PATALASTAS: A Stop-Motion Infomercial Competition

General Mechanics

1. The stop-motion infomercial competition is open to all bonafide

College of Architecture and Urban Planning (CAUP) students of
Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila (PLM).
2. This competition is a team competition, each team shall be
made of at least three (3) and a maximum of five (5)
individuals. Members could come from other blocks, but must
be of the same year level.
3. Each year level may have a maximum of two (2)
representatives.
4. This competition is submitted and judged online.
5. All members of the team shall be official registrants and must
submit their entries on or before December 28, 2022.
6. Each team should create a 1-2 minute long infomercial video,
in a stop-motion filmmaking technique, regarding a particular
Philippine structure that is no longer existing today.
7. Upon choosing the site, a group chat will be created. All team
representatives should message the competition head to enlist
their chosen site, as there should be no repetition of structure
between teams. This will be a first come, first served basis.
8. Contest language is in Filipino and/or English. The use of Taglish
is permitted.
9. Each team has their own freedom to use any medium, whether
it be clay, cut-outs, legos, etc.
10. Entries must be the original work, owned, and recorded by the
participants and must not have been used and/or entered in
any contest prior to the start of the competition.
11. Entries will be posted on January 02, 2023 for online voting and
will end on January 05, 2023 at 11:59PM. Entries with the highest
number of hearts and like reactions will be receiving the
People’s Choice Award.
12. Announcement of winners will be on the culminating event, so
it is recommended that all teams will attend the face-to-face
event.
 Additional Instruction

1. The Patalastas event head shall create a group chat for easier
communication.
2. Entries will be posted on UAPSA PLM Facebook page to
maximize its exposure and serve its infomercial purpose.
3. Late submission will still be accepted, but five (5) points will be
deducted for every hour late, and will not be eligible for
People’s Choice Award.
4. All costs of production of the stop-motion film will be borne by
the team.
5. Organizers reserve the right to amend the competition
mechanic as it deems fit, without prior notice.

Submission Mechanics

1. Video format should be 16:9 aspect ratio with a 1920 x 1080

resolution and must be .mp4 or .mov rendered.

 1st Runner Up: PhP 800.00

People’s Choice Award: PhP 500.00
