Welcome Message

　　On behalf of the Taiwan Responsible Care Association, I welcome you to the 17th
Asia Pacific Responsible Care Virtual Conference hosted by TRCA on December 1-2.

　　 APRCC has a tradition of meetings hosted by different national associations to

experience different customs in other countries biennially, to share our experiences in
Responsible Care implementation, and our efforts in safety, health, environment, and
sustainability. For the 17th APRCC, supposed to be held in 2021, TRCA is looking
forward to welcoming representatives from 17 countries of the Asia Pacific
Responsible Care Organization (APRO) in Taiwan and happily holding the biennial
event. After a one-year delay and waiting, due to the impact of the COVID-19
pandemic, we are truly glad to finally get the opportunity to meet you all online,
instead of face-to-face, which is a pity to say. However, we shall save our heartfelt
welcome for your visit to Taiwan until the very next time.

　　 The theme of APRCC 2022 is “Responsible Care—Care for Society through Self-
Discipline and Responsibility.” Through self-discipline and continuous improvement in
our performance in safety, health, environment, and sustainability, we can achieve our
goal of caring for society. We believe giant leaps often start with small steps.
Therefore, the global chemical industry is actively working hard to meet and even go
beyond the legal requirements, hoping that we can finally overcome the challenges of
climate change, become a solution provider, and fulfill our responsibility as a member
of the global village.

　 　 We welcome partners interested in 2050 Net Zero Transition, Sustainability,

Chemical Management, Process Safety, and Responsible Care to attend the
conference. Whether you are an employee in the chemical industry or a friend who
cares about these issues, we look forward to meeting you online on December 1-2.

　　I wish you and your family good health and a safe plant operation. Look forward

APRCC 2022 In Brief

APRCC in brief
The first Asia Pacific Responsible Care Conference meeting was held in Hong
Kong in 1995. For the past 27 years, APRO members have been adhering to
the spirit of Responsible Care and continuously improving our performance in
safety, health, environment, and sustainability. Experiences are exchanged
with each other through the biennial APRCC.

Who Should Attend

Echoing the spirit of Responsible Care on non-confidential sharing of health, safety,

environment, and sustainability practices, the APRCC hopes to gather all Responsible Care
practitioners from the chemical and chemical-related industries in this region for a valuable
networking session of ideas and information exchange.

• Senior, Mid-level Management and Engineers

This will be the only platform to hear from global and regional chemical industry leaders
about the implementation of the Responsible Care program. It will serve as a guide to
excite and inspire the next generation of engineers on their path to continuing
Responsible Care and business sustainability.

• Chemical industry players who have not yet joined the Responsible Care program.
Implementing a Responsible Care program improves health, safety, and environmental
performance, while also improving business operations and sustainability. It is a unique
program for the chemical industry influencing changes in safety culture and mindset. This
provides peers in the industry with a network of mutual assistance and encouragement.
