CHAPTER 1: The Company Background
One of the most well-known names in the locking sector
as well as one of the longest-running multinational
brands in existence is Yale. The development of Yale and
the locking sector as a whole may be attributed primarily
to important inventions that have shaped Yale's legacy. As
Linus Yale Sr., developed his initial lock innovation, Yale
began in a modest lock shop in the United States. The Yale
identity is based on heritage, trust, and knowledge,
producing long-lasting, excellent
products. In 1847, Linus Yale Sr.,
the company's founding father, created the renowned
pin tumbler mechanism, which is now widely employed
in the security sector and gave rise to the brand name
Yale, a worldwide innovator in security. In 1850, Linus
Yale Jr. followed his father in
business. He improved and
patented his father's pin tumbler
cylinder lock and rose to the
status of the era's leading locking authority. With the
release of Yale Jr.'s Monitor Bank Lock in 1862, bank
locks transitioned from key locks to dial or combination
locks. Additionally, Yale Jr. had experimented on a lock
that was centered on a mechanism used for the first time
by the ancient Egyptians almost 4,000 years ago. Yale's most significant
invention, the Yale cylinder lock, was eventually successful, earning him
patents in 1861 and 1865. Linus Yale Jr.'s several ground-breaking ideas
completely changed the security lock industry. Using Yale Jr.'s patents, his
father's well-known credibility, and their own natural aptitude, Yale Jr. and his
partner Henry Towne established the Yale & Towne corporation in
Stanford, Connecticut, in 1868. Over 12,000 people were employed by the
company when it first began to grow internationally in the early 20th century.
Yale locks have gained international recognition over the 20th century because
of decisions, mergers, and partnerships with companies like Guli, Chubb Locks,
Parkes, and C E Marshall. The worldwide top lock group, the ASSA ABLOY
Group, acquired Yale in August 2000.

2
CHAPTER 2: The Company Logo

Yale’s Logo

In the twentieth century, Yale's logo was based

on the sun, a symbol of warmth and positivity. It
focuses on fear and negative feelings associated
with security. The brand also had to tie in with
the company’s “legacy’ which the brand's
signature yellow, but with a higher contrast
around the edge to emphasize the shape of a sun.

The sun is also universally recognized, which is

advantageous for a brand that must operate in 125 countries. It is also constantly
present. "Even when it rains, you know the sun is always there," Wendt states,
tying to the brand's ideas of reliability (Wong, 2020).

The word Yale was written in a bold black font with all capital letters on a yellow
background. It was derived from the surname of Linus Yale Jr., who invented the
cylinder lock in 1848 and the pin tumbler lock in 1868.

How the logo inspired by the Sun

Wendt contends that the sun's

representation gives the identity
additional dimension. "Where there is
light, there is shadow," (Wong, 2020)
is a truism. When the logo is printed
on a piece of artwork, it acts like the
sun and casts shadows on other
images. The shadows formed by the
remote controls in the image match
the position of the logo and are created
using colors from the palette.

CHAPTER 2.1: Brand Name and Logo

The Product’s Brand Name and Logo Design

The brand name "SecureTech”

aims to convey the strength and
durability of the product as it offers
layers of protection to ensure
everyone's bike safety for its
targeted market in maintaining
security.

The brand name can be derived from two English words:

Secure - meaning to provide a greater level of protection that increases the

capability to resist manipulation and intrusion.

High-tech - meaning with technology that is difficult or impossible to access.

The word secure comes from the Latin words se- (without) and cure (care), as
explained by Andreas (2022), and the word sicuro or securo originates from the
same word in Italian. It can be used as a noun that means safety or theft protection.
Furthermore, it can be used as an uncountable noun which means a sense of
security and freedom from worry. Moreover, it can be used as an adjective that
means free from danger or risk and fear or doubt, easy in mind.

The Greek words "techne" and "logos" are the source of the word technology
(Technology, n.d.). Techne means art, skill, craft, or the way, manner, or means
by which a thing is gained, while Logos means word, the utterance by which
inward thought is expressed a saying, or an expression. It can be used as an
adjective to describe the equipment used or the results of the use of high
technology or extremely advanced technology. Moreover, it can be used as a noun
to refer to scientific technology involving the creation or application of
sophisticated devices, particularly in the fields of electronics and computers.

These combined words are presented to express the real strength of the product
and to the targeted market as well as in terms of security by ensuring everyone's
bike is safe, secured, and protected from theft.

4
Elements of the Brand Logo

COLOR

Blue and Gray represent the brand logo's

principal colors. According to Digital
Sypnosis (2019), blue represents
dependability, trustworthiness, and
security. It helps to promote feelings of
comfortable tranquility which is peace and
calm. In addition, it symbolizes
innovation, flexibility, and visibility, all of
which are advantageous to a large global
technology firm.

Lastly, the gray which is a neutral color that represents compromise and control
and is associated with luxury, simplicity, depth, and sophistication. It is as solid
as a rock, making it extremely stable, dependable, and calming. Moreover,
relating to blue has a relaxing and soothing presence and can be beneficial in
difficult life situations (Olesen, 2022).

FONT STYLE

The brand's logo is written in a

technical typeface with edgy, thick

lines and rounded corners to represent a powerful high technology profile. Jaturat
SemiBold is utilized to draw the audience's attention while also providing them
with the readability and flexibility to observe the brand logo.

SYMBOL

A key-like form is used to describe

the overall symbol. Given that the
company's product is high tech, the

shape of a key is also high tech to represent the advancement in security and
technology. The simplicity of the symbol promotes authority and security, which
can also help people to remember the brand's logo.

5
Brand Tagline

“A Surety for your Security.”

The brand's tagline expresses assurance, commitment, and reliability. Offering a

reliable brand is not only an option; it is a must for everyone. By guaranteeing
that the product will work at its greatest potential and dominance, our brand aims
to emphasize the security of customers who wish to keep their property or items
secure.

The slogan of the company is also related to its reputation and quality. An
efficient product supported by advanced technology encourages persistent
customer loyalty, boosting leads and establishes a benchmark for customer
satisfaction.

Application of Brand Logo

Our brand logo is debossed on the right front bottom part of the metal to guarantee
that the logo will be visible, permanent, and always keep its shape. Debossing
logo is to create indentations into metal by scraping down the front metal with
the brand name "SecureTech". This debossed logo is perfect for consumer who
wants durability of the logo and finished product look elegant and sophisticated.

Content of the Product

1. Biometric Identification

According to Arpel (2016) Biometrics is a form of authentication used in

computer science for identification and access control. It is also used to identify
individuals in groups that are under surveillance. Biometric locks allow
authorized people to freely enter protected areas based on specific identifying
information, such as a fingerprint, eye feature, or facial characteristics. There are
two types of biometric locks on the market: touchless biometric locks that use eye
or voice recognition, and touch-identification biometric locks (for fingerprints).

This biometric identification feature adds an extra layer of security to the E-Lock
by allowing the owner to use their fingerprint or facial recognition to unlock the
bike. Using this biometric identification provides an added layer of security that
is very difficult to bypass. It is virtually impossible for someone else to unlock
the bike without the authorized user's fingerprint. This means that only the owner
will be able to unlock the bike, making it virtually impossible for anyone else to
steal it. Biometric identification also eliminates the need to carry a physical key,
making it a convenient and user-friendly option.

2. Smart Alert System

The new E-Lock will come equipped with a smart alert system that will send
alerts to the owner's phone in case of any unauthorized attempts to access the lock
or tamper with the bike. This will provide real-time notifications and help prevent
theft or damage to the bike. The system is designed to be highly sensitive and can
detect even the slightest tampering or movement of the bike, triggering an alert
on the owner's phone.

18
It can help prevent theft or damage to the bike by providing an early warning to
the owner. This means that the owner can take immediate action to stop the theft
or vandalism before it is too late. and it provides peace of mind to the owner.
With this system in place, the owner can feel confident that their bike is always
being monitored and that they will be alerted if anything suspicious happens.

3. Remote Control

Remote Control Automatic for E-Locks, a convenient and user-friendly accessory

that enhances the accessibility and functionality of your electronic locks. With
this remote control, you can effortlessly lock and unlock your e-locks from a
distance, providing added convenience and security to your everyday life.

This will provide added convenience and ease of use, especially in situations
where the owner is carrying groceries or other items. Also In case of an emergency
involving the bicycle owner, this feature will also allow the owner's relatives to
view the owner's location.

4. Automatic Re-locking

Automatic Re-Locking: The new E-Lock will be designed to automatically re-

lock itself after a certain period, to ensure maximum security and prevent
accidental unlocking, Also the automatic re-locking feature is designed to be
battery-saving, ensuring that the battery life of your e-lock system is not adversely
impacted. This technology runs efficiently without exhausting the battery,
ensuring that your e-locks continue to function for extended periods of time.
