CHAPTER 1
INTRODUCTION
Grade 9 students are at a crucial part of their life where they can fully understand the happenings around
them, at their house or maybe in public. As they navigate their way through this challenging time, they
often experience problems in their family life. Many students came from broken families or have a parents
who’s going to divorce , or having a financial problems which can lead with a feelings of anger and
questioning their selves why they are suffering with this kind of situation. The constant constants struggles
and fighting between parents can also cause significant stress and anxiety, which affects the overall well-
being and academic performance of the students.
We chose this topic to give attention and solutions to these problems because most people are not given
the freedom to explain their feelings because most people will say that it's all just polite and just ignore the
feelings of people who experience this kind of this problems for short some people are invalidating
someone’s feelings. The biggest problem in the Philippines that the researchers see is the lack of
involvement between the parents and their children. Many of the Filipino kids go to the wrong path
because their parents cant give the attention that their child needed.
Family problems such as divorce, domestic violence and financial hardship can effects the grade 9 students
from Flora A. Ylagan Highschool in multiple ways. Some of the rspondents are experiencing a divorced
parents are more likely to feel anxiety, depression, and struggles to focus in their studies. It can also cause
academic interference and distrupt the natural developmental process of teenagers. Domestic violence is
another factor that can heavily impact young teenagers causing of fear, trauma, anxiety, and suicidal
tendencies. Financial instability among families can lead to stress and also leads to drop out of school
because they can’t support their studies and only have exact amount for their daily expenses such as food.
Statement of the problem:

Significance of the study:

2. How grade 9 students can deal with this kind of situation with a very young age.
3. How they can handle to avoid the feeling of Sadness, anger and depression they might feel in the
situation they have right now.
Purpose of the study:
1. This research aims for identifying the family problems among the grade 9 students.
2. This study showed that the most important prominent family problem experience by grade 9 students
Are lack of communication between their parents and them and financial hardships.
3. The results also showed that there are no differences in the family issues they often experiencing.
Scope and Delimitation:
Out of 10 section in Flora A. Ylagan H.S, 10 respondents in each sections or in equal to 100 respondents
were needed as sample of conducting the survey. This study focuses on identifying the different kinds of
problems that the grade 9 students were experiencing and find a solution for their problems. This study
limits only in the grade 9 students, each respondents are given a questionnaire to answer. Their answers
were kept confidential and for research purposes only.
ABSTRACT
Many students suffer form deep family problems. Family problem is one of the most common problems
students encounter. It causes trauma, depression, and anxiety to the students. The possible root of this
problem can be parenting issues, gambling addiction, financial problems, separating or divorce. We would
like to know the cause and effects of this problem to the students who are suffering from it, so we can be
aware on how to handle this difficult problem as a student.
