Right Livelihood: Making a living in a way that is honest and
does not harm others.
Right Effort: Making an effort to develop good qualities.
Right Mindfulness: Being sensitive to other’s feelings.
Right Concentration: Meditation.
BUDDHISM
Overall, Buddhism is a religion focused on the
development of wisdom, compassion, and inner
peace, with the ultimate goal being liberation from
suffering and the attainment of enlightenment.

In literature, Buddhism has had an impact on Indian


epics and poetry. The Jataka tales, for example, are a
collection of stories that tell of the Buddha's previous
lives as animals, humans, and gods. These tales have
been a rich source of inspiration for Indian writers and
storytellers.
BUDDHISM
Buddhism introduced a unique worldview and set of
teachings that challenged prevailing social norms and
religious beliefs. The Buddha's emphasis on the
universality of suffering, compassion for all beings,
and the importance of individual responsibility for
one's actions continue to inspire people around the
world.

Blood sacrifices; collective and individual festivals (utsava).

Highly ritualized is also the giving of a gift (dāna).

Sikhs - 2% of Indian population
Men - 'pagadis' or turbans, beards and long hair.

The religion believed in one God with no form
like Islam and Karma and reincarnation like
Hinduism.

The holy worship places for Sikhs are known as
Gurdwaras.
Hari Mandir or the 'Golden Temple' - The holiest
of all Gurdwaras in India.
The most common and distinct feature of the
religion is the common kitchen called 'Langar'
Guru Nanak was the first Guru of Sikhism and
was followed by nine more Gurus.

The teachings of the nine of them are included
in Guru Granth Sahib.
The last of all Gurus was Guru Gobind Singh,
who declared this Holy book to be the Guru of
the Sikhs.
It is written in Gurumukhi script.
