    PROJECT AIM TYPE OF CONTRACT

    The aim of the project is Solid Waste Design Build Finance Operate And Maintain (DBFOM)
    Management of the 3 municipalities of

    Chennai covering a area of 58.22km2
    whose population is of 503012 ( in 2008) The municipalities pay the concessionaire tipping fee
    and average quantity of waste disposed payable per Mt waste generated by respective
    and collected is around 256MT/day. municipalities

    SALIENT FEATURES

    They have a disposal site of 50 acres 15km far


    ,land will be provided by Municipality at
    annual lease

    The waste segregation and collection till the


    transfer station is responsibility of respective
    municipalities

    Total Cost of the project is 44.2cr, where 50%


    of cost is shared by Government of India and
    Government of Tamil Nadu ,The balance 50%is
    funded by the PPP Partner

    Bus terminus built in 1970 has been in


    dilapidated stand with no passenger
    amenities. Hence, the Modern Central Bus
    Terminus was to be developed and up for
    bidding
