It only takes one trip to realize that every destination is worth preserving.

Travel is not only where I go

to unwind and relax, but it's also where I volunteer in tourism-related programs that encourage
sustainable tourism. You can also learn about the local life and culture of a destination while doing
something nice for the environment. Similarly, there is no better way to promote sustainable tourism
than to participate in it directly and to share your experiences with your family, friends, or on social
media, because the more you share about it, the more you emphasize the importance of eco-friendly
travel. Mabuhay! Brix Raiven Collins BSTM-1 from Saint Joseph Institute of Technology.

Importance of Sustainability

The goal of sustainability is to increase our quality of life while both protecting the environment and
preserving natural resources for future generations. Being environmentally friendly and sustainable
benefits not only the firm, but it also gives us a public relations advantage over competitors that are
unconcerned about environmental issues. Sustainable acts help to make a significant change in society
in the long run. When we commit to sustainability, we reduce our carbon footprint and the amount of
pollutants we discharge into the environment, making the environment safer.Sustainability benefits the
entire world, and we get to live in cleaner, healthier environments.

Tourists continuously visit our country because they find comfort in the dream of the surroundings and
the calmness of the scene. Beautiful beaches with fine white sand and crystal clear water will truly
attract the hearts of tourists. We tend to set aside the effect of it on the environmental sector. Trees
were cut down to build buildings for the accommodation of tourists. Because of that, there are different
wastes scattered in the ocean, and the crystal clear becomes blurry and we cannot swim. The wave of
the water in the ocean becomes the flood of garbage through the sea. To achieve our goal, we should
start to discipline ourselves. Practicing clean as you go is one of the basic steps in achieving our goals.
The garbage that we bring to a specific destination should be our responsibility. We should clean before
we go, so that the garbage will not be scattered anywhere that may cause environmental issues.

Use reusable bags instead of plastic bags, carry separate bags for plastic bottles and paper, and bring
your own tumbler. Keep the area clean by putting trash in the appropriate bins and, most importantly,
refraining from vandalism. As travelers, we must exercise self-control. Smoking is strictly forbidden in
tourist areas. Alcohol consumption poses a risk to tourists and is strictly prohibited. Take care of
heritage sites. Because the heritage sites you visit are likely to be visited by a large number of other
people, it's important to take precautions to ensure that others can enjoy them as well. Every time we
visit a new place, we must show our respect to the locals.

We need to continue the growth of tourism in our country, and many foreigners come here as well. Let
us band together to broaden our horizons and entice people to visit us. Both rural and urban
communities are affected by improper trash disposal. We, the people of our town, are the ones who
must look after our environment. The majority of us do not protect our environment, but rather destroy
it. One way we can help to clean up our environment is by properly disposing of trash. As a student, one
of the ways I can give back to the community is to promote a deep understanding of appropriate waste
segregation and disposal. We all have a role to play, no matter how big or tiny it is. To make it a habit,
take action and repeat it. Remind others of the importance of REDUCE, REUSE, and RECYCLING by
sharing them.
