PREPARING TO RUN YOUR X-CELLERATOR ELECTRIC STADIUM TRUCK
Now that you are familiar with the major component parts of your X-Cellerator Electric Stadium Truck, and with the functions of the Hitec
Aggressor transmitter and the Mtroniks ECO 20 ESC, it's time to prepare your X-Cellerator Electric Stadium Truck for its first run.

✦ IMPORTANT✦ ✦ Before continuing, please double-check that you've read and understood the warnings printed on page # 2. It's
important that you understand this information before preparing to run your X-Cellerator Electric Stadium Truck. Also remember, if you
have any questions or encounter any problems, you can contact us using the Customer Service Information on page # 2.

YOUR X-CELLERATOR ELECTRIC STADIUM TRUCK SHOULD INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING ITEMS SEPARATELY IN THE BOX:
● X-Cellerator Electric Chassis ● Body Clips
● Hitec Aggressor AM Transmitter ● Decal Set
● Telescoping Transmitter Antenna ● 1º Rear Squat Adjustment Plate
● Body w/Wing and Mounting Screws ● Plastic Receiver Antenna Tube

STEP 1: FINAL ASSEMBLY

❑ Push the telescoping transmitter antenna down into the molded hole in the top of the
transmitter.

❑ Thread the antenna (clockwise) into place and tighten it gently until it stops.

✦ IMPORTANT✦ ✦ Do not force the antenna into place or tighten it too strongly. Doing so
could cause damage to the antenna and/or transmitter.

❑ Remove the plastic battery cover from the bottom of the transmitter.

❑ Install 8 AA Alkaline batteries into the battery tray, double-checking to make sure that
the polarity is correct.

❑ Reinstall the battery cover and set the transmitter aside for now.

HITEC AGGRESSOR TRANSMITTER UPGRADE TIP

Upgrading your transmitter to use rechargeable NiCD cells is easy. All you
need to do is purchase 8 AA rechargeable NiCD cells (P/N 256911) and a
110V AC overnight charger (P/N 759805). This will allow you to recharge the
batteries without removing the batteries from the transmitter and it will save
you money in the long run, since you won't need to purchase Alkaline
batteries when they run low.

❑ Uncoil the receiver antenna and feed it up through the hole in the antenna mount that's
directly behind the receiver.

❑ Slide the receiver antenna into one end of the plastic antenna tube and out the
other end.

✦ IMPORTANT✦ ✦ To make it easier to slide the antenna through the tube, first make
sure there are no kinks or bends in the antenna wire, then wet the antenna wire with
Windex®. The Windex® will make the antenna slide easily through the tube.

6 Continued On Next Page ☛

❑ Push the end of the antenna tube firmly into the molded hole in the top of the antenna
mount.

✦ IMPORTANT✦ ✦ Leave the excess antenna hanging from the top of the tube. Under
no circumstances should you cut or shorten the antenna or you will lose control of the
model in a very short distance.

BATTERY PACK TIP

Before installing your battery pack, it should be fully charged. If you purchased your
battery pack new, it will not have a full charge. It must be charged first. Make sure to
read and understand the instructions included with your battery charger before
charging your battery pack.

❑ Remove the two C-Clips that hold the battery mounting plate in place.

❑ Remove the battery mounting plate from the battery holder.

PRO TIP
If you are using a 7 cell battery pack, you will need to remove the two foam rubber
spacers from the battery holder, so that the battery pack will fit. If you're using a 6 cell
battery pack, leave the two foam rubber spacers installed.

❑ Set your battery into the battery holder (with the battery plug toward the front of
the truck).

❑ Reinstall the battery mounting plate, using the two C-Clips to hold the battery in place.

X-CELLERATOR ELECTRIC SAFETY TIP

To prevent any chance of radio system interference or a runaway model, always turn on the
transmitter before plugging in the battery pack. The ESC does not feature an on/off switch,
so when you plug in the battery pack the receiver, servo and ESC will have power.

❑ Slide the transmitter's on/off switch up to turn on the transmitter. The green LED should
glow brightly. If the green LED does not glow or if the red LED is glowing, check the
batteries in the transmitter and replace them if necessary.

✦ IMPORTANT✦ ✦ Before plugging in the battery pack, double-check that both the steering trim dial and the throttle trim dial on the
transmitter are centered. Centering the throttle trim dial will ensure that the motor will not turn on when you plug in the battery pack.

❑ Plug the battery pack connector into the matching connector on the ESC. Both red and
green LEDs will blink, indicating a good receiver signal, then will stay illuminated.

✦ IMPORTANT✦ ✦ Do not drive the truck around yet. The ESC still needs to be
programmed for correct throttle control. That will be done later.

7 Continued On Next Page ☛

STEP 2: DOUBLE-CHECK THE STEERING AND THROTTLE CONTROLS

❑ With the transmitter turned on and the battery pack plugged in,
rotate the transmitter's wheel forward (to the right). The truck's
front wheels should turn right.

✦ IMPORTANT✦ ✦ If the wheels don't turn right, flip the steering

servo reversing switch on the top of the transmitter to change the
direction that the front wheels turn. Refer to the transmitter photo
and definitions on page # 4 if you don't remember how to use the
servo reversing switches.

❑ Rotate the transmitter's wheel backward (to the left). The

truck's front wheels should turn left.

❑ Let go of the transmitter wheel. The truck's wheels should return

to center.

✦ IMPORTANT✦ ✦ If the wheels do not point straight ahead (center)

after you return the transmitter wheel to center, turn the steering
trim dial on the transmitter to adjust the wheels so that they point
straight ahead. Refer to the transmitter photo and definitions on
page # 4 if you don't remember how to use the servo trim dial.

❑ While holding the truck off the ground, pull back on the throttle
trigger. The rear wheels should spin counter-clockwise.

❑ Release the trigger and the rear wheels should stop spinning.

✦ IMPORTANT✦ ✦ If the rear wheels don't spin counter-clockwise,

flip the throttle reversing switch on the top of the transmitter to change
the direction that the rear wheels spin. Refer to the transmitter
photo and definitions on page # 4 if you don't remember how to
use the servo reversing switches.

❑ While holding the truck off the ground, push forward on the throttle
trigger. The rear wheels should spin clockwise.

❑ Release the trigger and the rear wheels should stop spinning.

8 Continued On Next Page ☛

STEP 3: RANGE CHECKING THE RADIO CONTROL SYSTEM

To ensure that the radio control system is operating properly and to prevent any chance of a runaway model, the radio control system
should be range checked before the first run of the day and/or after a crash. To range check the radio control system, do the following:

❑ With the transmitter and receiver turned on, extend the transmitter antenna completely.

❑ With the X-Cellerator Electric Stadium Truck on the ground walk away from it about 75 feet. Move the steering wheel while looking
at the truck's front wheels. The wheels should pivot back and forth as you rotate the steering wheel back and forth.

✦ IMPORTANT✦ ✦ If the radio system does not operate properly (i.e., the wheels don't pivot back and forth and/or pivot back and forth
erratically), please refer to the troubleshooting guide on page # 15 before continuing further. Never attempt to operate your X-Cellerator
Electric Stadium Truck if the radio control system is not functioning properly.

STEP 4: PROGRAMMING THE ELECTRONIC SPEED CONTROL

Before running your X-Cellerator Electric Stadium Truck for the first time, you must program the throttle end-points into the ESC. If you
don't, the ESC will not produce full power and the brake and reverse functions may not work properly. To program the ESC, follow these
procedures:

❑ Turn on the transmitter, then plug in the battery pack. You will notice that the
ESC PROGRAMMING TIP
red and green LEDs begin flashing. While the LEDs are flashing, press the SET
button once. The green LED will light, indicating that the NEUTRAL setting has Before programming the ESC, verify that the throttle
been stored and the ESC is ready to accept the full forward speed setting. trim dial on the transmitter is in the neutral position.

❑ Pull the throttle trigger completely back until it stops, then release the throttle trigger. The red LED will light, indicating that the full
speed setting has been stored and the ESC is ready to accept the full reverse/brake setting.

❑ Push the throttle trigger completely forward until it stops, then release the throttle trigger. The red and green LEDs will light, indicating
that the full reverse/brake setting has been stored. The ESC is now ready for use.

✦ IMPORTANT✦ ✦ The ESC does NOT need to be reprogrammed every time the battery pack is disconnected. If you don't press the
SET button after connecting the battery pack (while the LEDs are flashing), the ESC will default to the last known program information.

DISABLING THE ESC REVERSE FUNCTION

In some cases (e.g., if you are racing) it may be against the rules to use reverse. In this case, the ESC can be programmed to disable
the reverse function and use only the forward and brake functions. To disable the reverse function, follow these procedures:

❑ After you have set up and stored the full forward setting and the red LED lights, press and hold the SET button until the red and
green LEDs begin to alternately flash. When the green LED flashes by itself, release the SET button.
❑ Push the throttle trigger completely forward until it stops, then release the throttle trigger. The red and green LEDs will light,
indicating that the ESC is now ready for use with the reverse function disabled.

INSTALLING THE BODY

❑ Carefully peel the protective layer from off the top of the body and wing.

✦ IMPORTANT✦ ✦ The body and wing are covered by a thin plastic protective layer at
the factory that prevents damage to the body and wing during assembly and shipping.
This protective layer must be removed before you apply the decals.

❑ Remove the decals from the protective backing and adhere them onto the body.

9 Continued On Next Page ☛

❑ Secure the wing to the body, using the two screws provided. Tighten the screws
gently, so that you don't strip out the plastic.

❑ Install the body onto the chassis, using the body clips provided to hold it in place.

❑ Double-check that the body does not interfere with the wheels or the suspension. If it
does, you will need to trim the body slightly to fit around those areas.

PRO TIP
Always make sure that you install the body when driving your X-Cellerator Electric
Stadium Truck. If your truck flips over, the body will help protect the chassis and its
components.

MAKING CHASSIS ADJUSTMENTS

Chassis alignment and geometry are important if you want your X-Cellerator Electric Stadium Truck to perform well. A good performing
truck means a truck that is easier to drive, too. Follow our guidelines in this section to get the most out of your X-Cellerator Electric
Stadium Truck.

✦ IMPORTANT✦ ✦ It's very important when making changes to the settings of your X-Cellerator Electric Stadium Truck that you make
the settings the same for each side. For example, if you change the spring tension on the right front shock, you should change the
spring tension on the left front shock the same amount, etc.
Do not make any changes that are more than 3 degrees from the initial settings listed or the handling characteristics of your truck will
become very poor.

ADJUSTING THE TOE ANGLE

The toe angle is the angle of both front tires (or rear tires) to each other, when viewed from above. Toe-in is when both front or rear tires
point toward each other and toe-out is when both front or rear tires point away from each other.

● For the front tires, toe-in will make your truck track straighter, but the steering will be more sensitive. Toe-out will desensitize the
steering, making the truck a little more driver-friendly.
● Toe-in on the rear tires is fixed at approximately 2º to give the rear end a little more "bite." The toe angle is not adjustable.

RECOMMENDED INITIAL SETTINGS:

● 1-2 degrees toe-in on the front to add stability.

☞ Adding more than 3 degrees of toe-in or toe-out will result in excessive loss of speed
and erratic handling.

✦ IMPORTANT✦ ✦ For more precise toe-in adjustments, use the R.P.M. Toe-in Gauge
part # 708049.

❑ To adjust the toe-angle of the front tires, turn the tie-rods (steel rods connecting each wheel to the steering arm) in or out with an
adjustable wrench.

10 Continued On Next Page ☛

ADJUSTING THE CAMBER ANGLE

Camber is referred to as the amount of the tire's surface that contacts the ground. Tires that are exactly perpendicular to ground have
0 degrees of camber. If the top of the tire leans in toward the chassis, the tire has negative camber. If the top of the tire leans out away
from the chassis, the tire has positive camber.

RECOMMENDED INITIAL CAMBER SETTINGS:

● For driving on smooth surfaces set both the front and back wheels at 0 degrees.
● For driving on rough surfaces set the front wheels at -1 degree and the back wheels at -2 degrees.

☞ Camber settings should be measured

with the vehicle at its normal ride height.

✦ IMPORTANT✦ ✦ For more precise

camber adjustments, use the R.P.M.
Precision Camber Gauge part # 708099.

❑ Adjust the camber angle of the wheels by using an adjustable wrench to turn the upper turnbuckles in or out.

ADJUSTING SHOCK SPRING TENSION

By adjusting the spring tension of the shocks, you can increase steering sensitivity, adjust the ride-height of your truck and fine-tune the
dampening quality of the suspension system. How you drive your truck will dictate what settings you should be using. As an example,
if you're driving your truck off-road and going over lots of jumps, you may want to increase the spring tension of the front shocks to help
prevent the front of the truck from bottoming out. If you're racing your truck, local track conditions will dictate the settings to use.

RECOMMENDED INITIAL SETTINGS:

● We recommend initially leaving the adjustment rings in the factory locations.

❑ Increase or decrease spring tension by threading the adjustment ring up or down the
shock body.
Threading the ring down increases spring tension and the truck's ride height, and will
stiffen the overall dampening characteristics of the suspension. Threading the ring up
decreases spring tension and makes the dampening characteristics of the suspension softer.

☞ When adjusting the spring tension, make sure to adjust the right and left sides equally.

ADJUSTING SHOCK DAMPENING AND MOUNTING POSITION

Changing the shock oil (the oil inside the shocks) will change the dampening characteristics
of the shocks. Typically, if you are running on smooth surfaces, use a heavier weight oil.
If you are running on rough surfaces, use a lighter weight oil. If you will be doing a lot of
jumping with your truck, use heavier weight oil to increase the dampening ability of the
suspension.

✦ IMPORTANT✦ ✦ We recommend using only 100% Silicone Shock Oil. Do not use
motor oil. The shock oil used in the X-Cellerator Electric Stadium Truck is 40Wt shock oil.

The upper shock mounting positions can be changed to fine tune the suspension. As an example, moving the upper mounting position
of the rear shocks to a hole in the shock tower that results in the shock assembly being more upright will result in more "bite" in the rear
of the truck.

11 Continued On Next Page ☛

ADJUSTING THE SLIPPER CLUTCH

The slipper clutch is a traction control device that uses two metal plates and two fiber pads to control how much power is transmitted from
the motor to the gear box and drive-train. Adjusting the slipper clutch allows you to fine tune how your truck reacts when giving it throttle.
Driving the truck with the slipper clutch too tight will usually result in the truck doing wheelies or spinning out of control instead of
accelerating. Driving the truck with the slipper clutch too loose will result in very poor or no acceleration at all.

RECOMMENDED INITIAL SETTINGS:

● Initially no adjustments should be necessary. The slipper clutch is preset from the factory. If you do adjust the slipper clutch, make
adjustments in 1/4-turn increments until you are satisfied with the result.

✦IMPORTANT✦ ✦ Running the slipper clutch too loose can cause the fiber pads to wear out very quickly and replacement under this
circumstance will not be covered under warranty.

❑ To adjust the slipper clutch, first remove the plastic cap from the slipper clutch cover,
then tighten the hex nut (turn clockwise) to tighten the clutch (less slip) or loosen the hex
nut (turn counter-clockwise) to loosen the clutch (more slip). After making each
adjustment, accelerate the truck for a short distance while carefully watching how the
truck accelerates. Continue to make adjustments until you're satisfied with how the truck
accelerates.

RESETTING THE SLIPPER CLUTCH

If you need to reset the slipper clutch to the factory setting, follow these simple procedures:

❑ Loosen the adjustment nut so that it's flush with the end of the threaded rod, then tighten the adjustment nut 4 full turns.

ADJUSTING THE REAR SQUAT ANGLE

You can adjust the truck's rear squat angle to fine-tune the amount the rear end of the truck "sits" or "squats" under acceleration and rear
end traction. The truck is assembled using a 3 degree plate that is good for rough track conditions. This angles the rear arms up a little
bit more to help absorb the rough stuff. If you're running on a very smooth track, you may want to use the 1 degree plate to lower the
angle of the rear arms and get better traction.

RECOMMENDED INITIAL SETTINGS:

● A 3º squat plate is installed from the factory. Initially, we don't suggest changing the rear squat angle.

❑ Remove the four screws (two on the top and two on the bottom) ❑ Remove the plastic squat plate from the hinge pin mounting
that hold the motor guard in place, then remove the motor guard. block, then install the desired plate onto the hinge pin mounting

ADJUSTING THE BALL DIFFERENTIAL

The ball differential should be adjusted after the first couple of runs. After that, it should require very little adjustment - only to fine tune
the differential to your driving style or track conditions.

RECOMMENDED INITIAL SETTINGS:

● Initially no adjustments should be necessary. After you've driven the truck a few times, the differential will have "broken in," causing
the initial setting to change slightly. At this point you should readjust the differential to your liking - usually about 1/2 a turn from tight.

❑ To adjust the differential, pull the passenger's side axle from the drive cup. To do this,
first remove the wheel from the axle, then remove the shock assembly from only the shock
tower. Next, remove the turnbuckle from the chassis, then lower the suspension arm
down as far as possible. The axle should come out of the drive cup.
❑ After the axle is removed from the drive cup, use a small screwdriver to pop out the
nylon plate that is inside the drive cup. This will expose the hex screw that is used to
adjust the differential.

❑ While holding the opposite wheel with one hand, use a 5/64" hex wrench to tighten or loosen the hex screw in the center of the drive
cup, until you're satisfied with the operation of the differential. Tightening the hex screw will tighten the differential and loosening the hex
screw will loosen the differential.
❑ After adjusting the differential, reinstall the assemblies in the reverse order of removal.

RESETTING THE DIFFERENTIAL

If you need to reset the differential to the factory setting, follow these simple procedures:

❑ Tighten the hex screw completely tight, then loosen the hex screw 1/2 of a turn.

ADJUSTING THE GEAR MESH

It's important to periodically check the mesh between the pinion gear and the spur gear. Sometimes the motor can work itself out of
alignment during very rough running conditions, which will cause gear mesh problems.

❑ Remove the two screws that hold the slipper clutch cover in place, then remove the
slipper clutch cover.
❑ Loosen the two screws that hold the motor in place, then pivot the motor away from the
spur gear, so that the gear mesh is loose.
❑ Slide a thin strip of notebook paper between the pinion gear and spur gear, push the
motor up against the spur gear until the paper is crinkled, then retighten the two screws.

❑ Remove the paper and double-check the gear mesh. If the gear mesh is set properly, you should feel a very small amount of play
between the two gears. If there is an excessive amount of play or no play at all, readjust the gear mesh again.

MAINTAINING YOUR X-CELLERATOR ELECTRIC STADIUM TRUCK
Following a simple maintenance schedule will ensure that your X-Cellerator Electric Stadium Truck, Mtroniks ECO 20 ESC and Hitec
Aggressor radio control system operate in top condition every time you use them. It is strongly suggested.

● Periodically check the gear mesh to make sure it is not out of alignment. If necessary, reset the gear mesh before running the truck
again. Don't run the truck with the gear mesh out of alignment.

● Check the chassis for any loose screws, nuts or bolts. Tighten them if necessary.

● Any screws that are threaded directly into metal should be secured into place with Blue Lock-Tite. This will prevent
the screws from loosening during use. Screws threaded into nylon or composite material do not require Lock-Tite.

● Check the steering linkage for any signs of wear or misalignment. Tighten and/or readjust it if necessary.

● Once in a while, remove the wheels and clean the wheel bearings, using a bearing cleaner. This will remove any dust
and grit that may, over time, damage the bearings.

● Check the electronics for any signs of damage. This should include the steering servo, receiver, motor, wiring and electronic speed
control.

● After a period of time the chassis will accumulate a lot of dirt and debris. This build-up should be cleaned off using a stiff brush and
high-pressure air. Soap and water can also be used, but you will need to remove the steering servo and receiver so that they don't get
damaged. They are not waterproof. Because the chassis is assembled from molded nylon and plastic parts, use of chemical spray
cleaners is not recommended. These cleaners may damage the parts. Replacement of parts damaged by chemical cleaners will
not be covered under warranty.

● After cleaning the chassis you should oil the moving parts of the chassis. Do not oil the slipper clutch or you will damage the fiber discs
and the slipper clutch will not work.

● Periodically remove the motor and clean it thoroughly using a high-pressure motor cleaner spray. After cleaning you

should apply a couple of drops of lubricating oil to the motor bushings on each end of the motor.

● Periodically check the condition of the transmitter batteries. If you think they might be low, replace them with a fresh

set.

● Check the condition of the electrical connectors, including the battery pack connector, for any signs of wear or

damage.

● Check the body mounts and clips for any signs of damage.

● Periodically check the tire/wheel joints. If a tire is coming loose from the wheel, carefully glue it back down using a

thin bead of tire glue.

● Periodically disassemble the slipper clutch and clean any dirt and grime off of the two metal halves of the slipper clutch, using a fine
Scotch-Brite® pad. Check the condition of the slipper pads. If they are distorted or otherwise damaged, replace them.

● Periodically check the ball differential for signs of wear. Hold the spur gear and slowly rotate one wheel. If the ball differential
doesn't feel smooth (i.e., if it feels "gritty" or rough), disassemble the differential and clean the components. If the balls look damaged
or worn, replace them.

● When you disassemble the truck for major cleaning and/or maintenance, double-check that the hinge pins are true and straight.
This can be checked by simply rolling them along a smooth, flat surface.

● Periodically remove the shocks and springs, and clean any dirt and grime from the shock shafts and the lower portion of the shock
bodies. This will help prevent dirt from damaging the o-ring seals.

● Check the receiver antenna for any signs of damage. If the receiver antenna appears cut or frayed, return your receiver to Hitec/RCD
to have the antenna replaced.
