My thoughts on the discrepancies between Breath of the wild and Tears of the kingdom.

Hey there, fellow Zelda fans! Today I want to talk about something that has been bothering me for a
while: the inconsistencies and differences between Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom. As
you know, these two games are set in the same world, but with a 100-year gap between them. In
Breath of the Wild, we see a ruined Hyrule that has been ravaged by Calamity Ganon and his
corrupted machines. In Tears of the Kingdom, we see a restored Hyrule that has been rebuilt by the
efforts of Link, Zelda, and their allies. But what happened to the Sheikah tech and the divine beasts
in the meantime?

You see, in Breath of the Wild, we learn that the Sheikah were an ancient civilization that developed
advanced technology to aid the royal family and the champions in their fight against Ganon. They
created the Sheikah Slate, the Shrines, the Towers, and most importantly, the four divine beasts: Vah
Ruta, Vah Medoh, Vah Rudania, and Vah Naboris. These giant mechanical animals were piloted by
four chosen warriors: Mipha, Revali, Daruk, and Urbosa. Together with Link and Zelda, they
formed the team that was supposed to seal Ganon away.

However, things went horribly wrong when Ganon returned and took control of the Sheikah tech,
turning it against its creators. The divine beasts and the Guardians became his weapons of mass
destruction, killing most of the Hylians and destroying their settlements. The champions were slain
in their divine beasts, and Link was gravely wounded while protecting Zelda. Zelda managed to use
her awakened power to seal Ganon inside Hyrule Castle, but at a great cost: she had to remain there
for 100 years, while Link was put into a healing sleep in the Shrine of Resurrection.

In Tears of the Kingdom, we see what happens after Link wakes up and defeats Ganon with Zelda's
help. They decide to rebuild Hyrule together, starting with restoring the divine beasts and freeing
the spirits of the champions. They also reconnect with the surviving members of the different races:
the Zoras, the Rito, the Gorons, and the Gerudo. They learn that some of them have been keeping
secrets from them, such as the existence of a hidden Zora princess and a mysterious Rito sage. They
also face new threats, such as a rogue faction of Yiga Clan members who worship Ganon and a
mysterious cult that worships an ancient evil.

But here's where things get weird: where is all the Sheikah tech? In Breath of the Wild, we see that
there are hundreds of Shrines scattered across Hyrule, each containing a puzzle or a challenge that
rewards Link with a Spirit Orb. We also see that there are four Towers in each region that activate
when Link approaches them, revealing a map of the area and allowing him to fast travel. And of
course, there is the Sheikah Slate itself: a multipurpose device that allows Link to access his
inventory, take pictures, scan enemies, use runes (such as bombs, stasis, magnesis, and cryonis), and
even summon his horse.

But in Tears of the Kingdom, we don't see any of these things. There are no Shrines, no Towers, no
Sheikah Slate. The only Sheikah tech we see are the divine beasts themselves (and even then, they
look different from how they did in Breath of the Wild). How is this possible? How did all this
technology disappear in 100 years? Did someone destroy it? Did it malfunction? Did it run out of
power? Did it get stolen? Did it get buried? Did it get lost? Did it get forgotten?

There are so many questions that need answers. And I'm not even going to mention how different
some of the characters look in Tears of the Kingdom compared to Breath of the Wild (looking at
you, Sidon). I hope that Nintendo will explain these inconsistencies and differences in future games
or DLCs. Until then, I'll keep playing both games and enjoying them for what they are: amazing
adventures in a beautiful world.
What do you think? Do you have any theories or explanations for these discrepancies? Let me
know.

and another thing….

I want to point out some inconsistencies and differences between the two games that might make
you scratch your head.

First of all, what happened to the Sheikah tech and the Divine Beasts? In Breath of the Wild, we
learned that these ancient machines were used by the champions to fight against Calamity Ganon
100 years ago. They were also essential for Link to access the shrines and unlock his memories. But
in Tears of the Kingdom, they seem to have disappeared or become inactive. Why is that? Did they
run out of power? Did they get corrupted by Ganon's malice? Did someone sabotage them? Or did
the developers just forget about them?

Secondly, how do you explain some of the story anomalies that occur in Tears of the Kingdom? For
example, how does Bolson react when he meets Link again? In Breath of the Wild, he was a
friendly and eccentric carpenter who helped Link build his house in Hateno Village. He also had a
crush on Link and asked him to marry him as a joke. But in Tears of the Kingdom, he acts like he
doesn't know Link at all and treats him with hostility. He also seems to have a new wife and a baby.
How did that happen? Did he lose his memory? Did he change his personality? Did he get replaced
by an impostor? Or did the writers just ignore his previous characterization?

These are just some of the questions that I have after playing Tears of the Kingdom. Don't get me
wrong, I still enjoyed the game and its new features, such as the ability to fly with a paraglider and
explore underwater dungeons. But I can't help but feel that there are some gaps and contradictions
in the story that need to be addressed. Maybe there will be some DLCs or patches that will explain
them. Or maybe we'll just have to accept them as part of the Zelda lore.

What do you think? Do you have any other inconsistencies or differences that you noticed between
Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom? Let me know in the comments below.

Until next time.
