ICQ - International Chemistry Quiz Syllabus-free quiz
The Royal Australian Chemical Institute (RACI) invites you to participate in an International Chemistry
Quiz, ICQ-2021. This is a truly International event with around 100,000 participants from around 25
countries including Australia, Austria, Bahrain, Brunei, Canada, China, Fiji, Germany, Hong Kong, India,
Indonesia, Malaysia, New Zealand, Oman, Papua New Guinea, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, UAE,
Kuwait, Qatar, United Kingdom, Vietnam and Western Samoa participating every year.
The ICQ is a quiz & not an exam. ICQ questions are designed on a process basis, so that students should be
able to deduce the answer from the given information.

Aims of the Quiz

To inculcate the interest of students for further study of science & do away with the view that science
is rote learning based subject.
To emphasize upon the connection between academic image of science and its applications.
To increase the 'Observational Skills' and improve the 'Problem Solving Ability' of the students.

Philosophy & Pattern

The Quiz is based on the philosophy that most students should be able to answer many questions.
The Quiz does not test specific knowledge based on rote learning. Instead, it imparts you with
information/fact and based on this information/fact the question would be asked. ICQ is a syllabus free
Quiz. All students compete on a grade and country basis i.e, a class 10 student from India competes only
with other Class 10 students from India.
ICQ is a online proctored quiz consisting of 30 MCQs to be attempted in 60 minutes.

Results & Awards

40% of the total numbers of participants across each participating country are awarded.
Each participant receives a e-certificate of participation.
A certificate from an institute such as RACI, Australia is a landmark in academic carrier of any
student, world wide. This certificate is extremely valuable when applying to prestigious
institutes or jobs & it remains a part of resume of the student for at least a decade.
The EnviroQuiz International Environment & Sustainability Quiz Syllabus-free quiz

All students of Grade III to Grade X must participate. There are 4 categories:
Grade III-IV Grade V-VI
Grade VII-VIII Grade IX-X
Environmental & Sustainability Science is a multi-disciplinary academic field that connects
principles from the physical & natural sciences, commerce, economics.
EnviroQuiz does not aim at memory based questions but is focused on making quizzing a fun
learning experiences.
Questions will be of different disciplines from the Current Grade Syllabus along with everyday
events in our environment and general awareness.
The EnviroQuiz is designed in such a manner that it aids to the all-round growth of your child. It
provides your child with an opportunity to be ahead of the curve. This event is an important step
towards creating Responsible Global Citizens.

The Sci-Pi Quiz International Science & Mathematics Quiz Syllabus Based Quiz

All students of Grade V to Grade X must participate.

Each participating grade is a separate category in itself.
A Single Quiz based on questions from both Mathematics & Science subjects to help students gauge
their standing in both the subjects in one go.
A good mix of the questions in the Sci-Pi Quiz will be based on process basis i.e. the students should
be able to deduce the answers from the information provided in questions itself.
The Sci-Pi Quiz is a syllabus based quiz. An effort is made to present questions in a fun and
informative manner to inculcate the interest of students in the subjects. The questions will make
science and mathematics attractive & interesting for students.
Interpreting, thinking, analyzing & synthesizing the given set of information is the most essential
skill set of 21st Century. The Sci-Pi questions help developing scientific temperament among young
students.

The Wizard International Short Story Writing Competition

All students of Grade V to Grade XII can participate. Students having interest in Science, English
and/or Social Science subjects must participate.
There are 3 participating Categories:
Grade V, VI, VII Grade VIII, IX, X Grade XI, XII
The Wizard’s unique design enables in developing all the four Learning Skills of 21st century.
The child is required to critically think of the subject matter and gain knowledge through research
and collaboration. Using his/her imagination, develop an exciting & creative story.
The practice of story writing develops the communication and language skills which are essential
to take the challenges of the real world & makes him/her and innovator.
The Global Citizen Contest International Current Affairs & Awareness Contest Syllabus-free quiz
All students of Grade V to Grade X can participate.
There are 3 participating Categories: Grade V-VI Grade VII-VIII Grade IX-X
The global citizen contest aim’s to disseminate various international and national developments in
social political, economical, geographical, scientific and technology.
The contest encourages Information and media literacy skills & motivates the child to stay abreast
with the latest developments around the globe. The awareness gained by such an activity helps
develop a world view.
Preparation for such events will lead to the child’s engagement in reading news paper, watching
news channels, reading relevant blogs thus developing his/her reading-writing skills, improving
vocabulary and speaking skills and also intriguing him/her to find solutions of real world problems.

Pattern
The EnviroQuiz, The Sci-Pi Quiz & The Global Citizen Contest- 30 process based Multiple Choice Questions
to be answered in 60 minutes on the online proctored system. There is NO negative marking in these
quizzes.
The Wizard- A short story (~500 words) on the topic provided (72 hours prior to the date of
competition) to be written in 90 minutes on the online proctored software from the comfort of your
home/school.

All students compete on Grade basis i.e. a Grade 5 student competes against other Grade 5
students nationally only.

Awards
Each participant will receive a e-Certificate of Participation.
A total of 30% of the participants from every participating country will be awarded. Also, the top 30% students
globally shall be awarded for their outstanding achievement. The Award categories are -
The Prodigy Award - For students scoring 100% in the Quiz (for The Wizard, top 1% of the stories will be
published in The Wizard Book.)
Platina - Certificate of Excellence - awarded to the top 5% of students.
Aurum - Certificate of Accomplishment - awarded to the next 10% of students.
Argentum - Certificate of Emergence - awarded to the next 15% of students.

Result Report
Quantum Vault’s e-Student Performance Analysis Report (e-SPAR) are very supportive and help
the children & their parents to assess strengths & weaknesses. Each student gets the result
depicting correct and wrong choices made by them while answering the Quiz questions. The result
report also analyses the performance of students in various sections and types of question (recall,
understanding & analysis and HOTS). It also depict the performance of children in relation to the
whole cohort. Such a report helps the students in identifying & developing their soft spots into
strengths.

maximum kinetic energy when at the
bottom of the path. When they start

converted to gravitational potential
