EXAMPLES: Convert the following units into the units shown in brackets:

SOLUTIONS:

1. 2 cm2 = 2 × 102 2. 10 m2 = 10 × 1002

= 200 mm2 = 100 000 cm2

3. 2 km2 = (2 × 10002 ) ÷ 10 000 4. 5 ha = 5 × 10 000

= 200 ha = 50 000 m2
5. 800 mm2 = 800 ÷ 102 6. 4 m2 = 4 × 1002 × 102

= 8 cm2 = 4 000 000 mm2
