PROJECT PROPOSAL ON THE CONDUCT OF THE

“BSP INITIATED PROJECT ON RECYCLED PLASTIC CONTAINER PLANTERS”
S.Y. 2020 – 2021

I. IDENTIFYING INFORMATION

PROJECT NAME: BSP INITIATED PROJECT ON RECYCLED PLASTIC CONTAINER PLANTERS

PROJECT SITE: GORDON HEIGHTS I ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

PROPONENTS: GODOFREDO F. ECLARINAL, JR.

PROJECT PERIOD: MAY - JUNE 2021

II. RATIONALE

The adoption of a more hygienic mode of packaging beverages, water sachet, and other
products brought plastic packaging to replace the existing cultural packaging methods. This
widespread replacement of the modes of packaging with plastics caused environmental issues
associated with cleaning plastic waste on the general public. The need for a clean environment in
our communities cannot be overemphasized. The current state of sanitation in our sea and rivers
with the plastic waste menace makes it so evident causing poor sanitation.

The proponent takes great pleasure in presenting this project proposal BSP Recycled Plastic
Container Planters. Planting vegetables at home to educate scouts about the importance of plastic
waste management and the benefits of urban gardening, are the prime concerns of this project.

It is the earnest desire of the proponent to conduct and organize this project for the Boy
Scouts to experience the activity and be aware of their responsibilities as member of the BSP,
community, and country, and to be equipped with knowledge and skills needed in their everyday
living.

III. PROJECT PURPOSE

The purposes of this project are:

1. To provide Gordon Heights I Elementary School Boy Scouts an activity on how to plant and
take care for vegetables at home.
2. Teach them ways of reusing or recycling plastic waste materials for urban gardening.
3. Inculcate awareness about the benefits of reusing plastic materials in planting vegetables
to the environment.
4. Appreciate the effort spent in vegetable propagation.
5. Earn while they learn.
IV. PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The BSP Recycled Plastic Container Planters will be conducted from May to June 2021 to
give opportunities to all Scouts of Gordon Heights I Elementary School vegetables planting
activities at home using recycled plastic bottles or containers.

The activity is in partnership with the School EPP Coordinator. Registered Scouts of Gordon
Heights I Elementary School will be given seedlings (Talong, Okra, Sili, Tomato and Petchay) to
plant at home using recycled plastic bottles or containers. The scouts will be oriented on urban
