1st story

1st paragraph

- captain puppet talking to the king puppet (The captain-general asked the king why they haven’t taken
down the idols Christians and the king replied that the idols are for his sick brother)

- wooden idol puppet shown (The idols were made of wood, which are hollow and lacking of the back
parts, arms open and their feet turned up under them with open legs, has large face with 4 huge tusks
similar to wild boars, and were painted all over.)

2nd paragraph:

- captain puppet shows a bathtub as symbol for baptize (The captain-general then proposed that they
baptize the brother so that he’d be cured of his sickness)

- wooden idol puppet on fire (and take down the idols afterward.)

-captain's head puppet shown (then they may behead the captain-general.)

3rd paragraph:

- captain puppet and king puppet agrees (The King agreed, had a procession,)

- brother puppet bed ridden (then had his brother, who can’t speak nor move,)

- his wives and girls same puppet lang na paran family shown (brother’s 2 wives and girls.)

- brother puppet bed ridden talking to captain puppet (After baptizing, the brother was asked how he
felt, he then spoke, that by the grace of the Lord, he felt very well.)
4th paragraph

- captain puppet moves happily back and forth (The captain fervently thanked God after hearing the
brother speak,)

-almond milk puppet, mattress, sheets, coverlet yellow, pillow (then made his brother drink some
prepared almond milk, and sent him a mattress, a pair of sheets, a coverlet of yellow cloth, and a pillow
to help in his recovery. The captain then took care of him by sending almond milk, rosewater, oil of
roses, and some sweet reserves until the sick brother recovers.)

5th paragraph

- brother puppet walking (Before five days the king’s brother began to walk.)

- old women puppet burning idols infront of king and the people ( Now they had idols hidden by old
women burnt in the presence of the king with his people, and many shrines along the seashore were
destroyed, where the consecrated meat was eaten afterward. As they destroy the shrines, the people
shouted:)

- all puppets move ( (Everyone): “Castiglia! Castiglia!” )(They said that as God gives them life, they will
burn every idols they could find, even within the king’s house. )
2nd story

1st paragraph

- zula's son offering two goats and treasures to the captain puppet (On the 26th of April, Zula, who is
chief of the island of Mactan sent one of his sons to offer two goats and treasures he had promised to
the Captain General, in request that the Captain would help him fight against another powerful chief
named Cilapulapu, who refused to obey the King of Spagnia.)

- three boats with men puppet shown (Generously, the Captain General decided to send along three
boatloads of men.)

2nd paragraph:

- armored people puppet shown, king, and prince (The Captain General had desired to fight on Saturday,
April twenty-seven, 1521, for it was the day especially holy to him. When midnight came, sixty of the
Captain’s men, together with the Christian king, the prince, some of the chief men, and thirty of the
native warriors set out armed with corselets and helmets. Hours before dawn, they have reached the
island of Mactan and had sent a message to the natives by the Moro:)

3rd paragraph:

- captain puppet talking ([Captain’s dialogue] “If you would obey the King of Spagnia, recognize the
Christian king as sovereign, and pay us our tribute, we shall be your friend. Otherwise, we shall have
bloodshed by our lances.”)

4th paragraph

- native people puppet talking ( The natives of the island then requested that the battle be put off to
wait until morning so that they might have more men.They said that in order to induce the soldiers to go
in search of them; for they had the advantage on the island and the boats could not approach nearer
because of the rocks….)

- armored people walking into the island (Morning came, and forty-nine of the captain’s men leaped off
the boats and onto the shore while eleven of the men remained behind to guard the boats where the
Christian King and the prince were ordered to stay. )

5th paragraph
- native people puppet charging at the armored men (The natives had formed three divisions of more
than a thousand and five hundred warriors, and by the time they saw the captain’s men, they began to
charge upon them with exceeding loud cries, and so did they begin to fight.)

- bamboo spears shown (The armed soldiers had scarcely defended themselves from the bamboo spears
hurled at them along with fire, and stones, and mud.)

- armored men burning houses ( Seeing this, the Captain General sent some men to burn the natives’
houses to terrify them. But instead, this leads the natives into greater fury.)

6th paragraph

- poisoned arrow hit the captains leg (They began aiming poisoned arrows at the soldiers’ legs, for that
was the only part unprotected by the armor, and one of its victims was the Captain. Wounded and
injured, the Captain ordered his men to retire slowly, while a few others remained with him. Many of
his men refused to, and so the captain continued to stand firm like a good kight.)

7th paragraph

- spear deflected by the captain (A native hurled a bamboo spear at the captain but was immediately
killed by the Captain’s lance, which he had left on the native’s corpse.)

- native men attacking the captain (Vulnerable now and without a weapon, the other native took this
chance to attack, injuring the Captain on his left leg with a large cut.)

- armored men retreating to boats (nable to recover, the captain’s men were forced to retreat, which by
the time he was killed, were already pulling off to sea. And thus, he died protecting his men, for while he
was fighting the others returned to the boats.)

8th paragraph

- one men and king talking (When the King learned that the captain was dead, he wept: because if it
wasn’t for that sacrifice, not a single one of their men would have been saved. They hoped that their
noble captain will not be forgotten because, among the other virtues he possessed,)
- captain puppet shown (he was more constant than anyone else in the greatest of adversities. He
endured hunger better than all the others, and more accurately than any man in the world did he
understand sea charts and navigation. And that captain is now known to us as Ferdinand Magellan.)
