Lesson idea implementation:

1) What activity will you plan for your students using this tool and how will it be introduced?
- The activity I will plan for my students is showing them how to create the video and then
show them the video I created, so they can see what is expected of them.
2) How will you make students aware of their goal(s)?
-To make students aware of their goals I will have them clearly stated in the lesson
introduction, as well as reminding them of what they must do throughout the lesson. Students
will also be aware of their goals when watching my video, this will show them how their video
must look.
3) How will students utilize the technology?
- Students will utilize technology by creating their own video, using Adobe Express. And also
researching facts about their chosen historical figure.
4) What will the teacher do? How will feedback be provided to the students?
- As students are doing this activity for the lesson, I will be facilitating the room, offer
assistance to any student who needs it. I will also be giving students feedback as they are
working through this assignment to ensure they are completing their learning goals and
doing the assignment correctly.
5) Finally, how will you conclude the lesson?
- I will conclude this lesson by sharing all of the students’ completed videos with the class.
This is a way for me to see what/how the students did on their video and also a way for
students to learn about the different American historical figures.
Managing student learning: Students will complete this activity in the computer lab, with computer
staff assistance as well as mine. I will use the time-on-task strategy for this lesson, to help students
stay on task throughout this lesson. The first 10 minutes will be for me to explain to the students to
software and show them my video. We will then have a small break. The next 15 minutes students
will research their historical figure. We will then have a small brain break and then students will have
30 minutes to put their video together.
Universal Design for Learning (UDL) Reflection: For this lesson the UDL principle “Multiple Means
of Expression” is used because this lesson is allowing students to express what they know about their
chosen historical figure. The technology tool I have chosen for this lesson is Adobe Express. This
online tool is a very easy tool for young children to use. I think this lesson will be beneficial for
students because they will get more insights on their historical figure as well as apply that knowledge
through a video. I think students will have fun with this lesson because they can chose their American
historical figure, what they want to write about, the pictures they want to use, as well as adding audio
of their voices.
Reflection: I think this activity will positively impact student learning because they are applying what
they know into an engaging video. I look forward to seeing what kind of information my students
write about and the engaging video they make.
