Simple past

It is used for actions that started and nished at a speci c moment in the past. It’s possible to use the
simple past in a sentence without specifying a time, but it must be clear that the speaker is referring
to a nished period. 

The action can’t be repeated.

Actions that were completed in a time before the present.

The process of performing the action is not more important than the moment.

A rmative

- Regular verbs:

(+) noun + (verb + ED ) + complement.

When a verb ends in -e we simply add -d. And when a verb


Ex: I workED yesterday.

ends in a consonant and -y, we change the -y to -i and add -ed.

She traveled last week.

They loved the surprise.

- Irregular verbs: memorize list.

Negative and Interrogativ


We use the auxiliary verb “DID” -> it conjugates the sentence, so when it is used you don’t need to
conjugate the following verb
(-) noun + did + not + verb + complement
(?) did + noun + verb + complement +
Ex: You didn’t work yesterday
When did you have lunch?
