About the Institute The SSB Academy Bhopal thrives to achieve excellence in the field of training and believes in making intelligent, professional
and dedicated set of officers who can serve the country with the sense of selflessness. The surroundings of the SSB Academy
Bhopal provide an ideal setting for the indoor and outdoor training activities. This elite and prestigious institution of learning is
mainly conducting the Basic Training of directly recruited Assistant Commandants and promotional courses for Officers up to
the rank of DIG. In addition to this Commando Courses, Border Management courses and special courses for other Police
Forces are also being conducted at this Academy.

Climatic Condition During summer season temperature goes up to 45ºC and it becomes hot and humid in the monsoon season. During winter it
remains cold & dry.
Communication/ By Air The Raja Bhoj Airport near satellite suburb Bairagarh has flights to most of the major cities in India.
How to reach?
By Train Bhopal Junction Railway Station is the largest and most important railway station in the city. Being on the main
North-South line it is connected by rail to all parts of the country except North-Eastern states.
By Road National Highway 12 passes through Bhopal which connects it to Jabalpur in the East and Jaipur in the West.
National Highway 17 connects Bhopal to Sagar in the East and Dewas in the West. State Highway 17 connects the
city with Indore.

About the Institute Gwaldam is located in between Almora and Chamoli Districts of Uttarakhand. Gwaldam is located at 30.2ºN
79.59ºE. It has an average elevation of 1,940 meters (6,364 feet) above MSL in the lap of the Himalayas.
It is about 20 km far from Baijnath, capital of medieval Katyuri kings and 25 km far from Kulsari, the famous
camp station of Nanda Devi Raj Jat Yatra. Courses on CI&JW/IS Duty Course/Mountaineering/
Commando /Identification & Handling of Explosive (IHE)/ Mountain Terrain Biking are being run by this
institution.

About the Institute This technical training centre imparts technical training to telecom personnel and conducts Basic and
Promotional Courses for the Communication personnel. This training centre was established in 1965 at

About the Institute The Institute was originally established as part of the Frontier Administrative Officers’ Training Centre (FAOTC),
which started functioning w.e.f. 28th Oct, 1963 at a Holiday Camp, Mahabaleshwar in Maharashtra. It was later
shifted from Mahabaleshwar to Panchgani during the year 1966. In the year 1970, it was shifted at Frontier

Aqua Marine Training Institute (AMTI), Porbandar (Gujarat)
About the Institute AMTI SSB Porbandar specifically deals in training of service personal as life guard by using advanced rescue
techniques such as fins swimming, snorkeling and scuba diving. Train force personnel in motor/paddle and
speed boat handling and maneuvering including carrying out minor repair of engines. It provides an
opportunity to force personnel to explore the adventure water sports.

Climatic Condition Hot Semi-arid climate. It remains Hot in April, May and early June (35ºC to 24ºC) and wet from mid-June to
Septembers (35ºC to 20ºC) due to Monsoon with average rainfall of 20-40mm. Weather becomes moderately
cold from October to March (24ºC to 18ºC).
Communication/ By Air Delhi to Ahmedabad/ Mumbai to Porbandar Spicejet daily.
How to reach?
By Train Trains from Delhi to Porbandar and Delhi to Ahmedabad are available.
By Road Ahmedabad to Porbandar by road.
Clothing & Equipment Swimming Costume for all activities will be provided by the AMTI, However, PT and Camouflage dresses are
required for PT and training purposes.
Barrack facilities for SOs/Ors. Tpt from Rly Stn to AMTI is provided by the Institute.
