Approved Project Quality Plan Approved HSEM Plan. Approved contract Drawing. Approved Shop-drawing. 4.0 RESPONSIBLITIES 4.1 CONSTRUCTION MANAGER/PROJECT ENGINEERS & ENGINEERS 4.1.1. Ensuring that the Surveyors and Foremen are aware of latest issue of “For Construction” shop drawings. 4.41.2. Ensuring that the works are carried out to the levels and layout made by the Surveyor 4.1.3 Ensuring that the works are carried out in accordance with the approved method statement. Page 3 0f7 5S & moe Ghantoot Gulf Contracting | Naga Architects, Designers & DAMAC Properties Planners 4.1.4 If the approval is given at night or in dark interiors, adequate lighting shall be placed at the work spot. 4.2 LAND SURVEYORS 4.21 The Surveyors will be responsible for establishing the Control Points, Bench Marks, levels for the Block work. 4.3. FOREMAN AND OTHER TRADE 4.3.1 Different discipline Foremen and other trade will follow this method statement as directed by Construction Manager/Project Engineer and Engineers. 4.4 QC ENGINEERS 4.4.1 QC Engineers will document all inspections and check lists, and inspection request will be raised as per the Inspection and Test Plan specific to this activity and shall be submitted separately for review and approval of the Engineer. 4.4.2. Alltests required shall be carried out in accordance with Specifications and Applicable BS codes by an approved Independent Laboratory. 4.4.3. Test reports shall be forwarded to the Engineer once received from the Independent Laboratory 5.0 EQUIPMENT 5.1 Plumb Bob/Survey strings, Containers for mortar, mixing tools, Block cutting machine _/ Grinders, Survey -Total station, mobile lighting tower (in case of night operations) and other miscellaneous items. The work should not proceed until area is clean, and free from debris. R.C. walls/columns in contact with block work shall be properly cleaned. Approved block accessories with all relevant tools shall be available near masons. (Shooting machine, nails, grinders, cutting discs etc). Specified trained and skilled labors shall be assigned to use the mechanical tools. All blocks and block bed shall be adequately wetted. Surveyor to mark the layout of block walls (Internal and External) according to the approved shop drawings. Inspection request to be raised to the Engineer to check/ Approve the lay out. Upon approval of layout, work to proceed for the maximum height of not more than five courses of blocks in any one day within any section of walling. Solid Concrete blocks should be cut if necessary with mechanical cutting disc on site, Joints to be aligned horizontally, and staggered, aligned vertically. Strictly follow the mortar manufacturer instructions related to mixing ratios, mixing procedure and time of mixing. The approved block accessories must be fixed and placed as the approved sample and recommended by manufacturer. Block walls shall be reinforced horizontally with expanded stainless stee! mesh joint reinforcement embedded in the horizontal mortar joints not closer than 20mm from the external face of the wall and except at movement joints, shall be continuous and lapped at least 75mm at all passings. Expanded steel mesh horizontal reinforcement shall be provided every second course or as shown in the approved shop drawings. Wall ties shall be built in the mortar beds as the work proceeds and shall be spaced at a maximum of 800 mm horizontally and 400 mm vertically and shall be staggered Page 5of7 = [as ACT Ghantoot Gulf Contracting | Naga Architects, De: Planners ers & DAMAC Properties 6.16 All joints shall be of consistent thickness (average 10mm), all horizontal joints shall be properly leveled and vertical joints shall be properly lined and quoins and other angles plumbed as the work proceeds. 6.17 Continuous curing for the executed masonry walls shall be ensured as per the mortar manufacturer's recommendation. 6.18 Producti \n of mortar on site ‘Approved design mix shall be used. * Cube test for comprehensive strength of mortar will arrange. © Dry mixed from Ready Mix Plant will be used and mortar shall be mechanical mixers. ‘+ Mixed mortars shall be stored above polythene sheets and transported to the required place with hand tools. The mixed mortar shall be used within 30 minutes after adding water. No further water should be added to the mix. + Hard and set materials should not be re-mixed. id with 6.19 Waterproofing: Both faces of the Solid block works below ground level shall be treated with two coats of rubberised bitumen paint. 6 Qalac All inspection requests shall be submitted to the Engineer prior to application of the material. The following points shall be ensured. * Appropriate approved materials are used. ‘+ Appropriate equipment is used. * Skilled labourers are used for the application of material. Permit system (as per company policy) should be strictly followed by all, whom so ever is dealing with such hot works. Alert / fire fighting team should exist effectively.
