General Guidelines
1. Only schools that implement the TechnoKids curriculum are eligible to join this competition.
2. Schools must register on or before January 26, 2024 (Friday), through this link: <link>
3. Schools must form a team with two (2) members, from grades 5 to 6, to represent their
school.
4. Once your school’s registration has been submitted, a confirmation email containing the
registered participants will be sent to the coaches starting February 1, 2024 (Thursday).
5. Schools are not allowed to change the registered participants on the day of the
competition.
6. The registration will start strictly at 7:00 a.m. on the competition day.
7. Only registered participants and coaches are allowed to enter the venue on the
competition day.
○ The host school reserves the right to refuse entry to unregistered persons.
8. The participants and coaches must be in their school uniforms and must bring their valid
school ID, which they need to present upon entry.
9. Administrators, coaches, teachers, and other students are not allowed to coach the
participants during the competition. If caught, the school to which the administrator,
coach, teacher, or student belongs will be disqualified.
10. Non-compliance with the aforementioned guidelines will result in automatic
disqualification from the competition.

discretion of the school if they choose to participate in the competition.

Important Reminders

1. TechnoKids Philippines will provide a WiFi connection for this competition. It is at the
discretion of the participants if they will use their own data connection. If they choose to do
so, TechnoKids Philippines will not be liable for its possible unstable or slow connection.
● In case of internet connection problems, the participant may connect to another
network and join the competition link again. However, the competition will continue
regardless of whether a participant loses an internet connection.
● Disclaimer: TechnoKids Philippines is not liable for any internet connection or device
issues experienced during the competition.
2. The device to be used in the competition must operate from Android 8.0 (Oreo) up to the
latest version (Android 13).
3. The participants can only use one (1) Android device, either a phone or a tablet, in this
competition.
a. All participants are encouraged to ensure that the device is free of sudden technical
difficulties, as the competition will not be paused if an error occurs.
b. The participants can no longer change or switch devices during the competition.
4. The participants must not leave or quit the application during the competition.

General Guidelines (During the competition)

1. The link to the competition will be provided on the day of the competition.
2. Questions are in the form of multiple choice only.
○ A maximum of one (1) minute will be allotted for each question.
○ All questions will only be shown once.
○ Questions will be displayed on the projector screen, which the Quiz Master will read
twice.
3. The questions will remain locked until the Quiz Master says "Timer starts now!" Only then
can the participants begin answering the question within the given time.
4. Once the time is up, the question will be locked again and participants will no longer be
allowed to submit their answers.

Scoring and Levels

● The quiz bee competition has three (3) rounds:


○ Easy Round
○ Average Round
○ Difficult Round
● Each round consists of 10 questions that have equivalent points.

Trial Round 3 10 seconds 0 point

Easy Round 10 10 seconds 10 points each

Average Round 10 15 seconds 20 points each

Difficult Round 10 20 seconds 30 points each

Tie-Breaker - 20 seconds -

● In the event of a tie after the difficult round, a tie-breaker round will be conducted.
● The top 3 teams with the highest accumulated scores in the Final Round will be declared
the winners.

Code of Conduct

TechnoKids Philippines reserves the right to disqualify participants who commit the following
during the Quiz Bee Competition:

Any form of cheating, but not limited to:


1. Accessing / browsing the internet
2. Copying of answers
3. Revealing the correct answer
4. Coaching
5. Opening books, lectures, or any materials.

Use of external application such as:


1. Dictionary
2. Calculator
3. Siri, Cortana, and the like
4. Memo
5. Calendar

Use of social media such as:


1. Facebook
2. Twitter
3. Tumblr
4. Google +
5. Instagram
6. YouTube

Play multimedia or take pictures / videos / sounds


1. Videos
2. Pictures / GIF
3. Music
4. Play games
5. Browse / share / stream files (PDF, Documents, Spreadsheet)
6. View notifications
7. Turn on mobile data
8. Unauthorized access to other participant’s account
9. Device fails to meet the basic system requirements of the application
