‘+ ifthe product is applied propery, it will be possible to meet Oko-Tex Standard 100 product class 1! (in direct
Contact with skin) with regard to formaldehyde without afterwashing (less than 75 ppm according to
LAW 112), However, the finished textile must in all cases be tested according to the specifications of
Oko-Tex Standard 100,
Application Technique
Diluting Instructions
REAKNITT EC can be diluted with cold water at any ratio.
Recommendation for Use
Crystalline magnesium chloride (MgCl x 6 HzO) is particularly suitable to be used as a catalyst for
REAKNITT EC. We recommend using 20 - 25% of magnesium chloride cryst. calculated on the quantity of the
resin, but at least 8 gf. The maximum concentration is limited to 30 gf.
‘As altemative to magnesium chloride cryst. we recommend CHT-CATALYST FS which is an already formulated
product. Applying this product the formaldehyde values according to LAW 112 are clearly reduced on the textile
in comparison to the usual catalyst with magnesium chloride. The application concentration is approx.
30 ~ 35% referring fo the quantity of REAKNITT EC. The minimum/maximum quantity is 15/35 g/l. Anyhow,
preliminary tests are recommended to balance between the easy care effects and the strength loss.
Because the degree of whiteness or the colour shade may be impaired, we recommend carrying out pretrials
when working with white and pastel shades.
‘The pH value of the ready finishing liquor should be between 4.0 and 6.5, Alkaline fabrics should be adjusted to a
‘woak acid pH value prior to finishing,

[this process, the fabric is died frst on o stoner. The subsequent curing step is done on special curing
machines (e.g. Hotflue)..
Drying parameter: ‘common industrial conditions (approx. 110-130 °C)
‘Condensation: 150 °C for approx. 3 min
Flash curing process (one step)
Incase of the flash curing process, the fabric is dried and cured on a stenter. To get an acceptable fabric speed,
stenters with 8 ~ 10 chambers are advantageous. Temperature depends among others on the stenter length and
has to be normally fixed deponding on the article. To avold resin migration, the temperature in the introductive
field shouldn't be too high.
Example:
Astfield 110°C
2nd field 130°C
3rd field and all others 160-175 °C
_The fabric speed has fo be adjusted, so thatthe condonsaton temperature onthe [abr ‘obtained for approx.
30.75 sec (depending on resin type and fabric quality) to guarantee a complete crosslinking.

REAKNITT NFO can bo combined with common products used for
‘easy-care finishing. Compatibility should be checked in pretrals if
several products are mixed with each other. A combination with
optical brighteners is possible only if they are sufficiently stable as for
‘example TUBOBLANC HV.
‘The product is very sensitive to frost; temperatures around the freezing
point cause ireversible changes.
REAKNITT NFO can be stored up to 6 months if stored properly in
closed containers.
‘The above given valies are product describing data. Please consult the ‘dolvery speciation’ for binding product
specifications. Further data about product properties, toxicological, ecological data as well as data relevant to safely can be
found in the safely data sheot.
Properties
REAKNITT NFO is applied for easy-care finishes of woven or knitted fabrics made of cellulose fibres and their
mixtures with synthetics. The following effects are achieved with REAKNITT NFO:
+ formaldonyde-tree,
‘+ good wet and dry crease recovery angles,
‘+ excallent easy care properties,
‘+ softer handle compared to resins containing formaldehyde,
‘+ loss loss of strength compared with standard resins,
‘+ resistant to hydrolysis,
‘+ most suitable for post-cure processing,

+ permanent to washing and dry cleaning,
+ very good chlorine fastness,
+ excellent antipiling effects on CV knitwear.
‘When applying on white fabrics and fabrics dyed in pastel shades we recommend carrying out preliminary tosts,
‘because of the possible reduction of the whiteness degree or the colour shade.
Application technique
Diluting instructions
REAKNITT NFO can be diluted with cold water at any rato
Recommendation for Use
REAKNITT NFO is usually applied by padding at room temperature, To obtain the best possible finishing effects,
‘we recommend adjusting the pH value of the treatment liquor at approx. 4.0.

‘As catalyst for curing REAKNITT NFO we recommend first ofall CHT-CATALYST ODL. With application of eryst.

printing auxiliaries and preparation auxiliaries not eliminated by rinsing.

Maximum quantity which should not be exceeded:
In case of an application according to instructions of CHT-CATALYST ODL there is no formation of odour on the
contrary to the application of cryst. magnesium chloride according to our experiences.
Because of increased loss of tensile strength CHT-CATALYST ODL is not recommended for the catalysis of
‘erosslinking agents spliting off formaldehyde (standard DMDHEU types)!
Cryst, magnesium chloride
In case of application of cryst. magnesium chloride as catalyst we recommend an application quantity of 10%
rolated to tho crosslinking agent quantity. Sometimes occurring odour problems cannot be completely excluded
as already mentioned.
