Given a choice, would you live with your elderly grandparents?

-yes (good listener, family time, saving money, the care offered by loved ones)

As of 2022, 71% of Malaysia's population is aged 65 and above. At this rate,

Malaysia will transform from an ageing nation to an aged nation in just 25 years.

P1 – Good listener
A1 – Our elderly grandparents are the first people we used to hit up and talk to
express our feeling after a rough day or a heartbreak.
I1 – As the idiom goes, “An elderly person at home is like a living golden treasure.”
A2 – They would most likely give golden advice and solutions to solve the problems
and situations we have gone through most effectively.

P2 – The care offered by loved ones

A1 – They will usually offer and lend their hands to you by helping you with
households, daycares for children or even preparing meals and dinners for you.
A2 – The most astonishing about it is that they wouldn't ask for any shred of
reciprocity from you after they help.
A3 – So in this specific way, having your parents live with you can be a win-win
situation, as it eliminates the need for usual household and daycare, while it also
allows your parents to enjoy the company of a young family.

P3 – Saving money
A1 – Instead of spending thousands and thousands of dollars for your grandparents to
stay at a retirement home or other senior living facility, it could be a more cost-
effective option to let them stay with us.
A2 – It isn’t easy to pay for all those fees, insurance and stuff if you’ve planned for
your elderly to stay in a senior care home while you don’t have enough high income
to support it.

P4 – Spend more quality family time

A1 – This can also improve your family’s bonds and serve as an example of how you
can give back to your parents.
A2 – It can help to lessen the loneliness that many elders’ experiences, as well as
offer a welcoming environment in which your loved one can feel they are valued and
wanted

In conclusion, I would like to live with my elderly grandparents because of ________

Malaysia isn’t the destination where most people will have a great long list of places to visit.
Beyond the obvious candidates like Kuala Lumpur and Penang, many others are hard
pressed to come up with their names. That being said, one of the best up-and-coming
Malaysian destination is the curious city of Ipoh.

Looking through all these different places to visit in Ipoh. A couple of common themes
should be obvious – caves and temples. First and foremost, one of the furthest out temple to
visit is Kek Lok Tong Temple. On the outskirt of the city, this Buddhist Temple is situated
inside a great huge limestone cave. Even though it’s a temple, it’s not hard to be distracted
by the rock formations and stalactites

Furthermore, another interesting place you shouldn’t miss out is Lost World of Tambun. It’s
a water theme park with invigorating natural hot springs with different sizes and
temperatures. Moreover, it’s really chilling to play lots of fun rides there. If you want to ask
for the most special food in the paradise, it must be Dulang Tea House. The Dulang Tea
House is located in a cave and sells Ipoh's local delicacies, such as curry chicken, baked
bread, raw and boiled eggs and so on. Well the most astonishing fact about it is that this
place was honoured as one of the most not to be missed cafes.

Last but not least, you can go shopping at the concubine lane where you can buy many cute
and beautiful souvenirs as gifts and enjoy delicious local cuisines. By walking around there,
you would pretty clear notice how much effect the city’s Chinese population has had. Much
like in Malacca, quite a bit of Ipoh’s appearance has been shaped by homes and stores
designed in style of Chinese architecture.

yes and that’s all bye

Subject: Suggestions for your friends' visit

Dear Lisa, It's great to hear that your friends are coming for a visit! It's been ages
since the last time we met. I hope you and your family are doing well. How are things at your
new school recently? Hope we could meet up again during the upcoming school holidays!

For accommodation, I'd highly recommend Kinta River Front Hotel & Suites. This
hotel offers good service and comfortable rooms at reasonable rates with standard facilities
like cafés, restaurants, convenience shops, swimming pool and gym. Furthermore, it's
located in the middle of Ipoh Old Town and it's really easy for them to get around on foot for
sightseeing and hunting for food within its vicinity.

Public transport in Ipoh is usually reliable and inexpensive. For much of their
travelling, but particularly in Ipoh, the cost fee of taxis and trains will be slightly more pricey
than usual for foreign travellers. In addition, in my opinion, it could be a more cost-effective
opinion to see the surrounding area by bus. It's really convenient to find buses around Ipoh
and it only cost them to pay Rm0.50 for each person for each near or far place to go.

That's all from me. Hope my suggestions help. Get in touch and see you soon!

Best regards,

Olivia Chu.
As of 2022, 71% of Malaysia's population is aged 65 and above. At this rate,
Malaysia will transform from an ageing nation to an aged nation in just 25 years. As the
idiom goes, "An elderly person at home is like a living golden treasure." Our elderly
grandparents would always give golden pieces of advice and solutions to solve the problems
we are facing and the situation we are going through in the most effective way based on
their past experience. In my opinion, I agree that there are many things that young people
today, especially generation z should learn from the older generation. Here are a few
reasons to help me to support my statement.

First and foremost, one of the things that young people can learn from the older
generation is advice from true life experience. Seniors’ life is like a book that has
experienced all sorts of dimensions of life. Their life can be a guide for all of us which
teaches the very way we have to lead our lives. While it is not bad to rely on our own
instincts and make our own decisions in life, considering the valuable advice from the elders
who were there and has more experience, can definitely put us in the right direction.

Furthermore, another interesting thing we shouldn't miss out on learning from them
is the historical information. We can learn first-hand histories and experiences from our
older generation. They would most likely be willing to share many personal stories from the
civil rights era that sparked us to learn more on our own about a topic we didn't cover much
in school but that helps us understand our ancestry and story in Malaysia better.

Last but not least, we can also learn practical knowledge from our older generation.
Most formal education leans towards theory and sometimes what practical experience can
do, theory just can’t. Whether it is learning botany in the garden, chemistry in the kitchen or
maths with knitting, with the treasure trove of experience that they possess, they can bring
alive boring theoretical lessons for the young generation.

In conclusion, young generations nowadays can learn pieces of advice from life
experiences, historical information and practical knowledge from the older generation. If
you are living with your grandmother or grandfather, consider that you are blessed. You
have every opportunity to learn from them and gauge your views in a better perception.
