GENERAL MECHANICS

 The decision of judges is final and irrevocable


 Participants must be a bonafide member of the PSABE-PPG. Foreign delegates must also be a
bona fide member of the undergraduate student chapter they will represent.

1. ABE Quiz Bee


1. Participating University/College can register a minimum of one (1) Team and
maximum of ten (10) team for the event which is composed of three (3) members
having one (1) team captain. They must also come from a single chapter or school.
2. They can stay together as group or they will enter in the but the team captain is only
allowed to one will answer the quiz. The members also of the group will also enter in
the group.
3. The questions will come from the following categories:
a. Agricultural Machinery and Modernization
• Farm Machinery and Mechanization
• Farm Power and Energy
• Engineering Economics and Management
• Agricultural Marketing
b. Soil and Water Engineering
• Irrigation and Drainage
• Soil and Water Conservation Engineering
• Agronomy
• Hydrology
• Aquaculture Engineering
c. Agricultural and Bio-processing Engineering
• Crop Processing and Handling
• Engineering Thermodynamics
• Heat Transfer
• Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning
• Agricultural Structure Management
• Agricultural Electrification
• Animal Science
d. Environmental Engineering
• Environmental Science
• Wastewater Management
4. The quiz contest is composed of three (3) rounds: Easy, Average and Difficult.
Theoretical and practical questions may be asked. The team will be given ample time
depending on the level of difficulty of the question per round. The following time per
round will be given to the contestants:
Easy Round 15 seconds
Average Round 30 seconds
Difficult Round 45 seconds

5. The quiz bee will be composed of twenty (20) questions for the easy round, fifteen (15)
questions for the average round and 10 questions for the difficult round.
6. The quiz will be administered via google forms with 20 minutes’ ample time for the
whole category.
7. The winners will be announced after the quiz
8. Only the TEAM CAPTIAN is allowed to answer in the google forms, thus, the
remaining 2 members will help the captain in selecting the best answer.
9. During the quiz the participating group must open their web cam or camera. Failed to
do so will be called and for three times will be eliminated.
10. The equivalent points for each round are as follows:

9. There will be no elimination, thus, all teams will compete up to the difficult round.
10. If there is an inquiry regarding the final answer of each question, a panel of judges will
answer the inquiry.
11. The team captain is the only one allowed to raise clarifications. The judges’ decision
is final and irrevocable.
12. In case, there are a tie after all the rounds, the time of completion and submission will
be the basis of judging.
13. The winners (1st, 2nd and 3rd placers) will be awarded with certificates.
14. Only registered participants to the convention will be allowed to join the quiz

Note: FAILED TO REGISTER CANNOT PARTICIPATE IN THE QUIZ.


2. Tractor Parts Identification
1. Participants must be a bona fide member of the PSABE-PPG. Foreign delegates
must also be a bonafide member of the undergraduate student chapter he/she will
represent.
2. Participating University/College shall register minimum of one entry and
maximum of 10 entries only
3. A total of twenty (25) itemized tractor parts will be identified.
4. Each contestant will be given twenty (10) minutes to identify all items in tractor
parts.
5. The contestant will be answering via google forms while the picture is flashed on
the zoom/google meet. Wrong spelled names will be considered wrong.
6. The contestant must open their web cam during the contest. Failed to do so will be
called out for three times will be eliminated.
7. The time will start after the proctor told to do so.
8. The contestant may submit the answer sheets on or before the time allotted.
9. The contestant with the most number of correct parts identified shall win the
contest.
10. In terms of a tie, the time of completion will be the basis of judging.
11. The winners (1st, 2nd and 3rd placers) will be awarded certificates.

3. Digital Poster Making Contest


1. Participating University/College shall register minimum of one entry and
maximum of 10 entries only.
2. The posters to be drawn must emphasize, illustrate and interpret the theme of the
convention. Theme: “Transforming ABE technologies for adequate and
sustainable advancement in this crisis situation”
3. Contestants must draw on any digital platform provided with the image resolution
of 720*1080 Pixels Resolution. Size of image is 8.5”x 11” portrait.
4. The poster must be an original work and did not join to any contest or awarded to
any activities.
5. The participant must submit a 5 min video of him/her doing the poster.
6. The Participant must register to this link:

8. The poster will be uploaded in the official Facebook Account of the PSABE PPG.
9. The posters will be judged according to the criteria:

Creativity and Presentation 30 %


Relevance to the theme 30%
Punctuality 20 %
Workmanship 10 %
Online Reactions 10 %

TOTAL 100 %

10. The winners (1st, 2nd, 3rd Placers) will receive certificate.
4. Combined Rice Harvester Parts Identification
1. Participants must be a bona fide member of the PSABE-PPG. Foreign delegates
must also be a bonafide member of the undergraduate student chapter he/she will
represent.
2. Participating University/College shall register minimum of one entry and
maximum of 10 entries only.
3. A total of twenty (25) itemized harvester parts will be identified.
4. Each contestant will be given twenty (10) minutes to identify all items in tractor
parts.
5. The contestant will be answering via google forms while the picture is flashed on
the zoom/google meet. Wrong spelled names will be considered wrong.
6. The time will start after the proctor told to do so.

5. Technical Paper Presentation


1. Participants must be a bona fide member of the PSABE-PPG. Foreign delegates
must also be a bona fide member of the undergraduate student chapter he/she will
represent.
2. Participating University/College shall register minimum of one entry and
maximum of 10 entries only.
3. The contest will be divided into two categories: oral presentation and poster
exhibit.
4. For the oral presentation, each paper must have only one (1) presenter to be given
a maximum of 10 minutes to discuss the contents of the study in a Pre Recorded
Video.
5. There will be another 5 minutes for question and answer from the panel of judges
on the zoom meeting.
6. Prior to this, contestants must submit a soft copy of the abstract of their studies to
be uploaded on the link below.
7. For the poster exhibit, contestants shall submit a 4’ x 5’ tarpaulin poster featuring
the main contents of their studies.
8. The pre-recorded video as well as the abstract and the tarpaulin/poster must be

9. The panel will evaluate the presentation and poster during the event. The panel of
judges will be coming from the industry, academe, and the PSABE. The team will
notify you if you are in the top 20 teams to present your presentation live on
the Zoom.
10. (The panel of judges shall not be affiliated to any participating schools)
11. There must be no authorship of professionals on the technical paper presented.
12. The technical paper to be presented must be done during A.Y. 2019-2020 and
2020-2021 only. Otherwise, the entry will be disqualified
13. The technical paper presentation is divided in to 4 four Categories
a Agricultural Machinery and Modernization
b Soil and Water Engineering
c Agricultural and Bio-processing Engineering
d Environmental Engineering
14. Entries will be judged based on the following criteria: Oral Category
Creativity, Originality and quality of work 30 %
Significance of the Study 40 %
Manuscript /Write up 15 %
Presentation 15 %
Total 100 %

Poster Category
Creativity, Originality and quality of work 50 %
Significance of the Study Write up 30 %
Presentation 20 %
Total 100 %

6. Essay Writing Contest


1. Participating University/College shall register minimum of one entry and
maximum of 10 entries only.
2. The article/essay must emphasize, illustrate and interpret the theme of the
convention. Theme: “Transforming ABE technologies for adequate and
sustainable advancement in this crisis situation”
3. Contestants must use the following guidelines
 Times New Roman
 Font Size: 12
 Spacing: 1.15
 Paper Size: Letter (8.5”x11”)
 PDF Format
 With Name Bellow the Title of the Essay
4. The essay must be an original work and did not join to any contest or awarded to
any activities.

6. Photography Contest
1. Participating University/College shall register minimum of one entry and
maximum of 10 entries only
2. The photo must emphasize, illustrate and interpret the theme of the convention.
Theme: “Transforming ABE technologies for adequate and sustainable
advancement in this crisis situation”
3. The Photo must not be edited in any application. Only Lightings and brightness
can be adjusted.
4. Contestants must use the following guidelines
 JPG or PNG Format
 720 x 1080 P
 Taken by a DSLR any brand

6. The photo must be an original work and did not join to any contest or awarded to
any activities.
7. The photography will be uploaded in the official Facebook Account of the PSABE
PPG.

6. Video Making Contest


1. Each participant chapter must register only (10) entry for the event.
2. The video must emphasize, illustrate and interpret the theme of the convention.
Theme: “Transforming ABE technologies for adequate and sustainable advancement
in this crisis situation” and ABE Profession.
3. The Video must be in the format of:
 MP4
 720Px1080P Resolution
 3-5 minutes’ duration
4. The video must be original and must be no copyright infringement.
5. The video must be not awarded in any activities or published in any social media
platforms.
6. Upon submitting the Entry, the File should be name as “Chapter Name – Video
Making”
7. Upon submitting your entry, you are allowing the organizers to take charge of your
work and be uploaded in any social media account of the PSABE PPG
