WE ARE A SHARED USE FACILITY!


Follow the rules and operate properly
• Electron microscopes are extremely high precision devices
• Repair will cost a great deal and also stop the shared use for a certain amount
of time
• We may deny your further use if your use is not proper
Operate yourself
• We have training courses to teach you how to operate our facility
• Feel free to ask for technical support
Plan well and reserve the machine time you need
• Select the apropreate microscope for your work
• The cutting edge microscopes are not always the best for all experiment

Your Cooperative Use

Specimen NOT ALLOWED


Dangerous Substances
• Samples that may cause combustion or explosion
• Toxic samples
• Samples that are unable to be handled safely
Specimen which need URC staff permission
Substances which may cause damage or restricted by law
• Radio active substances
• Magnetic substances
• Liquids or Highly volatile substances

Your Cooperative Use

Before your USE


• Fill in the ENTER/EXIT recode at the entrance hall
• Virus check your USB thumb drives at the entrance hall
• The Entrance is locked at night (6:00 PM ~ 8:30 AM)
• If needed, get a Guest Card Key before 5 PM at the URC office

When you have trouble


• Inform the URC staff As Soon As Possible
• If NO staff is present (3rd period), leave a MEMO describing the problem
and explain the staff next morning

When you finish


• Fill in the usage record
• Check that everything is as it was when you started

Inform the URC office if your use finished earlier than your reservation
(Cancelling with no notice will be billed!!)

People who will use High Voltage TEM


• Additional submission of an experiment plan is needed
• Must wear a Film badge dosimeter

• List of Degrees / Awards
• Manuscript for the Annual Report
Annual Report will be uploaded to the Repository of Kyushu
Univ. Take care or the property rights and originality if the
material is already reported to a academic journal
