ABOUT ME
Hello! My name is Mukunda.

I have done my bachelors in Mechanical Engineering, after working as a

senior analyst at Capgemini for a year, I currently work as a animation
layout artist but i am also a landscape photographer, Mask artist and an
aspiring game developer.

I was born in Assam and growing up I was always interested in the local
Art and craft culture. Because of my interest My mother gave me the
opportunity to learn about Mask art and bhaona(theatrical performances
in vaishnavite traditions).

During my engineering, I fell in love with photography and digital painting

and later got introduced to the wonderful world of animation and game
development. I was associated with the game developers club in my
engineering college and worked as a game artist for many passion
projects.
“Tears in heaven “ a stop motion animation
video

I created a short video of stop motion animation as an

accompanying visual experience for a cover song sung by one of
my friends. The song is “tears in heaven” by Eric Clapton.

The project started with a voice note of the song and then later on
after discussion my friend mentioned  that growing up he really
liked watching shaun the sheep . So I decided  stop motion
medium would be appropriate for the music video.
INITIAL SKETCHES
The project started with a few napkin sketches
that i sent over to my friend. The idea was to
explore different settings and the personality of
the stop motion puppet.
CHARACTER EXPLORATIONS
I started out with rough sketches on
sticky notes, tried to come up with
many variations in the early stage.

In the character sheet

I explored the color scheme for the

clothing of the character and mouth
shapes for lip sync.
SET AND PUPPET DESIGN
SHOOTING
I used Stop motion Studio app on my mobile phone to start the stop motion
recoding process. for lighting i used a 50W light with a diffuser box as key light,
the tube-light of my room as fill light and an LED light in the back as rim light.

Initial storyboarding
I started by making rough sketches on sticky notes and figuring out the timing by acting out in front of the camera and
understanding the movement .Later I drew the storyboards on my sketchbook.
