1. What is Khudkila?

Khudkila (Steps to Innovation) STEAM Challenge is a platform for students to engage in


solving problems and foster scientific and logical thinking skills through United Nations
Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). It is a national level; STEAM Challenge; a time
bound, problem solving oriented event that tests a student’s ability to innovate where students
from all over the nation can participate.

2. How Khudkila was Sprout?

Working for more than 8 years in education, robotics and technology our team found how we
are lagging in the education system to connect with the real world. Our teachers and students
are always confused how this education will be implemented in our real world.

This is how InG Educator was started and Khudkila was born to support and make the
platform to showcase all those young minds imaginations and energy to solve the problem for
the society.

3. Objective of Khudkila

● To create a platform for kids to grow with innovation


● Make the Kids intact with Steam education system
● Make Learning Meaningful

4. Event Description

Khudkila (MATO) will be divided into two sub events namely, Robotics Competition and Project
Exhibition.

1. Robotics Competition: Robotics Competition is subdivided into two categories namely,


Manual Competition and Automatic Competition.

Robotics.

I. Manual Robotics Competition:


School level students from grade eight or below could participate in this competition.
Each participating team should have their own manual robot (wired or wireless). The robot
should go through the provided game arena and should perform the required tasks.

II. Automatic:

In this competition school level students of grade 9 or below could participate. Here each
participating team should make their own automatic robot that can go through the provided arena
and should perform the required tasks.
2. Exhibition

Exhibition will have two sub events namely Themed Exhibition and Open Exhibition.

Themed:

Through the themed based Exhibition, we would like to encourage the participants to work
on the different model with the theme “Hydro (Water)”. Every innovation could be
exhibited in this event if the innovative idea is related to water in one way or another. The
participants don’t necessarily need to design and develop electronics and robotics project
to participate in Themed Exhibition.

Open:

Open Exhibition is the platform for all other students who have worked on materializing
their ideas and their ideas are neither robotics nor related to hydro. This is an open platform
where students can utilize to showcase their innovation and creativity. The project could
be related to robotics, electronics automation, play cards, module, idea presentation
through chart paper and many more. This is an open platform for students.

5. Who can participate?
The participants for the event is school level students of grade nine or below. Any kids with
age 15 or less can participate in the event. All the team members should fulfil this criteria to
participate in the event.

6. Who are behind the event?


The event is organized by Innovative Ghar Nepal. InG Nepal will collaborate with other
stakeholders as the new partner. The following organizations have agreed to support the event.

Innovative Ghar Nepal:

Innovative Ghar Nepal (IngNepal) is a Non-profitable and Non-government organization of


Nepal working for youth development in technical education. It provides an interactive display
place for the innovative students to come together in an effort to promote, educate, explore,
create and share their curiosity.

We, Innovative Ghar Nepal, integrate principles from all disciplines of engineering and
Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in the development of our Nation, and
provide valuable hands-on knowledge sharing and put up experience to the society. The main
vision of the organization is to expose everyone to the newest advancement in the technology
by focusing on research, skill sharing, and hands-on experience through team spirit. We are
putting all our endeavor for the removal of technical gap existing between different regions of
Nepal, and uplifting women workforce in ICT, and finally create a raised area for the research
and development in science and technical sector.

We are always in the wave of integrating ideas and innovations to work with inventive minds,
and similar organizations.

The event itself being hosted inside the Kathmandu valley; we are targeting most of the schools
from the valley. The total of over 12 schools have confirmed their participation in the event.
