and usage
 Confident in their ability to understand and use technical terms
 Apply critical thinking skills to evaluate technical terms used in
language research
CONTENT STANDARD The learner demonstrates understanding of how literature and other texts
types serve as instruments to resolve social conflicts, also how to use the
language of research, campaigns, and advocacies.
PERFORMANCE STANDARD The learner competently presents a research report on a relevant socio-
cultural issue.

Begin the lesson by asking students to share their personal experiences with
language research. Have they ever conducted any research related to
language? If so, what was the topic and what did they learn? If not, have they
read any research articles related to language?

 Explain (20 minutes) What is Language?

Language is a system of communication that uses words, symbols, grammar,
syntax, and semantics to convey meaning between individuals or groups. It is
essential for social interaction, learning, and cultural expression.

What is Research?
Research is a systematic process of gathering and analyzing data to answer
questions, solve problems, or generate new knowledge. It can be conducted in
various fields and can be communicated through various means. It is essential
for informed decision-making and problem-solving.

What is Research Paper?

Research papers are academic writing that present the results of a study or
investigation on a particular topic. They should be well-organized, clearly
written, and properly cited with references to sources used. The purpose is to
contribute new knowledge to a field.

What is Language of Research?

The language of research is the specialized terminology, conventions, and
communication strategies used in academic research. It involves using precise,
technical language to communicate research findings, following established
conventions, critical thinking and analysis, and understanding theoretical
frameworks and paradigms. It plays a crucial role in advancing knowledge and
understanding.

What are the Technical terms used in Research?

- Hypothesis: A proposed explanation or prediction for a phenomenon that is

tested through scientific investigation.
- Variables: Factors or characteristics that can change or vary in a research
study.
- Control group: A group of study participants that is not exposed to the
experimental treatment and serves as a comparison for the experimental
group.
- Experimental group: A group of study participants that is exposed to the
experimental treatment being studied.
- Validity: The degree to which a research study measures what it is intended
to measure.
- Reliability: The consistency and stability of a research study's results.
- Literature review: A summary and analysis of the existing research on a
particular topic.
- Methodology: The systematic and theoretical analysis of research methods
used in a particular field of study.

These technical terms are just a few examples of the specialized vocabulary
used in research. It is important for students to understand and be able to use
technical terms in order to effectively read, analyze, and communicate about
research.

governing the formation of words in a language.
 Semantics: The study of meaning in language, including the meanings

 Evaluate (10 minutes) What I Have Learned?

Wrap up the lesson by asking students to reflect on what they learned
about language research. Ask them to identify one thing they found
particularly interesting or important about language research and how it
relates to their personal or academic lives.
 Assignment Direction: a. Research and define the basic parts of the research paper.
Have further study about it.

b. Write a research title about language research, considering the
