Db Approximation: Gap as function of θ:
Gap(θ) = Gmean * (1 + cos(θ)*Offset/Gmean) Eqn(1)
Rir
At the limiting positions where Dball fills the entire gap
Ror Offset (i.e. the balls at 10:00 and 2:00 on the figure), we have:
Dball=Gmean * (1 + cos(θmax)*Offset/Gmean)

θ Solve for θmax:

θ)
p(

cos(θmax) = (Dball/Gmean-1)*Gmean/Offset
Ga

θmax = arccos{(Dball/Gmean-1)*Gmean/Offset}
Phi = 2*θmax = 2*arccos{(Dball/Gmean-1)*Gmean/Offset}

Solve Phi=2(Z-1)Dball/Dmean for Z to get:

Z = 1 + (Dmean/(2*Dball) * Phi)
where Phi as above

***** Eqn 1 is an approximation based on assumption:

Offset, Gmean << Dor, Dir (not very accurate)
