The Sanskaar Valley School, Bhopal is happy to host the 4th edition of its Annual
Interschool Technology Event “The Sanskaar Techfest”, to be held on
Saturday, 13th of October 2018, at the school campus. The overwhelming
response from all participant schools in the past three years has inspired us to
take the Techfest to next level this year in terms of its content, logistics and
magnitude. Widening the scope further Sanskaar Techfest 4.0, brings ample
opportunities for students to participate and compete in several Onsite and
Online events.

The event will give opportunity to many more students to learn, compete and
gain exposure with a tinge of enjoyment. This year, 14 Onsite and 5 Online
events are planned with a dream to make it a platform for a grand
Technological Extravaganza.

We are excited to welcome all the Tech-savvy students in the city and hope to
make it an unforgettable experience for each one of them.

General Instructions
1. The Sanskaar Techfest 4.0 offers an opportunity to participate in 14 Onsite and 5 Online
events.
2. A participant may participate in both Online and Onsite events.
3. All the participants of Online and Onsite events will receive participation certificates.

4. A participant may participate in more than one event.
5. The Schools are required to register online - by 20th September, 2018 using the online
registration portal on our event website www.techfest.sanskaarvalley.org.
6. The entries for all Online events as per specifications given in the individual event rule
sheet need to be uploaded on the registration portal on our event website
www.techfest.sanskaarvalley.org or you may send the files/ cloud links at the email id

7. The results for all Online events will be declared on 11 September, 2018 on our event
website www.techfest.sanskaarvalley.org.
8. Only the winners of Online events will be invited to attend the award ceremony on
13th October, 2018.
9. The certificates of participation for all Online event participants will be handed over to the
teacher escorts on 13th October, 2018.

Instructions for Onsite events

10. Event date: Saturday, 13 October, 2018. School teams are expected to arrive at the host
school premises latest by 8:00 am.

11. The event is open for students of classes 2 to 12 only.

12. The Schools are required to register online - by 20 September, 2018 using the online
registration portal on our event website www.techfest.sanskaarvalley.org.
13. There is no registration / participation fee for any event, although there can be a limited
number of students who can participate in each event. So, registration will be confirmed
on a first come, first serve basis.
14. The participants CANNOT participate in more than one event, as these events are running
concurrently.
15. Students must be accompanied by a teacher escort.
16. Details for each event is given on specific event rule sheet in this Brochure.
17. Prize distribution will take place on the same day between 1:00 pm to 1:45 pm, the
schools can depart thereafter.
18. The schools must ensure that the copyright free content is used for all the events
(wherever students are bringing the pre-prepared material) or else references should be
cited. The Sanskaar Valley School shall not be responsible for any misuse of
copyright/trademarks or any such issue.
19. For some events, the participants may be asked to bring their own devices.
20. A panel of judges will assess the performance of the participants and their decision will be
final and binding to all.

Important
1. Criteria for Championship Trophy:
Schools to participate in Minimum 12 events.(Including online and onsite)
The points for Championship trophy will be calculated by picking the score of best
12 results. Points will be awarded as - 10 points for 1st Position, 7 points for 2nd

Position and 5 points for 3 Position.
2. The students are advised to keep safe their expensive gadgets or valuables, as the
host school will not be responsible for any loss of such things.

Instructions:
1) There will be two rounds in this competition.
2) Preliminary Round: In this round selection of the participants will be through real time
quizzing software.
3) Top five teams will qualify for the final round based on their performance in the
preliminary round. The quiz master will announce the top five team names and invite them
on stage to participate in the final round.
4) The Final round will comprise of direct questions, multiple choice questions, audio, visual,
connect and rapid – fire rounds.
5) The scoring system & rules of the round will be explained by the Quizmaster before each
round.
6) Following is the list of topics which participants may refer; however, it is not exhaustive,
other necessary references may also be undertaken.

paraphrasing, hacking, phishing, copyrights, patent etc. All about popular IT Companies (like
CEOs, Headquarters, Products, Logos, new projects etc.).

Kodu Game Trap

Instructions:
1. The participants must design a creative multiplayer educational computer game (fun
being its main component) which they will be required to present in front of the judges
on the day of the event.
2. The time limit of the game presentation is maximum 10 minutes.
3. Teams are supposed to prepare and submit the game description document in hard copy
to the judges.
4. The document must contain the following details:
a) What does my game teach? (Explain why this game is important.)
b) What will my game do? (Define the goal of the game. What are the key features of
the game?)
c) Who is the end user/ who will find my game helpful? (Identify a specific person or
group of persons who will use this game.)
d) What are the different levels and characters of my game? (Define how many
levels this game will have, the background of each level and the characters in
each level)
e) How does the player's score increase/decrease and how does the player win/lose
in the game? (When does the player get points and when does the player lose
points in this game?)
f) User manual – which includes a description of the functionality of the game,
keyboard shortcuts used in the game and other instructions to help users.
5. The teams must bring their own device to do the presentation. The organizers will
provide a Projector for the presentation of the Game.
6. During the presentation, the teams may be questioned by the Jury members.

Instructions:
1. The teams will be required to complete a task/project from scratch based on the
theme which will be given on the spot by the judges.
2. Each team will get one and a half hours to complete the assigned task/project.
3. Judges may ask a few questions from each team based on their submission.
4. Judges will select the top three teams based on the performance of the teams.
5. In case of a tie, the Judges may give an additional task of 15 minutes.
6. The judgement of the judges will be final and binding.

Instructions:
1. Teams will be required to build a world in Minecraft on the given theme
Theme: My Dream World,
They are not allowed to use any predefine template.
2. On the day of the event, teams will present their Minecraft world in front of the
Judges. The teams must bring their own device to do the presentation. The
organizers will provide a Projector for the presentation.
3. They are required to submit the hard copy of their World Description Document
(A write up of maximum 200 words to explain their construction in the
Minecraft world) to the Judges.
4. The time limit for the presentation is maximum 10 minutes.
5. During the presentation, the teams may be questioned by the Jury members.

Gamerz Zone
L4D2 (Left 4 Dead 2)
Event Type : Team Event

Eligibility : For students of Classes 6 to 8
Venue : Anant Lab 4
Instructions:
1. Each participant is requested to carry their own pair of headphones as it is recommended.
2. The eliminations will be conducted in a zombie escape map and the teams to escape will be
selected in the group stage.
3. The maps will be selected randomly by the organizers; however, the same selected map
will be played by all the teams.
4. The game mode will be realism scavenger.
5. In case of a tie in the final, a tiebreaker will be conducted on a random map where
participants will be judged based on their kills, stats, etc.
6. The tournament will be conducted in two phases: Preliminary round and Final round.
7. There is a certain time restriction in the preliminary round.
8. The finals will have merit-based evaluation, the team who will clear the arena in the
minimum time will win the tournament and the other positions will be decided identically.
9. There will be no second chances or warm-ups.
10. In case of partial survival of the participants (if one dies in the survival), the team will be
considered as eliminated. All team members must survive. In case all team members gets
eliminated, that team will be disqualified.
11. Any rule can be changed without any prior notice to the participant and judge's verdict will
be final.

13. Calling to vote is NOT allowed until permitted by the school representative or a judge.
14. All match demos will be recorded, any attempt to use unfair means like aim bots, wall
hacks, scripts, etc. will result in immediate disqualification.
15. Friendly fire will be OFF.
16. Any accusations of unfair means or foul play can be raised only during the duration of the
match by calling for a team timeout and notifying the organizers.

Weave the Web

Instructions:
1. The teams will have to design an attractive and user-friendly website for Desktop,
Tablet or Mobile screens, that should be appealing and informative (minimum 3
pages).
2. The topic for the website will be given on the spot by the judges. The judges will
select the topic through a draw of lot.
3. All necessary Images/ materials that can be used to prepare the website, will be
preloaded on the systems.
4. Internet facility will not be provided.
5. The teams will be provided with notepad/notepad++ text editors to create their
website and Chrome/Internet Explorer/Edge web browsers to preview it. They can
use HTML and CSS only.

Innovation Zone

Instructions:
1. Student/s in each group need to bring an innovative project of their own choice
to be showcased in innovation zone.
2. The Student/s can present any innovation related to technology; a software (an
app/website/game/technology), hardware (micro controller / microprocessor /
robot etc.) or a combination of both.
3. There will be an exhibition of the projects where students need to explain their
idea to the judges.
4. All the necessary hardware/software/other accessories for this event need to be
brought by the participating school. The organizers will only provide electricity
connections and space to display the projects.

Snip & Snap

Instructions:
1. The team will be allotted a theme on the spot, which they must capture from their
neighboring surroundings in the form of the 5 best photographs possible from the
school campus.
2. They will be given 1 hour 15 minutes to click the pictures and 45 minutes to edit and
submit the pictures.
3. Photograph size must be more than 1 MB [Ratio: 1024 X 768 PX].
4. The teams must bring their own camera and another device/s to do the photo editing
with the required software installed on it.

Treasure Hunt
Event Type : Team Event

Eligibility : For students of Classes 6 to 12
Venue : Entire School Campus

Instructions:
1. Prelims will be conducted (*Based on the number of teams registering for the event).
2. The Treasure Hunt consists of 4-5 clues, each one leading to the next clue. Teams will be
given a map to find the treasure. At each location mentioned in the map, there will be a
QR Code which needs to be scanned to retrieve the clue.
3. The clues are to be found in an order. A team cannot skip a clue. Skipping a clue leads to
disqualification of the team.
4. One must not search for clues in off-limit areas.
5. If a team finds the other team's clue by chance they must not tamper with it. A violation
of this rule could cause disqualification.
6. Each team must bring one Internet enabled Android phone.
7. An Android app will be provided by the organizers which will help the teams to scan the
QR-Code and open the clue attached to it.
8. The team that will find the treasure first will be the winner. In case no team is able to
search the treasure in the assigned duration (2 hours), the winners will be decided
based on the number of clues, the teams have cracked.
9. The clues to find the treasure will be related to the IT terminology therefore it is
recommended that participants must have knowledge of the subject.
10. In case participants move any object to search the clue, kindly replace it.
11. All the clues of the teams are different and are located at various places, but the
final destination i.e. the treasure is same. The team which finds the treasure wins
first.

Instructions:
1. All games will be played on PS4 Pro console.
2. The games will be played on kickoff mode.
3. Headphones, and custom controllers (All controllers must be compatible with a PS4) are
allowed.
4. The tournament will be a 2v2 tournament on knockout basis.
5. Two players from each school will team up for a match.
6. The fixtures will be decided by a draw.
7. FIFA Trainer will be disabled throughout the match.
8. Each game will have a 5-minute half.
9. All team available at kickoff (except “ international and rest of the world” teams) are
allowed.
10. Game settings will be on default.
11. Each game (except the final) will be a two-legged fixture, with a home and away tie.
12. When the result of the match is undecided, it will go to extra time and then penalties
(classic).
13. Controller settings can be customized.
14. Goalkeeper difficulty will be on Legendary.
15. Pauses are not allowed when the ball is in play.

Access Denied
Event Type : Individual

Eligibility : Students of classes 9 to 12
Venue : Aadhar Lab
Background: Your PC has been hacked and the hacker has changed the admin account
password on your Windows 10 PC. He has also disassembled the PC and removed/replaced a
working component with a defective component so that you cannot access your files in time.
You need some important files from your admin account, so you must gain access to admin
account.
Instructions:
1. Students in each group can bring any equipment of their choice ex: pen drives, hard
drives etc.
2. Students can bring any software on their pen drive.
3. The participants will have to assemble the PC and identify the missing/defective
component and get it replaced. After this the real challenge begins.
4. The students will be logged into the guest account of Windows 10, from where they will
execute the following tasks:
a. The first task of the student is to hack into a private SQL server using SQL injection
and obtain the password which will be used in the next step.
b. The second task of the student is to copy a word file named “Access denied” present
on the desktop of admin account to the guest account. The file will be password
protected and the password obtained in the first task will be used here. The file will
contain a link which will be used in the next task and a password which will be used
in the fourth task.
c. On clicking the link, it will open a YouTube video, but YouTube will be blocked. The
third task of the student is to unblock YouTube and download the video to the guest
account. YouTube and other sites will be banned by Open DNS and Dans Guardian.
d. The fourth and final task of the student is to change the admin account password to
the password obtained in task 2.
5. The students will be given two hours to complete the five tasks.
6. The tasks can be completed in any order, exception obviously being the first one.
7. After every task completion, the participant will call the judge to note the time.
8. The above-mentioned rules may be changed by the organizers; the changes will be
informed to the participants on the day of the competition.
If a participant is unable to perform a task they may ask the organizers to bypass that
specific task for them, this would result in a time penalty of:
1. 15 minutes for 1st bypass

Access Denied
Judgement Criteria:
1. Time will be the criteria for judgement of this event.
2. Ranks will be decided based on the time taken to complete the four tasks. The fastest
contestant will come first.
3. If no competitors are able to complete all the 4 tasks the winner will be decided
by taking into account the maximum number of tasks completed by the students and
the time taken to do so.
Note: Organizers may change a few rules (if required while cross-checking the
logistics. But the latest rule will be available on the event website at least two days
before the event.

Instructions:
1. Participants will be required to create an animation in Stykz on any one of the themes
given below:
(a). Power of Unity
(b). Friendship
2. Animation should not be of more than 3 minutes.
3. Students may use background music/sound track.
4. The animation must depict the Names of the Participants, Classes, School Name and
Event Name and Topic in the beginning.
5. All the Stykz files needs to save in the format TeamNo_SchoolName eg. Team1_SPS
6. Files need to be uploaded as .mov or .gif format on the registration portal, on our event
website www.techfest.sanskaarvalley.org or you may send the files/ cloud links on the
email id sanskaartechfest@sanskaarvalley.org. All entries must be received by
9th October, 2018.

Instructions:
1. This is a movie making competition. Teams are required to prepare a short film (of
maximum 5 minutes) on the Theme- “Clean Bhopal, My Dream Bhopal – Let's Bridge
The Gap”.

2. The participants can use live pictures, interviews, videos, audio and copyright free
content to create the movie. The movie must depict the following aspects:
Best practices/ initiatives taken by BMC, local govt., various public and private
organizations, NGOs etc. for making Bhopal a clean city;
What has worked and what has not worked?
Areas of improvement/ new initiatives, which can be taken.
How as students you can contribute to the drive?
3. Students may use any hardware or software to produce the movie, but the
specifications of the same needs to be given on the last frame of the movie.
4. The movie must contain the Event name, Team No, Names of The Participants, Class,
Section and School name on the first frame.
5. Movie needs to be saved in mp4 format with good resolution.
6. Schools need to upload the mp4 files on the registration portal, on our event website
www. techfest.sanskaarvalley.org or may upload the file on One Drive/Google Drive,

Instructions:
1. The teams need to create a OneNote collaborative notebook.
2. They can choose any topic (Lesson) from any subject and create a multi-section
notebook with multi-pages to have the following information about the topic:

Instructions:
1. The participating teams should create a short (of maximum three minutes) video
explaining a challenging concept in physics, mathematics, computers or the life sciences
in an engaging, illuminating, and creative way.

2. The video needs to be submitted in good resolution in mp4 format.


3. Students may feature themselves or use self-created resources charts/models/mind-
maps or copyright free images etc. in the video to make it self-explanatory.
4. Entries that are submitted in connection with the Competition will only be eligible if such
Entries (i) are in English, including all scripts and voice-overs, (ii) do not contain content
that is unlawful (including any infringement or potential infringement of Intellectual
Property Rights), hateful or obscene, in the Competition organizer's sole discretion, and
(iii) do not include any other identifiable individual other than the individual participant
unless prior express consent is obtained from such individual or such images are in the
public domain.
5. The video must depict the Names of the Participants, Classes, School Name and Event
Name, subject and topic in the beginning.
6. Teams can either upload the video directly on the registration portal of our event website
www.techfest.sanskaarvalley.org or upload on ant cloud service Google / Onedrive and
share the link with the organizers at the email id sanskaartechfest@sanskaarvalley.org by
9th October, 2018.
