My ELAR grade 4- Class Rules
1. Raise your hand whenever you have something to say (Rationale: so that everyone can learn in a mutually respectful, active speaking/listening environment) 2. Please don’t interrupt the teacher or talk to others during instruction (Rationale: provides all students with an equal learning opportunity/ everyone can hear the valuable teaching) 3. Be kind and share with classmates (Rationale: be generous and share. You may need another student to share with you someday if you forgot your supplies) 4. Follow directions/ ask questions (Rationale: increases our understanding and rate of success if we actively participate) 5. Always try your best (Rationale: perfectionism should never be the goal because it is unrealistic/ unattainable. Making mistakes is a normal part of life/ no one has all the answers) Consequences for noncompliance: a. A nonverbal warning (such as a tap on the shoulder) b. Verbal Warning c. Missed recess d. Parent/ Guardian contact e. Sent to the office Rewards: Perk for the whole classroom such as 15 mins of free time on your I-pad on Fridays (for continued effort) Special recognition in front of class A “brag” note sent home Homework pass
