UNIT 6 - WEEK 5
MATHEMATICS
DIVISION OF FRACTIONS (BY A WHOLE NUMBER) - Students will write on a sticky note what they know about the dividing
fractions.Learners will conduct an interview on the division of fractions.They will watch a video on the division.Learners will use
a bubble map to note down their observations from the video.Learners will practice some examples.They will be put into groups,
create some questions and exchange them with other groups to solve them.
MULTIPLICATION OF FRACTIONS - Students will conduct an interview on the multiplication of fractions.Learners will watch a
video on the multiplication of fractions.They will use a cloud map to note down their observations from the video.Learners will
practice some examples.
DIVISION OF FRACTIONS (BY FRACTIONS) - Students will write on a sticky note what they know about the dividing
fractions.Learners will conduct an interview on the division of fractions by a fraction.They will watch a video and use a bubble
map to note down their observations from the video.Learners will practice some examples.They will be put into groups, create

ADDITION OF MIXED FRACTIONS - Students will have speed math exercise on addition of proper and improper fractions.
They will conduct an interview on the addition of mixed fractions.Learners will watch a video and use a cloud map to note down
their observations from the video.Learners will practice some examples.
LANGUAGE ARTS
THEME - Students will use the THINK-PUZZLE-EXPLORE prompt to share their knowledge on theme of a
drama . They will read a text and watch a video. Learners will use a cloud map to write some facts they got
from the text and video. They will listen to a story and write a theme for it . Students will finally debate on
the motion “The theme of a story or drama is not important”.
INFORMATIVE WRITING (CONCLUSION) - Using the parking lot, learners will write down all they know
about how to write the close or conclusion for an information narrative.They will read an article and watch a
video to find out more on how to write the conclusion of an information narrative. They will use a mind map
to write down the information gathered from the article and video. Students will write the conclusion of the
topic they had selected during the previous lesson.
COMPOUND ADJECTIVES - Learners willl use the KWL chart to write down what they know about
compound adjectives. They will read a text and watch a video on compound adjectives.They will use a
graphic organizer, write the information gathered from the video and article. In groups, students will create
a poster on compound adjectives , write five examples of compound adjectives and share their task with the
class.
UNIT OF INQUIRY
THE UNIQUE WAY OF USING ART TO COMMUNICATE/ TAKE A STAND -Learners will read the first two paragraphs on
the article; art as a form of communication. They will share some artworks (music, painting/drawing, sculpture, dance, etc) that
they’ve identified to carry messages on social issues.Learners will organize the information they got from the article using a
bubble map graphic organizer, in their journals. They will discuss and choose one social issue they think they can create an
artwork on.

IDENTIFYING A SOCIAL ISSUE TO CREATE AN ARTWORK ABOUT -Learners will share a social issue they want to create
an artwork on.They will come up with interview questions with which they will carry out interviews.Learners will share their
findings with the class and analyze them in relation to their chosen artforms. Learners will continue their works towards
creating an artwork on their chosen social issue

PLANNING FOR THE ART PROJECT - Learners will brainstorm and share their ideas on how they think an art work should
be properly planned.They will watch a video .Using a graphic organizer of their choice, learners will organize the information
from the video. In their groups, learners will proceed to plan how they want their final presentation to be

DANCE

1. Students will perform their individual dance solos and their group dances for their summative
assessment.
2. Students in their costume and with their prop, will perform an original and creative solo dance and
group dance as their summative task.

Learners will have their summative assessment and perform tasks that will be used to assess
them.
RESPONDING:
1. Students are supposed to sit quietly and listen to others presesnt.

1. Students should be able to arrange song lyrics appropriately using the song structure (intro, verse, pre-
chorus, chorus, bridge, etc.)
FRENCH
ACTIVITIES
Students will do the following activities as part of their summative assessment:
1. Students will create a book in a form of a short comic (not less than 7 pages).
2. They will then do a short presentation of their work in class.
