CALENDAR
RELEVANCE OF THE STUDENT’S DIARY
The ALMANAC of SRI VIDYA VIHAR SCHOOL is a vital means of on-

going communication for teachers, students, and parents. It has a primary role in
ensuring maximum benefit for the pupils by serving as an essential record in a
student's life.
The almanac may be used to address a variety of issues, and timely inter-
ventions by the parents and teachers. It registers pertinent information relating
to the overall performance, activities and well-being of the students. In addition,
it is also used for continuous communication between the school and parents.
It is imperative that parents refer to the almanac and acknowledge the

written entries regularly to apprise of themselves about the day-to-day
assignments, events, notices and other important instructions.
On all working days, it is mandatory for the students to carry the Almanac
to school and take it back home without fail. It must be shown to the teachers
and the parents every day.
It is very important that the school is notified of any change in the

personal details of the student like address, phone numbers etc. immediately.

each child is unique. We, at Sri Vidya Vihar School, have this conviction that each child’s
inner beauty and energy needs to be unraveled to enable him to scale his optimum cre-
ative heights. Children growing with self-esteem and confidence will be truly liberated
to build a harmonious world. They will be thinkers, creators and path breakers. They

For late comers

The school gates will be closed after 8:15 a.m., students coming late will be given
one warning and after that, they will be sent back home. Parents are advised to
maintain punctuality in sending their wards to school.
In case the child is late, parents are requested to hand over the child at the reception
with a request letter mentioning the reason for being late. Late comers should not
be handed over to the security personnel at the gate.

**Meeting with the principal on all working days will be held with prior
appointment only.

SCHEME OF EDUCATION
ATTENDANCE
1. To get the best from the school for their ward, parents are required to
cooperate with the institution in its attempt to help their children progress by
paying attention to their regularity, punctuality and discipline and to taking
interest in their child's work.
2. Students must be present in the school at least 5 minutes prior to the first bell.
It is compulsory for all students to attend the Prayer/Assembly in the morning.
3. It is obligatory for students to attend every class as per the timetable.
4. Any student falling short of 60% attendance will not be promoted to next class
at the end of the academic year. Parents are requested to verify the attendance
of their ward regularly, especially during parent-teacher meetings.
5. Students will not be allowed to go home during school hours. Parents are
advised not to make any social engagements or medical appointments during
working hours. To ensure better discipline parents are requested not to send
their ward to school on the day they have such appointments.
LEAVE OF ABSENCE
1. Parents should fill up the leave record for each day the student is absent from
school stating the reasons for absence.
2. For up to 2 days of leave; the parent needs to send a note in the Almanac and in
case of more than 2 days; a Leave Application or an email has to be sent to the
Principal with a medical certificate, where necessary.
3. No child shall leave the school premises during regular school hours. Half day
leave will not be allowed. No permissions with telephonic calls. Appointment
with doctors and other engagements should not be fixed during school hours.
4. All students returning to school after suffering from an infectious or contagious
disease should produce a doctor's certificate to be endorsed by the school.
5. Students who require medical attention during school hours will be taken to
school clinic, with a note in the ALMANAC.
6. Repeated or unexplained absence for a month renders the student liable to have
his name struck off the rolls. Re-admission may be granted only at the discretion
of the management.

7. All students are expected to attend school on the opening day after each
vacation. Those absent because of sickness must present a medical certificate
before they may be admitted to class.
WITHDRAWALS
1. If the child has to be withdrawn from the school in the middle of the academic
year and to obtain a Transfer certificate, the tuition fee and all other fees for the
academic year should be paid.
2. For withdrawal of a child at the end of the academic year, the application should
reach the office by the 28th of February of the same year or tuition fees for the
number of days attended will be charged. No transfer certificates will be issued
until all school dues are cleared.
3. A fee of Rs 200/- will be charged for the issue of a duplicate copy of the
Transfer certificate after the parent submits an affidavit about the loss of the
original certificate.
4. Transfer Certificates for reasons like indiscipline, defaulting fees, or
unsatisfactory academic progress will be issued purely at the discretion of the
management of the school.
BONAFIDE
Processing for a Bonafide Certificate takes two working days. Written application
to be given two days in advance.
SCHOOL FEES
1. Parents are requested to pay the school fees within the specified period for each
quarter as mentioned below –
I Term 15th March – 15th April

II Term 1st July - 31st July
III Term 1st Nov - 30th Nov
2. After the due date, fees may be deposited with a fine of Rs. 25/- per day for up to
two weeks, which will be considered as late fee.

Non-Payment of fees after the late fee day will force the school authorities to not
permit the child for the exams and to strike off the name of the student from the
roll without prior notice.
3. Fees once deposited will not be refunded in any case.
4. Additional services like Transport and Lunch facilities will be provided only on a
prior payment basis. These services will be stopped if the payment is not made on
time for the consecutive term and will resume only after the lunch and/or transport
fees is paid.

EDUCATIONAL TRIPS
The school organizes day-long educational field trips from time to time with a
view to developing off-campus learning involving students in inquiry-based and
problem-solving projects. This brings excitement and adventure to learning.

HOUSE SYSTEM & CLUBS
The School students are divided into four houses. Each House is under the charge
of a House Warden and has students as House Captains and Vice-Captains, who
are responsible for organization and discipline. All competitions in games and
co-curricular activities are held on the ‘House’ basis.
The House system forges bonds of loyalty, fosters better student-teacher relation-
ships, encourages discipline, and stimulates greater team spirit.
CLUB SYSTEM:
School Clubs not only help students shape their personal interests and hobbies but
also improve their leadership & social skills. Under the guidance of able and enthu-
siastic teachers, these clubs serve as a platform for students to prove themselves in
various fields other than academics. We offer 4 clubs.
ECO CLUB: To promote transformation from unsustainable to sustainable
development.
DRAMATICS CLUB: To develop language and communication skills along with
emotional intelligence.
HOME SCIENCE CLUB: To encourage the learners for 'better living' by imparting
the education pertaining to person, home, family and resources.
CULTURAL CLUB: To help children to discover their talents in music, dance and
art.

AWARDS
Recognition of proficiency and talent goes a long way to enhance confidence and
boost the morale of students. SRI VIDYA VIHAR SCHOOL recognizes such out-
standing students in various categories in each Grade.
On the basis of the student's performance in Assessments/Assignments Exams/
Activities, the following prizes or certificates will be awarded.

CODE OF CONDUCT
To sustain a healthy learning environment, all the stakeholders must acknowledge
their respective responsibilities and conduct themselves accordingly. A certain
standard of conduct is expected from teachers, students, and parents.
The Code of Conduct strives to provide a framework for orderly and purposeful
education but with enjoyment and fellowship with peers as an added advantage.
It indicates the broad standards of behaviour that are expected of all parents and
students at the school and encourages a responsible and self-disciplined approach,
rather than a punitive one based on fear.
CODE OF CONDUCT - STUDENT:

Punctuality:
• Students should bring their ALMANAC to school every day. Be aware of
discipline policies, regulations, and rules. Follow school rules and contribute to
a positive school climate by behaving appropriately on all occassions.
• Students are expected to arrive before the time. Punctuality is insisted on at all
times; coming to school and attending classes and activities.
• Leaving the school premises without the principal's permission is strictly not
allowed. Disciplinary action will be initiated against any student found missing
from the class or school without permission.
• No student will remain on campus or in the classroom after the bell has been
rung at dispersal or when the students have classes in other classrooms like
Arts/P.E./Music/Dance/Yoga, etc.
• Students who come with their attendants should not leave before the attendant
arrives. In case of delay, they should report to the school office.
• Long leave due to illness or any emergency should be notified to the principal’s
office.
School Uniform
• Students must come to school in the uniform specified. The school uniform
should be worn on all working days and school functions. Students who are
slovenly or not in proper uniform will be sent home.
• Students' hair must be kept clean and tidy at all times.

BOYS - Hair Length: Hair should not touch eyebrows (if pulled down), should
no go over the ears or the collar, and not be longer than 5cm (if pushed up).
Sideburns should not extend further than mid-ear.
GIRLS - They should always make two plaits/single plait. Those with short
hair should use black hair bands to tie up their hair neatly in a ponytail. All girls
from Nursery to high school must wear Black cycling shorts.
• Earrings should be small hoops or studs. Bangles, rings, bracelets, anklets with
bells and tattoos of any kind are not permitted.
• Shoes for all boys and girls - Black Sports Campus Shoes and Black calf-length
Socks.
• Students are forbidden to bring valuable articles such as jewellery, costly pens,
mobile phones etc, to school. Students are not permitted to carry money to
school except for lunch coupons, when applicable.
• The Sports Uniform will be of the house colour. T-Shirt with the school logo on
the front and the track pants will be of navy-blue.
• Sports Shoes for P.E. - White sports campus shoes and White socks. (Shoes
preferably with Velcro and socks should be of calf length.
• In winter, students can wear a Navy Blue cardigan only.
• No lines/cuts/hair spikes/ fringes are allowed.
• No dyes/streaks/colors/highlights are allowed.
• Non-veg food and cakes are not allowed on the school premise.
Language and Behaviour :
• Students should always be respectful and courteous to fellow students, parents/
guardians, and teaching and non-teaching staff.
• They are required to speak only in English within the school premises. The
students should maintain decorum and silence during assembly and should
maintain it in other areas of the school too.
• Use of foul language, obscene gestures, racial and impolite language, or actions
will not be encouraged.
• The school reserves the right to suspend students whose conduct is deemed
harmful to other students after three written warnings or counseling.
• Damage to school property, school equipment, or furniture will be
appropriately dealt with.

• They should conduct themselves with due respect during visits of dignitaries to
the school.
• Students should approach someone in authority, should they have concerns
about someone or some issues, rather than to take their own independent
actions.
• Students are instructed not to play in any other area except the playground.
The cost of repairs caused by damage to school property will be charged to the
students concerned.
BIRTHDAY CELEBRATIONS
• Students must come in regular school uniform only, even on their birthdays. Only
biscuits/fruits are to be brought for distribution in class. No return gifts are allowed.
No cake-cutting will be entertained for any student, irrespective of their grade.
SCHOOL TRANSPORT
The school has a fleet of buses to carry students to and from the school under escort.
Parents are requested to decide at the time of admission if their ward wants to avail of
the transport services.
• Students using the school transport facility must reach their given bus stop five
minutes before the given time.
• The bus timings may vary in the initial weeks till the route is stabilized. Also, the
pick-up and drop timings may fluctuate depending on the traffic.
• In case the transport service has to be discontinued, one month's prior notice must
be submitted. Students availing the transport facility will not be allowed to discon-
tinue in the last quarter.
• Any change in address/ transport route should be informed three days in advance.
Parents must pay the difference in the Transport Fee, if applicable, before availing
it. Application form for the same is available in the school office.
• If the child happens to use own transport (parent coming to pick/drop) on any
particular day, the respective bus conductor must be informed about this in
advance. In case you want the bus route changed, even for a day, a written note
should be submitted in advance.
• The bus facility of defaulters will otherwise be suspended/ cancelled.

• Students are expected to act in a disciplined manner when travelling to and from
school. No objects should be thrown or discarded from the vehicle. No kind of
interaction with strangers or passers-by is allowed from the school vehicle.
• They must follow the safety rules and regulations. While the buses are in motion
students must not move around in the bus. They should not put their hands/ heads
outside the window.
• Damaging or tearing of seats/seat by scribbling/ scratching, and any misbehaviour
in school buses will be strictly dealt with.
• Usage of abusive language, bullying, or littering in the buses is strictly prohibited.
• The students of primary classes will be taken care of by the attendants and are to be
seated in the first half of the bus, while the older ones can be seated behind.
• The teacher and attendants on the bus are responsible for the discipline and
cleanliness of the bus. For any complaint from the driver, attendants, or teacher in
the bus against any student, necessary action will be taken or the transport facility
shall be withdrawn.
• The school buses will stop at the designated bus stops and not anywhere else
during the course of travel. Students are not permitted to buy eatables and drinks
from the wayside shops.
• Students are not allowed to sit in the parked buses during school hours.
• Children will be picked up at the main road pick-up points and dropped at home.
SCHOOL LIBRARY:
The school library is open to all students of the school. All grades are provided with at
least one library period a week.
Students have to observe the following rules:
1. Each student is issued one book at a time for a period of one week.
2. They must maintain absolute silence in the library.
3. If the books are returned late, the borrowing facility will be withdrawn for two
weeks.
4. Books lost, disfigured or damaged will have to be replaced or paid for, by the
borrower.
5. Students are not allowed to bring their personal books or belongings to the library.
6. Any child found damaging or defacing a book regularly will be debarred from the
library.

7. Records of library books read must be mentioned in the ALMANAC with their
observations.
DISCIPLINARY ACTION
Any misbehaviour or violation of school discipline will be dealt with by the disci-
plinary committee and corrective action will be taken. Corporal punishments are
discouraged, but other forms of punishment will be given. In extreme cases, parents
will be called in to discuss their child's behaviour which may lead to suspension
or expulsion from the school. Parents must work with the School Management to
improve the child's behaviour.

CODE OF CONDUCT: PARENTS
• Parents are expected to support the Principal, Teachers, and administrative staff
in their decisions in their child's best interest.
• To assist the school in its smooth functioning, parents are requested to pay the
school fees on time.
• Parents are not permitted to meet the ward or teacher during working hours,
without permission of the principal. They are refrained from entering the class-
room during class hours.
• All PTMs must be attended punctually. Also, parents are encouraged to attend
all other school functions.

• Parents will receive message from the school regarding important information.
• Parents are expected to take care of the personal hygiene of their ward. Ensure
he/she is well groomed every day.
• Parents are requested to read the School Almanac daily, sign it promptly and
guide their wards in completing the given assignments and submitting them on
time. Retain all the given circulars that are issued for reference purposes. This
parental interest will be effective in the progress of the child.
• The school is not responsible for the loss of any personal belongings. However,
inquiries can be made at the office.
• Any information that the parents need, can be gathered only from school
authorities.
• Any sort of complaints/suggestions regarding school matters should be handed
over to the principal and not to the class teachers.
• Parents must collect the report cards on the given dates only. Report cards will
not be posted or sent through students/relatives.
• Details like date, DOB given at the time of admission will not be changed under
any circumstances.
• Parents are requested to immediately notify the school about any changed
address/ telephone number in person by filling out the application form
available at the reception desk and help the school handle emergencies,
maintain communication and keep school records updated.
VISITORS
For security reasons, all visitors/ parents should report at the main gate to ob-
tain the visitor pass and then proceed to the Administration Office. Obtaining
permission from the front office is mandatory to meet the school staff or students.
Meeting with the Principal/Teachers shall only be with prior appointment, and on
the stipulated date and time only.

हम इसके लघुतम जल कण, बनते मिटते हैं क्षण-क्षण ।

अपना अस्तित्व मिटाकर, तन मन धन करते अर्पण ।

बढते जाने का शुभ प्रण, प्राणों से हमको प्यारा ॥१॥

इस धारा में घुल मिलकर, वीरों की राख बही है ।

इस धारा में कितने ही, ऋषियों ने शरण ग्रही है ।

इस धारा की गोदी में, खेला इतिहास हमारा ॥२॥
