Foreword
This manual is compiled to instruct KD general distributor to carry on warranty business, grasp
Chery KD warranty policy fully and familiar with claim process, The main contents of the manual
include: Chery KD warranty policy, claim process, claim matters that need attention and correlative

Special Statements
The following conditions are out of the scope of Chery warranty:
1. The KD general distributor has not signed after-sale service agreement with Chery;
2. The claim is raised from KD Plant or distributors who purchased parts or components made
locally;

3. After the sale of the vehicle, the KD general distributor has not provided detailed customer
records and information immediately;
4. In circumstances such as fail to follow the regulations in the Maintenance Manual to use and
maintain the vehicle, absence of the Maintenance Manual, or modifications to the function and
data of the odometer;
5. The owner has repaired or maintained the vehicle by her/himself or by garages other than the
franchised distributors of Chery.
6. During repairing, not use genuine parts of Chery or parts approved by Chery
7. The vehicle has been installed with spare parts unrecognized by Chery (e.g. electrical) and the
vehicle has been refitted (e.g. circuits), with damages caused thereby.
8. Damages caused by speeding-drive in break-in period, overload traction and forced-drive
without stop when abnormal situations have been alarmed.
9. Damages of the vehicle caused by special natural phenomena (hailstone, flood, etc.), air
pollution, chemical corrosion and blocks on roads.
10. The vehicle has been used in special conditions, such as competitions, sports and entertainments,
military operations, etc.
11. The vehicle has undergone some serious accident.
12. The true facts have been hidden, or the original status of the damaged parts has been destroyed
on purpose.
13. Damages or losses of parts caused by mal-operations during processes of transportation,
storage and hand-over;
14. Maintenance expenses caused by normal wear and tear of wearing parts (such as friction
linings, wiper blades, belts, spark plugs, tires, etc.); Expenses caused by normal examinations
and adjustments (such as checking and adjusting the idle speed, oil consumption, CO value,
ECU, lamplights, and four-wheel alignment, as well as dynamic balance of tires) and
maintenance (such as regular maintenance, cleanup of engine deposits, etc.).
15. Parts which are required compulsively to be replaced in regular maintenance;
16. Lubricating oils, brake fluid, coolant, cleaning fluid and refrigerants wasted in normal use.

Rights and Obligations

1、Chery

1.Entitled to review and final decision on warranty judgement.


2.Entitled to require general distributors to provide complete and authentic information regarding
warranty claims. In case of information not meet Chery requirements, Chery is entitled to
refuse the claim application completely or partially.
3.Entitled to check and assess the claim operation for overseas distributors.
4.Chery offers limited quality warranty coverage for overseas KD vehicles, Chery is not
responsible for quality warranty of parts made locally and indirect warranty claim caused
hereby.
5.Entitled with the ownership of claimed parts, and have the right to demand Chery distributors to
return the claimed parts within the specified term.
6.Verify and settle up the claim documents submitted by KD general distributor.
7.Check the claim account with KD distributor.
8.Render general distributors with training supports.
9.Render general distributors with supports on warranty claim operations.

2、KD general distributor

1.Entitled to submit the claim application to Chery.


2.Entitled to check the claim account with Chery.
3.Entitled to feedback rationalization proposal to Chery.
4.Implementation of quality warranty claims from users strictly in accordance with requirements
of Chery warranty policy.
5.Without the permission of Chery, distributors can‘t disclose the relevant information to any
third party.
6.Comply with Chery warranty terms and claim procedure, and adopt the valid measures as
following:
a. Check drive license and service manual, examining failure parts and damaged parts, make
accurately judgment and record hereof.
b. Chery will accept the claim in case of the claim meet the requirement of quality warranty
policies, KD distributor should provide warranty service for customer and pay for the
customer in advance。
c. In case of not compliance with the quality warranty policies, KD distributor should make
explanation to the customer with sufficient reasons.
7.Avoid direct claims to Chery from end users.
8.Report to Chery newly developed customers on monthly basis.
9.Keep records of replacement parts which are covered by Chery warranty after their installment
and issue invoice thereof.
10.Must purchase genuine parts of Chery or parts approved by Chery and maintain a reasonable
and sufficient stock based on car parc in local market.
11.Protect Chery’s benefits and responsible for chery.
12.Assume corresponding responsibilities and expenses caused by mal-operation itself.
13.Cooperate with Chery on claim operation inspection and evaluation.
14.Participate the training organized by Chery
15.Only the claim handler is entitled to handle claims.
16.So long as the claim handlers is appointed; their position shall be kept stable without arbitrary
changes.
3、KD Plant
1.Be responsible for manufacturing and assembling qualified products that are in compliance with
quality requirements of Chery.
2.Be responsible for assume direct and indirect claim due to assembly.
3.Be responsible for the claim of parts which are made locally and indirect claim caused by the
said parts.

About Claim Handler


1、Qualifications of Claim Handler
1.Cordiality, possess good professional ethics.
2.The person shall understand English and can communicate in English for basic communication.
3.The person shall have work experiences over three years in automobiles repairing, and be capable
of checking and determining the failures of the automobiles.
4.The person shall know how to use computer and be good at the software such as word, excel, etc.
5.The person shall be fair-minded, pursue work efficiency and quality, implement warranty terms
and claim procedure strictly.
6.The person shall be familiar with Chery claim policy and claim operation process. The person can
operate claim business separately.
2、Responsibilities of Claim Handler
1.Deal with claims, type the claim information into computer in time.
2.Send feedbacks on claims (in case of out-of-purview) in time.
3.Send monthly claim documents to Chery on time.

4.Perform warranty strictly according to Chery warranty policy.


5.Timely communication and exchange of claim-related information with Chery.
6.Explain to the customers Warrant Policy of Chery and instruct them in how to repair, maintain and
use Chery automotive products.
7.Management and preservation of parts for which claim is made.
3、Work Requirements
1.Familiar with relevant vehicle guarantee operation and master Chery guarantee work procedure.
2.By strictly following the requirements of the technical norms, claim handler shall examine, test
and analyze the claimed vehicles at the maintenance spot, judge and determine the cause of
failures effectively, and fill in the “Claim Registration Card” correctly with detailed and precise
description of failures.
3.Check and confirm the claim document submitted by dealers.
4.In case of those claims excess the purview of claim handler, claim handler shall inform After-Sales
Service Department of Chery International in twenty-four (24) hours.
5.Provide inquiry service for vehicle use, warranty and maintenance technology.
6.Collect quality problems of high frequency that happened during maintenance and feedback to
Chery.
7.Manage and preserve the claimed parts and record related destroyed information.
8.Instruct and supervise the dealer’s claim work.
9.Deal with the customer’s complaint in time.
10.Cooperate with Chery to perform relevant claim request.
11.Strictly keep important claim information in confidential, not permit to leak to the third party at
random.
12.Master the good communication skill, cooperate with Chery to perform relevant claim request.
13.Protect Chery’s benefit and, improve customer’s satisfaction.

After-sales Warranty Policy of KD Vehicle

1、Terms
KD factory (hereinafter referred to as factory): a company who is authorized by Chery to
purchase knocked down parts from Chery or its agent and assemble or manufacture with the
said parts into finished vehicles in specified country or region.
CKD: completely knocked down parts
SKD: semi-knocked down parts
KD general distributor (hereinafter referred to as general distributor): a company who is
responsible for sales and service for vehicles manufactured by KD plants.
Service station: service network established by KD general distributors in specified country or
region.
SUB-CKD: Knock down the CKD. For example: knock down the chair into foam、skeleton、jacket
and relevant parts etc.
2、Scope
Applicable for all finished vehicles manufactured by Chery overseas CKD, SKD plants.
3、Definitions
1.Non commercial vehicle means vehicles for such use as official affairs, business and family.
2.Commercial vehicle means vehicles for such profit earning use as taxi, travel, rental etc.
3.Term of warranty:
3.1No matter for completely built up car (CBU) or spare parts, the term of warranty shall be based
on specified year or mileage, whichever comes first.
3.2Warranty is in effect from the date of sales invoice; in case that the purpose of using a vehicle is
changed during the term of warranty, there shall be no change to its warranty year or mileage.

3.3When T(sales date) > T(production date)+6 months, term of warranty start with T(production
date)+6 months.
3.4 When T(sales date) ≤ T(production date)+6 months, term of warranty start with T(sales date).
4、After-sales Warranty Principle of KD vehicles
In the event of relevant contract (the contract involves the terms of warranty and signed by President
of Chery) have regulate the terms of warranty for CBU clearly, the contract shall prevail; In the
event of the contract haven’t stipulate the terms of warranty, the terms warranty hereinafter shall
prevail.
1.Term of Warranty for CBU
1.1 Term of Warranty
CBU warranty shall be applicable to all vehicles in warranty; the following is the term of warranty.

Claim Process

1、The customer shall raise claim request to the distributor.


2、The distributor shall check and judge the vehicle of the customer in terms of the warranty policies
of Chery, and then make judgment conclusion and corresponding treatment:
1). If in compliance with the warranty policies, the distributor shall duly accept the claim request
of the customer in time. If not in compliance with the warranty policies, the distributor shall make
explanation to the customer with the reasons for refusal of claim;
2). Purview of claim disposal of the distributor (material prices-FOB ShangHai for single part)

For the claim within the purview of claim disposal of the distributor, the distributor shall settle
it by itself in terms of the warranty policies;
For the claim beyond the purview of claim disposal of the distributor, the distributor shall fill in
the KD Warranty Claim, and then transfer it in the form of E-mail to After-sales Service
Department of Chery for approval. The claim can only be settled until the written approval has

been received.
Note: KD Warranty Claim shall be truly filled as required by Chery in a serious and
standardized manner and filed, with clear and detailed description of fault symptom and
accurate analysis of inspection results.
3、The claim handler of the distributor shall duly import the information of the vehicle for which the
claim has been inputted into computer, take photos for the parts claimed, print Claim
Registration Cards KD.(Claim Registration Cards KD must be filled in English ) This card
shall be hanged (If the Quality Warranty Application Form for KD is available), then attach it
onto the claimed parts.
4、Before 5th of the current month, the general distributor shall review all documents of claims raised
by its service stations in the previous month (1st~31th), and send such documents as
“Monthly After-Sales Claim Summary Sheet for KD Vehicles”, “Claim Registration Card for
KD Vehicles” (English version), photos of claimed parts, and “KD Warranty Claim” if there’s
any to warranty@mychery.com to apply for handling claims which occurred in the previous
month. For any claims occurred in the previous month but not raised to Chery before 5th of the
current month, Chery will not accept except for special cases. The general distributor shall
categorize and bind all claim related documents of the previous month and store the claimed
parts in group by category. Claim documents and electronic files shall be kept for 3 years for
the purpose of random inspection by Chery.
5 、 After receiving claim documents from the general distributor, in case of the documents meet
Chery relevant requirements, Chery will review the documents according to work flow; in case
of the documents fail to meet Chery requirements, Chery will inform the distributor to revise
the documents in specified time. In case of the documents are still unqualified, Chery will
reject the claim application. The general distributor only has one chance to revise the claim
documents.
6 、 Claim settlement: Chery make the settlement of qualified claim documents. After settlement,
Chery sends “Claim Settlement List” to inform the general distributor by E-mail for
confirmation. In case of no doubts from the general distributor, Chery open Proforma Invoice
(It should includes: the general distributor’s seal and claim handler’s signature, if the PI lacks
anyone of them, it will be treated as invalidated one) valued at the amount claimed and sent the
Invoice to Chery by E-mail; in case of any doubts, the general distributor shall contact with
After-sales Service Department of Chery within 5 working days. After 5 working days, After-
sales Service Department of Chery will consider the distributor has no objection.
7 、 Chery will confirm the PI, If it does not meet Chery’s requirements, Chery will inform the
distributor to issue the correct PI and feedback to Chery within 3 working days.
8、Chery will carry out the claim settlement according to the work flow, If the general distributor
have account in Chery, the claim settlement fund will be transferred directly; If the general
distributor have not account in Chery, the claim settlement fund will be transferred to his local
account.

PDI claim process


KD general distributor should finish the PDI inspection within 10 working days after received the
new vehicle.
KD general distributor should raise the claim to shipping company or insurance company, in case
of vehicle’s fault is caused by transportation.
KD general distributor should raise the claim to KD plant, if the fault is caused by assembly.
KD general distributor should raise the claim to Chery, if the quality problem is caused by KD
parts supplied by Chery.

Claim Expenses standard

Because different countries have different local labor charge lever and custom rate, so Chery will
offer special labor charge standard and administration fee rate for different distributor to adapt the
local status.
Note:
1. KD general distributor should reserve $5000 claim fund as deposit.
2. In view of exchange rate fluctuation causing unreasonable claim settlement , Chery adopt the
exchange rate occuring four months ago .

How to fill proforma invoice:


Requirements on issuing the Proforma Invoice are expressively stated hereby to avoid
mistakes:
a.The writing shall be clear
b.No correction is permitted
c.All items shall be complete
d.The invoice shall be consistent with the objects, and the invoice amount shall be

1) KD general distributor name: fill the name of company as per truth.
2) Distributor code: coded by Chery.
3) Country: Region where the KD general distributor is located, i.e. nationality.
4) City: city where the KD general distributor is located.
5) Number of the application form: coding rule is year, month, and serial number of 3
digits.
6) Organization of the customer: name of the owner’s company.
7) Name of Customer: true name of the customer.
8) Contact phone: contact phone of the customer.
9) Address: the address of the place where the customer lives or the company is
located.
10) E-mail: e-mail address of the customer.
11) Chassis No.: Fill in the complete Chassis No.
12) Engine No.: Fill in the complete Engine No.
13) Transmission No.: It can be left blank if no maintenance or replacement of
transmission is involved.
14) Purchase Date: 8 digitals: 4 digits for year, and 2 digits each for month and day.

15) Road Mileage: the actual mileage of the vehicle when being maintained. For
vehicles with replacement odometers, the road mileage shall be calculated
accumulatively. The mileage reads can be 10 digitals after the decimal.
16) Claim type: Commercial vehicle, Non-commercial vehicle.
17) Vehicle model: Fill in completely, e.g. SQR7160ET, SQR7240AT, etc.
18) Failure Description: This information must be filled in detail. The owner shall
describe the problem and the claim handler fills.
19)Result of inspection and analysis: Accurate and true description of troubleshooting
and result, including the status of the parts damaged, causes to the damages and
the consequences resulted, and the explanation of troubleshooting Professional
terms shall be adopted in description.
20) Data, graphics and photos: Attach relevant data, picture or photos corresponding
to the actual analysis.

1) Name of the customer: name of an individual or a company who purchases car.
2) Address and ZIP: of the place where the individual lives or the company locates.
3) Contact person: user’s name.
4) Telephone: user’s contact phone number.

5) Model: Fill in the model number of the vehicle completely, such as SQR7160ET,
SQR7240AT, etc., which directly determine the number of working hours claimed
and the term of warranty of CBU.
6) Chassis No.: Fill in the complete Chassis No. (very important and compulsorily
filled)
7) Engine No.: Fill in the complete Engine No. (very important and compulsorily
filled)
8) Transmission No.: Fill according to the actual situation (omit this if not involve
repair or replacement of transmission).
9) Manufacture date: 8 digitals; 4 digits for year, and 2 digits each for month and day.
For example: May 19th, 2006, shall be filled as 2006.05.19. (compulsorily
filled )
10) Date of purchase: 8 digitals; 4 digits for year, and 2 digits each for month and day.

11) Date of repair: 8 digitals; 4 digits for year, and 2 digits each for month and day.
For example: May 19th, 2006, shall be filled as 2006.05.19. (compulsorily
filled )
12) Drive Mileage: The actual mileage of the vehicle when undergoing maintenance.
Vehicles having their odometers replaced shall be calculated accumulatively. The
mileage can be rounded to 10 digits after the decimal.
13) Sort of claim: T represents vehicles for commercial use; F represents vehicles for
non-commercial use.
14) Failure description: This is for the owner to describe the problem and needs the
signature of the owner. (compulsorily filled in detail)
15) Approval result: It shall be filled out in detail. The procedures and results of
removing the problem shall be filled accurately based on the facts. Professional
terms shall be adopted when describing the status, causes, results and means of
removing the problem of the failure parts. For two or more failures without
relations, the distributor shall describe different failures in different forms, that
is, one piece of Claim Registration Card shall not apply for two claims of
different failures.
16) KD general distributor No.: Fill as per the actual situation. This number is
regulated uniformly by Chery.
17) Number of the application form: 10 digitals in total: Year, Month (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6
digits); Serial No. (7, 8, 9, 10 digits). For example, to the claims occurred in May
2005, the first Claim Application No. shall be 2004050001; the number of the
application form of every “Claim Registration Card for KD Vehicles” of each
KD general distributor is unique.
18 ) Damage No: Made up by four digitals, the first two is for the code number of
main group, and the last two is for the number of parts. For details, please refer

to the “Labor Time Quota”. When a same failure involves several parts damaged,
the code of main damaged part shall be filled as Damaged Parts Code, without
filling the code of the rest parts. When several different failures are to be repaired
on the same vehicle, there shall be one “Claim Registration Card for KD”
prepared for each maintenance.
19 ) Manufacturer code: It is the Manufacturer Code of damaged parts. Normally,
each damage No. is marked on the part, such as 1AD, 3BA etc. If the part does
not have manufacturer code, skip this.
20 ) Station No.: Work station No. shall be recorded pursuant to the “Labor Time
Quota”. In case the work station is not recorded in the “Labor Time Quota”, it
can be typed 99999999 in this column while entering the name of work station
and the number of working hours. The Working Hours can be left blank. A same
problem may require several positions, and the subtotal amount is the sum of
labor cost.
21)Material No.: Fill in the Part No. of the replacement part, including main claimed
material and accessorial claimed material; among which the Part No. of the main
claimed material shall be recorded in the first line. More pieces of Claim
Registration Card for KD can be added if one piece is not enough. Tie the
relevant Claim Registration Card for KD to the main claimed material when
tying and attach the third copy of the Claim Registration Card for KD.
22 ) Service Station Seal: Each piece of Claim Registration Card for KD shall be
sealed with the seal of the franchised service station of Chery in the appointed
place, otherwise, the case will be considered as invalid.
23)Claim Handler: Fill in the name of the claim handler recognized by Chery.

How to take photos QCZ05/008/002-6


The requirements for claimed part photos, More than two photos shall be provided by
distributors, one of which will be used to confirm whether the parts are originally
installed by Chery or allowed to be installed, the other photo will be used for the
evidence for judgment of malfunction.
1、 Confirm whether the malfunction parts are originally installed by
Chery or allowed to be installed.
1.1 The distributor should provide the photos with the completely identified number
and manufacturer code, as follows:

1.2 If the parts number and manufacturer code can not be found on the parts, The
distributor can also confirm by the barcode whether the malfunction parts are
originally installed by Chery or allowed to be installed.

1.3 For the convenience of identification, the distributor should provide the clear
photos of malfunction parts in case of unidentifiable parts number and
manufacturer code after a period of usage (such as the clutch disc).

2、 Identification and phenomenon related to failure photos:

In principle, in the case of the parts marked with the part number, manufacturer code,
bar code but the distributor does not provide relevant photos, Chery reserve the right
to reject the claims.
