Tourism is one of the most important economic activities in the world, due to the huge

amount of money that is moved by the businesses that are generated as a result of it.
However, not everyone agrees that tourism is a good idea, because there have been several
incidents regarding these businesses. I think tourism is very important and has more
advantages than disadvantages.

Although tourism brings many benefits, the reality is that, due to the construction of hotels,
resorts, etc., these construction activities often produce smog, which directly affects the ozone
layer. In addition, the advance of the constructions causes more space to be occupied,
affecting the natural landscapes. This is serious problem due to the constant increase in
environmental pollution.

Nevertheless, these days governments have conservation plans for natural reserves, so the
risks to which they are exposed are considerably reduced. Also, for people, getting to know
new places helps to clear their minds and relax them, despite spending some monetary
savings.

Based on the comparison between the advantages and disadvantages, I still consider that
tourism has a more than positive impact on our society. The advantages are more significant
than the disadvantages, even though it is necessary that governmental entities know how to
take care of the patrimony and can prevent any attack against it.
