I.

Project Title:

This project proposal is entitled “Stray animals and Management” which helps

the Brgy. Trinidad to lessen the stray animals scatterd along the puroks. Also this

would serve as primary concerns about the “poops”and trashes we seen along the

roads of the said baranggay.

II. Project Proponents:

This project is headed by the Brgy. Trinidad Council/ Staff in collaboration with

Local Government Unit of Calbayog (LGU) and with the help of the Brgy. Trinidad

Residents.

III. Project Rationale

This project proposal aims to address the issue of stray animals' welfare and

management in our baranggay. Stray animals, including dogs, cats, and other

domesticated animals, often suffer from neglect, hunger, and disease, leading to

public health concerns and animal welfare issues. The proposed project seeks to

implement a comprehensive and sustainable approach to reduce the stray animal

population, improve their well-being, and promote responsible pet ownership.

IV. Project`s Objectives :

a. Reduce the stray animal population through spaying and neutering initiatives.

b. Improve the health and well-being of stray animals through vaccination and

medical treatment.

c. Implement effective stray animal management programs.


d. Educate the public on responsible pet ownership and the importance of animal

welfare.

e. Foster partnerships with local stakeholders, including government agencies,

NGOs, and communities.

V. Proposed Activities

a. Stray Animal Population Control:

i. Conduct spaying and neutering campaigns targeting stray animals in

collaboration with veterinary clinics, NGOs, and volunteers.

ii. Establish temporary shelters for stray animals during the recovery period after

sterilization procedures.

iii. Develop a systematic identification and tracking system for sterilized animals

to monitor the impact of the program.

b. Health and Well-being:

i. Organize regular vaccination and medical treatment camps in collaboration

with veterinary professionals.

ii. Set up mobile clinics to provide basic healthcare services to stray animals in

different areas of the city/region.

iii. Implement a trap-neuter-return (TNR) program for feral cat colonies to prevent

overpopulation.

c. Stray Animal Management:

i. Develop a comprehensive database of stray animals, including their location,

behavior, and health status, to aid in effective management strategies.

ii. Implement a humane stray animal control program that focuses on relocation

and rehabilitation rather than euthanasia.


iii. Collaborate with local authorities to establish designated feeding stations and

manage feeding schedules to reduce stray animals' dependency on garbage

and public spaces.

d. Public Education and Awareness:

i. Conduct awareness campaigns targeting schools, colleges, and community

centers to educate the public on responsible pet ownership, animal welfare,

and the consequences of abandoning pets.

ii. Organize workshops and training sessions for veterinary students, local

volunteers, and animal caregivers to enhance their skills and knowledge in

stray animal care.

e. Partnerships and Collaboration:

i. Establish partnerships with local government agencies, NGOs, and animal

welfare organizations to pool resources, share expertise, and promote a

coordinated approach to stray animal management.

ii. Engage community leaders, neighborhood associations, and volunteers to

actively participate in stray animal rescue, rehabilitation, and adoption

programs.

VI. Project Implementation

By the end of this quarter the barangay officials can take actions in

collaboration with the residents and the lgu.

 Dissimination of the information will be on June 30 2023 (Friday)

 Collaboration of the persons involved will be on June 31

2023( Saturday)

 Monitoring of the activity will be on July 15 2023 ( Saturday)


VII. Budget and Resources:

The project requires a comprehensive budget to cover the following areas: a.

Veterinary services, including spaying/neutering, vaccinations, and medical

treatments. b. Establishment and maintenance of temporary shelters, mobile clinics,

and feeding stations. c. Awareness campaigns, workshops, and educational

materials. d. Administrative expenses, including staff salaries, transportation, and

equipment.

Additionally, the project relies on the support and collaboration of local

stakeholders, such as government agencies, NGOs, veterinary clinics, and

volunteers, who can provide resources, expertise, and manpower.

VIII.Expected Outcomes:

a. Reduced stray animal population through spaying/neutering initiatives.

b. Improved health and well-being of stray animals through medical treatments and

vaccinations.

c. Enhanced stray animal management strategies and practices. d. Increased public

awareness and responsible pet ownership.

e. Strengthened partnerships and collaboration among stakeholders.

Sustainability: To ensure the project's long-term sustainability, it is crucial to: a.

Advocate for the implementation of animal welfare policies and regulations at the

local and regional levels. b. Establish community-based volunteer networks to

continue rescue, rehabilitation, and adoption efforts. c. Develop public-private


partnerships to secure ongoing funding and resources for stray animal management

programs. d. Continuously monitor and evaluate the project's impact to identify areas

for improvement and make necessary adjustments.

IX. Conclusion:

The proposed project aims to address the pressing issue of stray animals'

welfare and management in Brgy. Trinidad Calbayog City. By implementing a

comprehensive approach that includes population control, healthcare, management

strategies, education, and partnerships, we can significantly improve the lives of

stray animals, promote responsible pet ownership, and create a more

compassionate and harmonious community. With the support of local stakeholders

and the commitment of volunteers, we can achieve sustainable change and pave the

way for a better future for both animals and humans alike.
