ACTIVITY 1

1. Who decided that you should enroll at DWCB? Why?

I, myself decided to enroll in this humble institution through the guidance of my parents,
those who support me in my studies, and my teachers during my Senior High School.
2. What do you expect to become as an individual while you stay in DWCB?
I am expecting myself to become someone someday. But, for the meantime, as I stay in this
institution, I expect myself to carry on the core values of Divine Word College of Bangued,
namely: Integrity, Social Responsibility, Excellence, and Evangelization. These core values
will help me to talk, think, and act as a Divinian wherever I find endeavors.
3. In your opinion, what distinguishes DWCB from other schools in the province? And
what makes us unique?
Divine Word College of Bangued the highest school that I always see when I was in my
elementary education. This is my dream school since then. I have been to many schools in the
province, private and public. As I stayed in the institution for two years, I could say that
DWCB has the ability to transform people, has the ability to build dreams, and of course
God-centered institution. DWCB is the only tertiary catholic institution in the province of
Abra and it upholds the province’s rich cultures. Whenever an event is celebrated, Tingguian
and Ilokano Culture will always be part of the program. Having dekalibre Professors is one
thing that makes DWCB unique. Some institution haven’t those kinds of instructors. Having
well ventilated classrooms and necessary laboratories is also one thing that makes DWCB
unique. DWCB has been very productive in a sense that percentage of board passers are in
good standing. DWCB is really the most prestigious school in the province indeed.
4. What makes the administrators, Faculty members and students of DWCB
unique/different from other teachers and educators?
DWCB community is very approachable and smiling. As to the Administrators, during my
second year of stay, I could say that they are not that excellent enough to face dilemmas.
Such that of scholarships and working students, they froze unknowingly by our parents our
scholarship and abruptly asking for payment for the past semester which is not a good
treatment to us. They did not inform us and most especially our parents about it. They did not
consider one’s state of life. As to Faculty members, I don’t have anything to say for they
were all excellent. Excellent in every way of teaching, approaching, and guiding their
students for our betterment. As to students, we cannot void those who have, who can, and
who is students. But generally, it is still manageable to deal with students because of having
respect to each and everyone. I know that every Divinian holds the stated core values of the
institution.
ACTIVITY 2
1. Enumerate the key words or phrases in the mission-vision statement that caught your
attention? Explain why.
Hallmarks of Academic Excellence
Every individual always oversees for the best among the rest. This phrase caught my
attention for I have the vision to be one of the bests in terms of Academic parlance. Indeed,
DWCB is an institution that provides quality education leading to a successful career of the
whole studentry.
Research Advancements
Research is very important in decision-making of one if not all organizations and
institutions. DWCB has been consistently making research with credible administrators.
Research has been a difficult thing to do, but DWCB is always making and doing this
annually for the development of the institution.
Community Engagement
DWCB has been very engaging to its society. Gift-giving to those less-fortunate
people are the center of heart of DWCB students, faculty, and administrators. I admire this
great doing of the institution for they not only focus on the fortunate individuals but to less
fortunate as well.
Charism of the Society of the Divine Word
This caught my attention because SVDs are very close to my heart. Their words have
been gradually changed my personality every time they give homily during community and
departmental masses. They really living the advocacy of the SVD and we as a students are
treasuring their legacy and be one of the witnesses to the Word.
