Navigating Procore

If you’ve been invited to a project managed in Procore, you may have received an email
invitation to become an active collaborator on a specific project. If it’s your first time using
Procore, you’ll be prompted to create a password to log in.

You’ll always use the same email and password to log in to Procore. So later, when you
download and install one of Procore’s mobile applications for your smartphone or tablet, you’ll
use the exact same user credentials to log in.

After you log on to app.procore.com, you’ll start at the Company level, where you’ll most likely
have access to the Portfolio. Although a General Contractor might be managing several different
construction projects in Procore, you’ll only be able to view the specific project or projects to
which you’ve been granted access. You can find them listed in the Portfolio tab. You can either
find your specific project under the Portfolio tab or use the project drop-down menu to quickly
jump to the project’s Home tab. Later, if you find yourself using Procore for several different
clients or general contractors, you can use the company drop-down menu to easily switch
between different company accounts.

The bell and question mark icons at the top of the page are Procore’s way of communicating
with you. When you click on the question mark, you’ll see quick links to get support and provide
feedback to Procore. Here, you can access our support site where you’ll find helpful tutorials
and FAQs, contact Procore’s support team via email, start a live chat session, sign-up for free
training seminars, view training videos, suggest a feature enhancement, or sign-up for one of
our certification courses, like this one.

Click the bell icon to launch our Notification Center, where you can learn about significant
changes that were recently added to Procore. We’re constantly improving our software with new
tools and features, so be sure to periodically check the Notification Center to stay up-to-date
with all our improvements!

And if you ever need to change your personal information such as your email address or reset
your password, click the My Settings link under your name. And when you want to end your
user session, you can log out here.

Since you’ll probably spend most of your time at the Project level, let’s take a closer look at how
you’ll navigate within a single project.

procore.com
It’s important to note that once you’re at the Project level, denoted by the silver navigation bar,
you can always navigate back to the Company level associated with this account by clicking on
the company logo.

The project dashboard gives you a quick, high level overview of the current status of the project,
broken down by tool. If configured, the project’s team members will appear at the top of this
page for quick access to their contact information if you need it.

The project address and the current weather conditions on the job site will appear to the right of
the page.

You’ll probably find it useful to scan the Project Overview section to see which tools have
critical issues that may affect the job site that week. Click on the link or the bar to view detailed
information about each of the items. But the section that you’ll really want to pay attention to is
the My Open Items section, which highlights the items that have been specifically assigned to
you and may require your immediate attention and response. You can think of the My Open
Items section as your personal “to do” list throughout the project. When an item is created that
requires your attention, it will appear here, in order of due date, with the items due soonest at
the top.

The Recently Changed Items section highlights the most recent changes within a project. It’s
important to remember that it’s a filtered list based upon your tool-specific permissions for a
specific project. So you’re not going to see recent updates to tools that you don’t have access to
view. For example, you’re not going to see any sensitive financial data related to the project’s
underlying budget, because you’re not going to have access to view the project’s Budget tool.
But you’ll find this section especially helpful for tracking a project’s RFIs, especially for those
that require your immediate response.

If a schedule has been integrated with Procore, you’ll also have visibility into what tasks are
being performed on the current day as well as key project milestones. The Schedule tool will
give you access to a project’s “look-ahead schedule,” which the project manager will update
throughout the project.

As for the rest of the Project tools across the top of this page, we’ll cover each one in more
detail in the subsequent training videos.

Thanks for watching!
