Task instructions

This assessment accompanies attendance of an introductory photography workshop on the use of digital cameras.
Students will refer to the manufacturer’s specifications and explore the following camera features:
• Focus – auto & manual
• Aperture/Shutter speed/ Program settings
• ISO light sensitivity setting
• Depth of field
• Quality settings – including RAW image format
• Preview image
The assessment in the classroom consists of 7 questions and you will also need to submit a series of images
displaying a basic understanding of digital camera use to capture images.

Conditions for assessment


This is an individual written task. You must not copy the work of others.
If you need extra time or a verbal assessment, talk to your trainer at least one week before to arrange this.
The trainer can help you understand a question but can give you no more support than this.
Give your completed work to the trainer. You will be assessed as satisfactory or not satisfactory. All the questions must
be answered to be assessed satisfactory.
You can appeal the assessment decision according to the RTO assessment policy and procedure.
