Stella, a seventeen-year-old cystic fibrosis patient, spends the majority of her
time in the hospital. Her life is full of rituals, boundaries, and self-control, all of
which are tested when she meets Will, an impossibly charming youngster who
suffers from the same ailment. There's an instant attraction, but the rules state
that they must keep a safe distance between them. As their attraction grows
stronger, so does the temptation to throw the rules out the window and
embrace it.

The application of ethics and morality from the story are some small children might
not understand this and might find it disturbing. In addition to the violent and
distressing scenes mentioned above, Five Feet Apart has some scenes that could scare
or disturb children aged 5-8 years. For example, Stella and Will watch as Po dies. Besides
that, Five Feet Apart is a book that will move you to tears, it is heart-felt and gives light
to the seriousness of cystic fibrosis. I liked how the authors included a lot of detail,
writing about the daily struggles and tasks that CFers have to go through.

The inner conflict of one of the protagonists, Will, a cystic fibrosis patient, as he
tries to save his partner Stella from dying by giving her CPR, is promising. CF
patients are told to be six feet apart from each other as the infection might get
transferred to each other. Moreover, Five Feet Apart revolves around a disease-
