Also notable is the disparity between the two generations in 2000 and 2015.
Whereas the proportion of donors aged 18 to 49 declined between 2000 and 2015,
an upward treand was seen for older Canadians. The percentage of elderly people
in Canadia rose gradually just over 37%, which was the highest ratio for 2015. The
number for older aged from 65 and over was lower than the figure mentioned but it
was still a minimally higher than 2000.
