Re: Luellen Staple Sex/Age: F/45 DOB: 02 June 1977

ID: STA-71 Date: 08 August 2022

I received the phone call today from Dallas Juno, neurosurgery who advised
me that the above patient, Luellen Staple, needs to go back to the O.R for a
repeat surgery because of an apparent migration of bone grafting material
causing compression of a nerve on the contralateral side to what was
originally treated. This is what is causing the patient left lower extremity
weakness.

Dallas wanted to know if she could stop her Pradaxa. She spent on Pradaxa
for full five months, and it is certainly necessary to stop it prior to surgery.
The patient did develop post-operative DVT previously, but no pulmonary
emboli. Dallas asks that I admit the patient Sunday night for surgery on
Monday morning, no further details at this point.

Dallas will advise Ms. Staples when to stop the Pradaxa and we will take it
from there. I will do the admission workup and H&P Sunday night for an
early Monday morning surgery.
