1. Remove the plug from grease exhaust port.

NOTE If grease is injected with the plug on, the grease will go inside the motor and may cause a
damage. Never fail to remove the plug before the grease injection.

2. Remove the plug from the grease inlet. Install the grease zerk PT1/4, and inject the
grease into the grease inlet using a grease gun. (The grease zerk PT1/4 is delivered
with the manipulator.)

Grease type: Molywhite RE No.00
Amount of grease: 1200 cc
(2400 cc for 1st supply)

3. Move the S-axis for a few minutes to discharge the excess grease from the grease
exhaust port.
4. Wipe off the discharged grease with clothes and reinstall the plug on the grease
exhaust port. Tighten the plug with a tightening torque :4.9 N·m (0.5 kgf·m) for the plug
PT1/8 or 24.5 N·m (2.5 kgf·m) for the plug PT3/8.
(Apply ThreeBond 1206C on the thread part of the plug.)
5. Remove the grease zerk on the grease inlet, and reinstall the plug. Tighten the plug
with a tightening torque of 4.9 N·m (0.5 kgf·m).
(Apply ThreeBond 1206C on the thread part of the plug.)

5.1.2 Grease Exchange (Refer to " Fig. 11 S-axis Speed


Reducer and Gear Diagram ".)
1. Remove the plug from the grease exhaust port.

NOTE If grease is injected with the plug on, the grease will go inside the motor and may cause a
damage. Never fail to remove the plug before the grease injection.

2. Remove the plug from the grease inlet. Install the grease zerk PT1/4, and inject the
grease into the grease inlet using a grease gun.
(The grease zerk PT1/4 is delivered with the manipulator.).

Grease type: Molywhite RE No.00


Amount of grease: 7000 cc

3. The grease exchange is completed when new grease appears in the grease exhaust
port. (The new grease can be distinguished from the old grease by color.)
4. Move the S-axis for a few minutes to discharge the excess grease from the grease
exhaust port.
5. Wipe off the discharged grease with clothes and reinstall the plug on the grease
exhaust port. Tighten the plug with a tightening torque :4.9 N·m (0.5 kgf·m) for the plug
PT1/8 or 24.5 N·m (2.5 kgf·m) for the plug PT3/8.
(Apply ThreeBond 1206C on the thread part of the plug.)

NOTE If the plug is installed when the grease is being exhausted, the grease will go inside the
motor and may damage it.

6. Remove the grease zerk on the grease inlet, and reinstall the plug. Tighten the plug
with a tightening torque of 4.9 N·m (0.5 kgf·m).
(Apply ThreeBond 1206C on the thread part of the plug.)

3. Remove the plug from the grease inlet. Install the grease zerk PT1/8, and inject the
grease into the grease inlet using a grease gun.

Amount of grease: 280 cc
(560 cc for 1st supply)

4. Move the L-axis for a few minutes to discharge the excess grease from the grease
exhaust port.
5. Wipe off the discharged grease with clothes and reinstall the plug on the grease
exhaust port. Tighten the plug with a tightening torque :4.9 N·m (0.5 kgf·m) for the plug
PT1/8 or 24.5 N·m (2.5 kgf·m) for the plug PT3/8.
(Apply ThreeBond 1206C on the thread part of the plug.)
6. Remove the grease zerk on the grease inlet, and reinstall the plug. Tighten the plug
with a tightening torque of 4.9 N·m (0.5 kgf·m).
(Apply ThreeBond 1206C on the thread part of the plug.)

1. Make the L-arm vertical to the ground.

4. Move the U-axis for a few minutes to discharge the excess grease from the grease
exhaust port.
5. Wipe off the discharged grease with clothes and reinstall the plug on the grease
exhaust port. Tighten the plug with a tightening torque of 4.9 N·m (0.5 kgf·m).
(Apply ThreeBond 1206C on the thread part of the plug.)
6. Remove the grease zerk on the grease inlet, and reinstall the plug. Tighten the plug
with a tightening torque of 4.9 N·m (0.5 kgf·m).
(Apply ThreeBond 1206C on the thread part of the plug.)

5.3.2 Grease Exchange (Refer to " Fig. 13 U-axis Speed

1. Make the U-arm horizontal to the ground.
2. Remove the plug from the grease exhaust port.

motor and may damage it.

7. Remove the grease zerk on the grease inlet, and reinstall the plug. Tighten the plug
with a tightening torque of 4.9 N·m (0.5 kgf·m).

1. Remove the plug from the grease exhaust port.

NOTE If grease is injected with the plug on, the grease will go outside the grease box and may
cause a damage. Never fail to remove the plug before the grease injection.

2. Remove the plug from the grease inlet. Install the grease zerk PT1/8, and inject the
grease into the grease inlet using a grease gun.
(The grease zerk PT1/8 is delivered with the manipulator.

Grease type: Molywhite RE No.00


Amount of grease: 300 cc
(600 cc for 1st supply)

3. Move the R-, B-, T-axes for a few minutes to discharge the excess grease.
4. Wipe off the discharged grease with clothes and reinstall the plug on the grease
exhaust port. Tighten the plug with a tightening torque of 4.9 N·m (0.5 kgf·m).
(Apply ThreeBond 1206C on the thread part of the plug.)
5. Remove the grease zerk on the grease inlet, and reinstall the plug. Tighten the plug
with a tightening torque of 4.9 N·m (0.5 kgf·m).

5.4.2 Grease Replenishment for R-axis Speed Reducer

5. Remove the grease zerk on the grease inlet, and reinstall the plug. Tighten the plug
with a tightening torque of 4.9 N·m (0.5 kgf·m).

1. Remove the plug from the grease exhaust port.

5.5 Grease Replenishment for Balancer Connection

1. Remove the plugs and hexagon socket head cap screws from exhaust ports and
grease inlets 1 and 2 at the connection parts.
(Refer to " Fig. 15 Balancer Connection Diagram ").
2. Install the grease zerk PT1/8 on the grease inlets 1 and 2 at the connection parts,
and inject the grease into the grease inlet using a grease gun.
(The grease zerk PT1/8 is delivered with the manipulator.)

Grease type: Alvania EP grease 2


Amount of grease: 5 cc
(10 cc for 1st supply)

The exhaust ports 1 and 2 are for the AIR flow; the grease is not exhausted from those
NOTE ports.
Do not inject excessive grease into the grease inlets.

3. Reinstall the plugs and hexagon socket head cap screws on the exhaust ports 1
and 2 at the conncetion parts. Tighten the plugs and the screws with a tightening
torque of 4.9 N·m (0.5 kgf·m).
(Apply ThreeBond 1206C on the thread parts of the plugs and screws.)
4. Replace the grease zerk with plugs on the grease inlets 1 and 2 at the conncetion
parts. Tighten the plugs with a tightening torque of 4.9 N·m (0.5 kgf·m).
(Apply ThreeBond 1206C on the thread parts of the plugs.)
